Introduction

Like musical notes, numbers are the vibration in the universe and have their own tones and frequencies. Numerology is the science of numbers in your life that can be used as a powerful tool for self-discovery and self-improvement. It can provide meaningful insights, advice and enhance the quality of your life. If you can do simple arithmetic, it’s very easy to follow the instructions and figure out the numbers relevant to your own life.

Numerology offers an insight into the opportunities that will come your way in the future. It describes the cycles you experience during the course of your life and offers guidance about career, romance and prosperity.

The moment you are born, you are governed by a certain set of numbers that make up your date of birth. We can call it as your blueprint. These numbers, an integral part of the cosmic plan, greatly influence your abilities, hidden characteristics, talent and the opportunities that come your way throughout your life. The occult manner in which numbers influence an individual’s natural tendencies is numerology. Each number has a specific value that has a cosmic vibration.

■ Fate number, also called as Karmic number: Day of birth

■ Life Path number, also called as Destiny number: Sum of the date of birth numbers

■ Name number: Sum of the value derived from the letters of the name

These numbers have all the relevant information about your character, the areas where your talent lies and what motivates you to fulfil the purpose of your life.

The influence of numbers can be detected in all aspects of your life – when you will start your schooling or college, the place where you live in a particular house with a particular number according to the number you represent. You will complete your education and start your career as per the influence of your governing planet number vibration. You may be surprised to know this but even when you buy a car or a mobile phone, they will have a typical number that is governed by you. You will be surrounded by all the numbers which are synchronised with your number vibration, and those which are not will leave your universe.

There are many reasons to take advantage of this unique science as it provides an accurate insight that helps to predict some events, alter their course and make you aware of the consequences.

Origin of modern numerology

I remember learning the Pythagoras theorem during a geometry class in school. Named after the Greek mathematician Pythagoras (580BC – 500BC), the theorem states that in a right-angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

Most of us are well aware of this theorem which is the cornerstone of mathematics but not many know about the other aspects of the philosopher’s life. Regarded as the father of modern numerology, he was interested in mathematics, philosophy, astronomy and music. His life was a mystery and his fascination for numbers led him to travel widely to learn this occult science. Pythagoras believed that the physical world is governed by mathematical laws and that everything and anything could be translated to numerical form, usually in single digits. His calculation is very simple. He allotted numbers 1 to 9 in a sequence to each alphabet from A to Z. This system of assigning numerical values to letters is known as the Pythagorean Number System and is used in modern numerology.

Modern numerology has gained immense popularity in the west; columns featuring a general forecast by numerologists are regularly published online and in newspapers and magazines. Numerologists are being consulted with increasing regularity for questions related to all spheres of modern life, from romance, health, education to business or career-related decisions. As the virtual world has taken over our lives, the fascination for this spiritual science has multiplied and it is growing rapidly.

Numerologists are now able to offer advice about the best time to begin any major activity in life. Numerology is used for self-discovery and to predict the best time to invest, marry, travel, and even when to change jobs, or relocate.

What attracted me to numerology?

I was very playful and high-spirited as a small child. I loved dancing to mystical music. At the age of four, my parents discovered that I was left-handed. People tend to believe that left-handers are more creative as they use the ‘right side’ of the brain. Perhaps this was true in my case!

At the age of 12, I was introduced to art and dance as an extra-curricular activity in school and at that age, dance was fun and joyful. I practiced Bharatanatyam – a major form of classical dance which evolved in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu – for four years.

My teachers encouraged me to participate in school and college shows as I was a natural dancer. I was doing quite well but when my teachers started pushing me towards competitions, my interest in dance began to wane. Maybe my subconscious mind knew that the pressure of competitions was not allowing me to enjoy dancing. I remember one incident particularly well. During the annual-day celebration in my college, I had a solo performance. When I collapsed with exhaustion after the show, I realised something bigger than me had overpowered me, something which I was unable to handle.

In hindsight, I realised that the problem was not that I didn’t wanted to take my dancing skills to another level; I just wanted dance to be something that brought me joy and happiness. After that experience, I performed at several stage shows but not on a competitive level. I discovered that I am not competitive by nature as I believe each soul is different on many levels.

A few years later, I became interested in art. I didn’t receive any formal training in art but in my free time, I loved to sketch portraits. The only materials I needed to be happy was a pencil or charcoal and paper.

My father indulgently watched me take an interest in different hobbies and he was happy as long as I enjoyed what I did.

He was an astrologer and he had prepared my birth chart, which can provide insights about character traits and behavioural tendencies, but he never shared the reading with me. He made constant efforts to encourage and motivate me to explore art and would buy several art materials for me which he gifted to me on different occasions.

After I finished high school, I enrolled for a three-year degree course in K.P.B. Hinduja College in Mumbai but unfortunately I could not complete my graduation. In 1991, after completing the second year of my Bachelor of Commerce degree course, I got married and moved to Dubai, UAE. Marrying at a young age, and soon becoming a mother of two children, filled my life with responsibilities. I was so busy with my family life that I didn’t have time to follow my passion for art. At that point of time, my young children were my priority and I devoted most of my time to taking care of their needs.

