Eight months ago, Nangsao Adele, twenty-two years old, had flown in to Singapore to enrol in the La Salle College of Fine Arts to study design. Indeed she had a fervent passion for design. But this was also an opportunity for her to flee from home—a home where she had been raised since the age of eight, a home which had now spanned its way into the vast Pattaya Bang Lamung District, one of the exclusive housing districts for the filthy rich. Yes, filthy was the word. It was the word to describe her adoptive father, who was beastly in all aspects. Thinking of this, she fretted frantically. She wanted to scream!

He had removed his grey suit, leaving only a clean white shirt on. Nang Adele glanced at the broad square shoulders and strong biceps that pressed against the rolled-up sleeves.

He had deep eyes and a straight nose. His lips were well shaped. His fair face, cleanly shaven, made him look quiet and composed under his pair of silver-rimmed glasses. He ate silently, seemingly to enjoy each mouthful of food prepared by his bride of three days old.

Yes, they had just been legally married,
