Unleashed Vengeance - Kecia Jah9 Green

    Prologue

Gabriella is awakened with a jerk. Coupled with a very bitter, sour taste of alcohol on her taste buds that’s so nasty until she must close her eyes and hold her breath to keep from throwing up. Her vision is blurry from whatever it was he used to knock her out. By the motion and the tight cramped space, she knew she was in the trunk of a car. It felt like he intentionally hit every bump in the road as her head slammed against the trunk with each bump. She began wiggling her hands trying to loosen the duct tape wrapped around her hands and feet. Once she relaxed her entire body like she’d been taught to do in a situation such as this one, and took several deep breaths, with her eyes closed she began wiggling her hands up and down. Little by little she started to feel the slack wedge between her hands. Not knowing how much time she had she tried to work faster without panicking, her left hand was starting to ease out little by little as she continued to take deep breaths.

Once she felt the tape loosen considerably, she brought her hands up to her mouth and licked around her wrist so the adhesive would lose its stickiness. Working quickly, she moved her wrist up and down quickly freeing her left hand, she lets out a deep breath, takes the tape off her right hand and begins working on her feet which are taped tightly. She finds the ending of the tape and begins unwinding it from around from around her ankles when the car suddenly stops… the engine cuts off. Gabriella searches the inside of the trunk frantically looking for something to use as a weapon, she kept coming up empty. On the brink of panic, she continues to search refusing to accept that her life would end like this, not allowing him to win. She searches until her hand wraps around an aerosol can. Gabriella brings it up to her eyes to try and read what she has in the darkened trunk, anti-freeze, Damn, she curses as she lays back down in a fetal position praying that this would work out. It wasn’t long before her theory was tested as he opened the trunk smiling that evil smile, My little Gabriella. Hope the ride wasn’t too rough for you. Let me get you out of here and make you more comfortable, He leans in to pick Gabriella up, as she stays folded into herself in the fetal position, so he doesn’t see what she has cuffed in the folds of her body. He scoops her up into his arms, lifting her out of the trunk, once her entire body is out of the car, she lifts her head and sprays the anti-freeze into his eyes. He drops her as he screams, grabbing his eyes turning in circles. Gabriella hits the ground with a sharp impact, her tailbone feels like it has been crushed by a hammer, the pain is intense, but she has no time to worry about the pain as she scoots away behind the car to unwind the rest of the duct tape from her ankles. Working feverishly, she unravels the tape while keeping an eye on him as he spins screaming, thrashing at the air with the knife he pulled from his side sheaf. Knowing she doesn’t have much time she peels away the tape as fast as her hands will allow. He is making his way towards her thrashing the knife… she unravels… he is a few feet from her as she works quickly to free herself, finally just when he is within arm’s reach, she takes the last of the tape off, stands, ducks down and comes up kicking him in the balls before turning to run toward the woods behind her. She ran as fast as she could deep into the woods, with her energy level thriving, it felt like every nerve inside of her was heightened as her adrenaline kicked into third gear. All the years of training, drill practices, lessons and fighting were kicking in quickly. This is what her father had been training her and Gabrielle for since the day they were born. Another thing her father taught them was how to survive in the woods. Her eyes land on one of the largest trees in the forest, she runs over to the tree and begins climbing it with ease. Using the more solids branches as foot holds to pull her body up higher and higher into the tree. Once she has climbed at least five stories up she stops, finding a branch that can hold her weight comfortably she peers down into the forest, listening, she closes her eyes to open herself up to her other four senses, relying on her hearing more than anything. Her father always told them, when you lose one sense, the others double, right now she needed to hear better because her sight was useless at this point. As she sat in the tree, listening for any sounds from the forest, she allows her mind to take her back four years ago, to the night when her and Gabrielle’s life changed drastically forever.

Pop, pop, pop, the loud gunshots awakened fourteen-year-old Gabriella from her sleep. Jumping out of bed she runs to the door and snatches it open. Her father’s men are everywhere in the house with their guns drawn and a sense of urgency etched on each of their faces. She watches as her brother; Gabrielle opens his bedroom door and steps into the hallway with her. What’s going on? Asks Gabrielle. Gabriella shrugs her shoulders as she continues to watch the men prepare for what appears to be war. The loud sounds of gunfire can be heard outside and Gabriella runs toward her parents’ room, Gabrielle is on her heels. When they enter their father, Victor is putting on a bullet proof vest and has several guns laying across the bed as their mother Serena loads his guns as he dresses. They both turn to see Gabriella and Gabrielle standing there watching. Serena rushes over to them, I need you’ll to go inside the shield room until we tell you to come out. Orders Serena.

What is going on mama? Questions Gabriella.

