This book came from that silence. It is a collection of prayers, poems, and prose that arose from that deep and penetrating stillness. It began with a single verse from the Bible, and each day a different verse gave way to a thought, a sentence, and another that eventually became a prayer or poem. That silent voice within which is the creator of all that is beautiful and unique was the quiet force behind these daily prayers.

Georgie has spent her life on a spiritual journey. Since she walked out of a Sunday School class at age 13 because the teacher wouldn’t answer her questions seriously, right up to the present time. There have been times when she was searching more diligently than others, but the search was always present within her. She has great respect for the spiritual journey and the answers everyone finds in their own way in their own time. There is no answer that fits everyone, but spirituality is a deeply personal process that occurs on many levels. She honors and respects the spirituality within each person, and is fascinated by the diversity and complexity of the human spirit. Heart to Mind Meditations speaks directly to that openness of spirit, that longing to connect with the higher power that is reaching out to us. The meditations and prayers come straight from her heart, with very little interference, and that is the thing that touches the hearts and souls of those who take the time to read them. Once they stop and go within to experience the divine spark, the prayers become real, the meditations are soothing, and the poems speak of our shared reality.

AFTER HIS HEART

I long to be someone

who will carry out Your wishes.

One who follows after Your heart.

I long to hear Your voice

deep within my soul.

And follow Your leading on paths unknown.

I long for Your heart

to be joined with my heart.

I listen in quiet to hear Your heartbeat.

As Your wishes become

my wishes,

You show me the way to follow after Your heart.

Help me to listen.

Show me the way to go.

Lead me through Your gentle urging, to find my truth in You.

AMEN

"I have found David, son of Jesse, to be a man after my heart,

who will carry out all my wishes."

BODY LIGHT

You taught me to fill my body with light.

That if my eye is healthy

my body would be full of light.

Help me to discern whether my body

is full of light

or full of darkness.

Help me to recognize when darkness is approaching.

Help me to see clearly

and to fill my sight with light.

My eyes look to You and I see You shining brightly.

You fill my body with the light

of Divine Presence.

Open my eyes to see miracles, to see wonder and love.

And then I will see the truth

of You shining brightly within.

AMEN

The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

DELIGHT

I take delight in You today.

I think of Your constant goodness to me,

and drink in Your Holy presence.

I reach out for Your grace, today.

I can sense Your Spirit in everything around me,

and hear You in the softest whisper.

For You know my way, even before I move.

You lead me forward in my journey.

And into Your hands I surrender my spirit.

AMEN

Thank You for Your Holy Spirit speaking to me,
