The Tale of Juliet

The wisdom and insights that come out from the pages of this book are rocket science achievable to only a few. It is a Jesus-kind of wisdom, open and available to everyone. It is a wisdom an example of faith that builds godly character and moves one towards Jesus’ core teaching – to “love God” and “love one another”.
The Gospel According to My Kitchen Sink has the kind of appeal that will make it difficult for anyone to put it down. This wonderful book has delighted and blessed me immensely, and has filled me with thankfulness to and for the author.

    My Sheep Hears My Voice

Dateline: The Feast Sta Rosa, Laguna.

    Sunday, April 2, 2017

I accompanied my friend Juliet van Ruyven, author of The Tale of Juliet to The Feast Sta. Rosa where she was invited to share about her life testimony. The Feast Builder Leader Bro. Dreus Cosio shared his message about Listening to God’s voice. I was seated in front of the SM theatre hall right in front of the crucifix. After his talk, it was time for Jhet to speak. While she was sharing her life testimony, I felt the overwhelming presence of the Lord whispering to me these instructions:

    1. Publish your Kitchen Sink Gospel book. (This book gave birth to The Tale of Juliet. The updated manuscript has been incubating in my computer since 2013.)

    2. Launch it in the same event, The Feast of Sta. Rosa on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017. (I had 42 days to go from that day.)

Right after The Feast gathering, I shared with Bro. Dreus Cosio and his wife Love about the message I got from the Lord. I went out and texted Faye Adan Corcuera to pray with me particularly for the funding of the book. That Sunday midnight, I sent an email to my children Pau, Inah, and Monic to share God’s message, asked them to pray with me and I attached the book cover made by my friend Erwin Barona since 2015.

Tuesday, April 4. We had our regular Bible Study led by my friend, Celee Tang. Right after our meeting, I shared the instructions of the Lord to her and asked her to cover me with her prayers for God to lead me every step of the way.

Wednesday Morning, April 5. Jhet invited me again to join her in the Power Mornings of Dean Pax Lapid as she was the invited guest speaker. After her talk, Randy shared about the Jeremiah Foundation which they have been supporting and that the love offering we would give would benefit the youth. I remember my life verse Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plan to prosper and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.

And then I felt the Lord speaking, EMPTY YOUR WALLET.

I said, Lord, Is the money I withdrew last night for them?

It was not the first time I heard this message from the Lord. It was actually the third time and always in The Feast Gatherings of Bro. Bo’s Light of Jesus community.

And so I emptied my wallet. And I felt a sense of peace. I left Php 200.00 and some loose change for my cab fare since Paul didn’t drive for me on that day. The envelope they passed on asked for the prayer requests of the giver. I wrote, "Launching of the second edition of my book, The Gospel According to my Kitchen Sink," among others.

Thursday, April 6, 12:27 midnight. I was about to sleep when my daughter Inah called so elated seeing the beautiful cover of this book I sent through the email. And then she exclaimed, Mama, withdraw Php 100,000 from my Sun Life account and use it to publish your book!

My jaw dropped. Tears welled my eyes. I was dumbfounded. Here is my former bratinella daughter who always saw me as her ATM, who always said, Mama, you are the source of my supply. You meet all my needs in perfect timing at all times, giving her hard-earned savings borne out of twelve hours of standing daily to serve her clients in Mozza Osteria, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

"Mama, that is nothing compared to what you have given me to fulfill my own dreams. This book has inspired so many people. Among your books, this was the one I read from cover to cover." she said. Anyway, you are the beneficiary of my insurance. You might as well get the invested fund while I am living, she jokingly quipped.

I could not help but send an email to Bro. Bo Sanchez on how The Feast and The Power Morning sessions played a role in this dream. I shared this good news of Inah to him and to my friend, Celee. I emptied my wallet that morning of Wednesday. At midnight, God filled it exceedingly, abundantly more than I could ask for.

    But wait there is more.

Celee texted this message, Sis, Would you believe that I have been praying on how I can be of help to you Sis. I didn’t understand why I was holding back- I only got to understand that the Lord desires the initial help to come from your daughter- the sweetest way to receive God’s gift. Now Sis, how much do you still need to publish your book? I was in awe. Celee gave the money to complete the funds I needed for the publication.

This is the third publication of this book. The second one was launched on May 14, 2017 at The Feast, Sta. Rosa, Laguna Philippines. It was the celebration of Mother’s day.

My daughter Inah founded KITS (Kind Initiative To Serve) which is involved in charity work for marginalized children and mothers. In the afternoon of Mother’s Day, the Pediatric Cancer Institute of PGH held its Little Warrior’s Family Fun Day. We gifted the one hundred fifty mothers of the cancer stricken children with a copy of this book, our way of honoring our mothers in this difficult period of their life. God is directing everything as He promised.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desire. Psalm 37:4

Last May 7, 2017, the Catholic church celebrated the Good Shepherd’s Sunday. People were asking me, How did you know that it was the Lord talking to you? I said, When you earnestly seek to listen to Him, you will hear Him.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them,

    and they follow me." (John 10:27}