I’m a kill them all! Rat bastards, they will all die tonight. Come to my house for a war, no one lives tonight! Booms Victor Escada. The twins can tell that their father is angry. He begins placing the guns in his holsters, in the fold of his back, ankle holder and then picks up a huge machine gun before turning to leave the room. He stops, looks back at his wife and kids one more time before leaving the room. Serena breathes deeply, trying not to show the fear that is caught in her throat. She knows that she must be strong for her children. Turning back to them she ushers them toward the shield room that is hidden behind the large mirrors attached to the bedroom wall. She pulls the string and the mirrors open to reveal a large door made from a metal so thick that it reminds you a safe inside a bank. After pushing the code into the keypad, the large, heavy metal door slides open and she pushes the twins inside. She steps in after them and hits another button that closes the door behind them. Serena walks over to the large computer screens and she turns them on. The first two screens show the outside and perimeter of their large five-bedroom, four-bathroom mansion. As they watched, several men dressed in all black began to swarm the grounds and Victor’s men began killing them as they climbed the huge wrought-iron fence that encircled the large mansion. Victor hired nothing but ex-military men as bodyguards, the men were well trained in battle and it showed as they began killing the intruders as they entered the grounds. Dammmmmnnn, yells Gabrielle. Pops guards are fucking beast. Exclaims Gabrielle. Serena looks at him like he has lost his mind, Gabe, watch your mouth.

    Sorry mama.

Who is those people mama, questions Gabby.

We don’t know Gabby, that’s the same thing your papa and I were wondering. There is only one person strong enough to come at your papa like this and that is Mendoza. But he has no reason to do this. Everything is good between your father and his partner. It makes no sense. Unless… Serena’s words trail off as she stares off like she is in a trance. Gabby and Gabe watch her and can sense that she is keeping something from them.

Unless what mama, asks Gabby. Just then her mother’s eyes become large as she watches the screen. Gabby and Gabe turn their attention to the screen as well. What they see makes both scared as well. A large truck pulls up to the front gate and rams into it crashing right through. At least fifty to sixty men pour out of the truck, however two of the men step out carrying large bazooka’s over their shoulders. One of the men shoots the large bazooka and it takes out half of Victor’s men. The second man shoots his and takes out at least eighty percent of their father’s men. The next man reloads and point the bazooka at the mansion and fires. The loud blast shakes the entire mansion and Gabby, Gabe and Serena collapse to the floor when the blast hits. Serena jumps up and looks at the screen in time enough to see at least ten men heading straight for the front door. She watches in horror as her husband steps out in front of the mansion and opens fire with the machine gun cutting down the men where they stood. However, she can tell how Victor’s body jerked that he has been hit several times as well. She screams at the screen, Papi…nooooo, get out of there Victor. She grabs the twins and ushers them toward the secret door that leads to the underground passage that is underneath the mansion. Snatching the keychain from around her neck she hands the keys to Gabrielle. Go to the safe spot until you hear from me and your papi. Don’t stop and talk to no one and remember…trust no one. She hugs each of the twins kissing their cheeks before letting them go. Fighting back the tears she sticks her chest out bravely for the sake of her kids.

Come with us mama, begs Gabby.

I can’t. I must go get Victor. We will catch up to you. Go…

No, we are staying with you mama. We will fight with you and Papi. You know that we know how to shoot good. Give us some guns so we can help mama. We not running. Expresses Gabrielle.

Serena swings around to him angrily, NO! You will do as I say and that’s it. We need you to go and wait for us. No back talk. You know the plan; we have been preparing for this and I need you to take care of your sister Gabrielle. Now go so I can go get my husband. Another blast hits the house and this time the whole house rocks and some parts of the mansion collapses. Serena pushes the twins into the passageway, Remember, don’t stop and don’t come back…no matter what you hear, don’t turn around. We…your papi and I love you very much. Trust only each other. With those parting words Serena slams the door close before they can respond. Gabrielle and Gabriella stand there looking at the closed door, scared and hurt. Gabrielle grabs her hand and begins pulling her down into the passageway heading toward their destination. The entire time they travel the passageway they can hear the gunshots and explosions. There are cries of men that ring out every few steps they take. It seemed like an eternity as they travel the sparsely lit underground, the smell of dirt and gunpowder fills their nostrils as they travel. Reaching the end of their passageway they come to the last set of computers set up next to the door that led them to the shed that is a few miles away from the mansion. Turning on the computers they watch in horror as the last few men are on their knees with their hands behind their heads. What made their heart stop was the fact that…their father was amongst the men.