In the year 2000, after nine years of marriage, my journey towards self-discovery and self-healing began. The power beyond me was shifting me and preparing me for the change. My life experiences had led me to seek answers through art. I believe that true art is characterised by an irresistible urge towards creative freedom and self-expression. Over a period of time, I was becoming an introvert and I used my time experimenting with art. I started looking for the meaning of life. Every night, I was haunted by the same questions. What is the higher purpose of my life? Why is happiness elusive? Why must we endure so much pain and suffering? What is the price we have to pay to have a simple and happy life?

In 2004, I went through a horrible period in my life. My father died and, while I was still dealing with his loss, I experienced many personal incidents of trauma and sadness which gave me a rude reality check. I travelled to India but didn’t know where to get the answers to my questions from. Why do bad things happen to good people, I wondered? I knew only one thing – my father was aware of my situation but he wasn’t around anymore to give me the answers.

I approached my spiritual teacher for guidance. The only advice I received was to pray and discover my true self. I started practicing yoga, meditating and praying to God for the safety and protection of my children endlessly. I gradually gravitated towards art and numbers. I was painting my heart out on the canvas and transferring my thoughts on to the canvas. All the stories that were buried deep in my mind started pouring out onto my canvas. I was awakening in my art. Over a short period of time, I created many paintings.

Two years later, in 2006, I started exhibiting my artworks on various platforms. I was very eager to present my works in a solo art show but I was directed by the universe to be patient.

The universe was imploring me to wait for my divine timing. It seemed to be saying, ‘you are not ready yet. Listen to me, half knowledge will only damage you, not heal you.’ I realised that no matter what challenges you face in life, the universe will always place you in a favourable situation that will help you solve the problem at hand.

I started counting numbers randomly to note their vibration. I was becoming more and more curious to know what they were trying to tell me. I was seeing synchronised numbers each time I looked at the clock. Every time I glanced at the clock, I would see double digits such as 11, 22, 33, etc. Numbers were popping up everywhere in the line of my vision. Each number was giving me an indication as to whether it was going to be a good day or bad; was it worth working on a certain project or was it the right time to invest; pick up the right career, and much more. The advice to make the right choice was reflected in the pattern of numbers. The universe was sending me abundant information disguised in numbers. The vibration was continuously urging me to expand my knowledge and enhance my skills. It’s too early to do a solo art exhibition, it said. Learn more! Listen to the universe. To understand why I was seeing numbers everywhere and patterns in time, I decided to consult a numerologist.

I was thrilled to have a reading. My numerologist told me about my character traits, aptitude, behaviour, weaknesses, skills and the meaning in patterns in just one reading. Right away, I was fascinated by the fact that numbers could provide this information. I decided to learn and master the brilliant science behind numbers. I was excited to learn both Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology and to figure out the difference in the vibration of both kinds of numerology. In the UAE which is home to many people of various nationalities, Pythagorean numerology matched the cosmopolitan vibration with ease.

Numerology has changed my way of thinking as it has helped me discover my skills and evolve so that I can see the insight in the numbers which give me information. I decided to give my first reading based on date of birth at the Wellness Center in Dubai to people whom I had not met previously and so was totally unaware of their backgrounds. It was enlightening to decode their birth of date and reveal an intuitive reading about their friends and family. My interest and passion further developed in the science of numbers and healing. I became a visionary and intuitive reader with the help of my teacher. On the basis of my experience, I mentored my students and guided clients who came from different walks of life and lived in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, India, Sri Lanka, Africa, UK, Poland, and the United States. I helped many of them recognise their hidden gifts.

How I benefitted from numerology

Numerology is a knowledge-based belief. I am so grateful for each and every insight which numerology has offered me. With this tool, I am aware that the difficult period in my life was a lesson that taught me to be calm and patient. Everybody has their individual life path. Every person’s journey is different even if they share the same life path with someone else.

Numerology has given me valuable insights that I am happy to share with you. It has enlightened my inner gifts so I am happy to share my knowledge from a much happier space. I have accepted that everything that has happened in my life is a consequence of my choices. If one door closes, there are still many possibilities that remain to be explored in life. Numerology has helped me understand the other person in a more kindly manner. There are many ways to enlighten yourself. I use this science to see things as they are without any judgement.

Being aware of my strengths and weaknesses has helped me accept myself with love and encouraged me to become a better person. Numbers are merely the frequency, they are not cursed or lucky. Numerology has pushed me be a better version of myself. I have accepted that if you don’t learn your lesson easily, life will teach you in a hard way. Now I plan my present in such a way that when my future self sees me, it will find that I am ready for change without resistance.

I have known many numerologists and read many books on numerology. I felt that most of them presented a complicated version of this science and so to make the knowledge simple and easy to understand, I decided to write about numerology myself. All my research from the past seven to nine years is in this book. All the stories discussed in this book are based on my case studies. All the examples here are taken from real people’s birth number and life path number rotating around me.
