CHAPTER 1

Get the Hell Out of the Way

Before I get into the book, let me just say that some of you are going to think that I have just lost my mind. Some of you are going to say that I’m crazy. Some of you are going to say that I am nuts, but let me assure you that neither of the above is true.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Minister Vence D. Barnett, ordained by the Almighty God himself. You have heard stories from many different pastors and ministers that there is no other power but the power of God. I know what you’re thinking. Yeah! Yeah, I heard all this before, and maybe you have time and time again, but you’re still no farther than you were the very first time that you heard it. The power of God, what does it all mean? Well, I’m about to lay something on you that will probably change the way you think about the power of God. Let’s take the word power and break it down in the sense that the world would have you think about it. From the beginning of time, man has always tried to wield this power to himself. Number 1= power is possession control authority and having influence over others. This is man’s first mistake. Understand this one thing. First, that with great power comes great responsibility, but if we are honest with ourselves, we can plainly see that man has not been too responsible with this power. We can attain it only for a season, only to let it escape surely due to the fact that it is and always will be a false power that was forged by man by way of death and killing, and as soon as someone comes along with a little bit more of this false power or there is no one left to kill, it no longer exists, it quickly disappears. Real power has no need for death or killing because real power is self-contained and nothing or no one can take it from you, but it can be given away and shared with those who are willing to receive it. Real power has no need to react to anything less than what it is. Why? Because there is no other power than the power of God. For many years, man has been deceived and seduced by false power, leaving death and poverty in their quest to gain such power. The power that we have come to rely on has served no other purpose but to destroy anything or anyone that gets in the way and is always accompanied by fear—fear being the driving force behind many intrusions of man’s kind well-being.

Number two = power is manipulation by way of lies, lies, and more lies until it has caused your own thinking to be second-guesSing. Regardless of what you believe to be true, Dr. Ray Hagan says it like this: the truth is not what you believe, but the truth is what you know. just because somebody says that a thing is true does not automatically mean that it is, especially when you know deep down inside that it is not, but man has the ability to change your mind based off the many words that they use mainly by placing great fear in the hearts of mankind in order to get you to an understanding based off their lies and deceit, therefore removing from you the God-given right to think for yourselves. Jesus spoke in parables for one reason and one reason only, and that was so that the men that were closest to him would begin to think. In order to gain an understanding of what is really going on, Seek and you will find. ask and it shall be given. knock and the door will be open. but this will never take place unless we begin to exercise this God-given right. in your daily communication with man, have you ever heard this? Well, I don’t know and don’t care. That’s a bit much for me, or to keep it plain and simple, this is the one that gets me the most: I don’t want to think about it. That’s too much thinking. some of you reading this book have probably said that many times yourself. Many of us will never begin to understand due to the fact that we let society do our thinking for us, we let crooked, money-hungry preachers lie to us. We let the government lie to us. we let family members lie to us, telling us one thing and doing another, telling us that they really love us, leading us into a delusional state of mind. we let society control a lot of our actions. they say things like in order to have a good time, you have to drink alcohol. Come on, let’s go out tonight and get wasted. if you really think about it, is it absolutely true? The answer is no. It is not true. come on, man, let’s go to the casino and win some money. if you notice, when they advertise their casinos, they always advertise the upside—the lights, the sound, the excitement, and