Serena admitted to herself that that would more than likely be the last time she saw her children. She knew that the lifestyle she choose came at a high price sometimes. Her and Victor always did their best to protect the twins. They discussed the fact that because of their lifestyle and the business that they were in at times could come at a high price. She just prayed that all the training her kids had would help them to survive, in fact, she knew that her kids were different, smart and advanced. Loading her guns, she began making her way down the stairs, what was left of the stairs. As she reached the final step, she came face to face with one of the intruders, without pause she fired striking him in the center of his forehead. She kept making her way toward the gunfire, reaching the front entranceway, she stops in her tracks, Victor along with six of his men are on their knees surrounded by eight men with their guns pointed and Victor and his men. Serena closes her eyes and she drifts back to the day she met and fell in love with Victor. Victor was the only man she’d ever been with. For her it was love at first sight. She knew that she would be with him for the rest of her life. He taught her everything she knew, he made her happy, completed her and gave her a very happy life. There was no way that she could live without him. Opening her eyes, she takes aim and begins shooting. Taking out four of the eight men standing in front of Victor she continues shooting as she makes her way toward Victor. Victor and his men jumped up rushing the last four men and there was so much gunfire that the smoke was prohibiting her from seeing who she was shooting at. Then she felt something hot enter her stomach. It burned badly as she looked down, she saw the hole in her stomach as the blood began pouring out. She kept shooting as she stumbled toward Victor. I must make it to my Papi thought Serena. That thought was what propelled her forward.

Victor saw Serena as she fired, and he had to smile. His wife and partner and mother of his children. He loved her more than life and he loved her even more at that moment as he watched his baby fire killing man after man. He was so fixated on her skills that he didn’t see the man creeping up on the side of him and then he saw the large gaping hole in the center of Serena’s stomach. His heart stopped as he watched in horror as she collapsed to her knee’s still firing as the blood and life oozed from her body. Then Victor felt the bullet enter the side of his neck. Lifting his hand up to his neck he touches it and comes away with blood all over his hands. Turning he sees the man that shot him standing there trying to squeeze but his gun appears to be jammed. Victor rushes over to him and with strength he has left he takes the man’s head and turns it hard and fast snapping his neck. Stumbling back, he turns and heads toward Serena who is still on her knee’s watching him. Several bullets ring out catching Victor between his vest under his shoulder, his legs and arms. He never stops as he makes his way over to Serena. He leans down, scoops her up into his arms and makes his way back to his house. Once inside he slams the door close and slides down while still holding onto Serena. He looks into her eyes and she smiles weakly, reaching up she strokes the side of his face softly, I…I love you Vic…from day one…I have…loved you.

And I love you my queen. You have made me the…happiest…man alive. They both can hear the gunfire getting louder and louder as the men approach the house. The twins? Asks Victor.

    Gone…safe… says Serena.

In the entire twenty-two years of marriage Serena has only seen Victor cry once, that is when the twins were born. She watched as tears slowly fell from her husbands’ eyes and it made her cry as well.

    Was I…a good…father Serena?

The best, says Serena as she takes her last breath. Victor looks down at his wife and he knew that she was gone. He gently closes her eyes, kissing her forehead he draws in his last breath before joining his wife in death.

Gabby and Gabe watch in horror as their mom and pops are shot. Watching their father carry their mother into the house was heart wrenching and they wanted to go back and help but knew that it was too late. Gabe opens the door after punching in the code and they both step out into the large barn and head for the red, jeep Cherokee. Sliding into the jeep he reaches under the seat, grab the key and pus starts the jeep. Slowly pulling out of the barn he keeps the lights off even though he is a long way from the mansion.

Boom! The loud noise awakened fourteen-year-old Gabrielle from his sleep, he sat up groggily looking around his room confused. After a few seconds when he didn’t hear anything, he laid his head back on his pillow and drifted off to sleep again. This time the loud boom made him jump out of his bed. He ran to his bedroom door, peeked out before stepping out into the hallway. Hearing loud voices coming from downstairs, he thought his mom and dad were having another party until he heard the words, Where’s the money and dope? Staying in the shadow of darkness Gabrielle peered down into the living room. His mom and dad were on their knees. With their hands over their heads, two men dressed in black with ski masks on were standing there pointing guns at them. His parents were facing the stairs so Gabrielle could see their faces clearly, neither one of his parents appeared to be scared. In fact, his father had that unreadable look plastered across his face, it was the same face he used when he handled all his business affairs. Victor Senoza was a feared man, he was one of the largest kingpins of his time. Whoever was behind this was going to die. One of the other masked men spoke up, his voice was scary, We are not going to ask you again Victor. Next time we going to walk upstairs and grab one of those brats of yours. I may even have a little fun with that little girl of yours. She’s a beauty. Victor turned to the man who spoke, for what seemed like an eternity he said nothing then he spoke confidently, None of us will make it out of here today, that’s for sure but you… you are definitely dying today for your disrespect. He turns to the other gunman, You… I will offer the chance to live. Tell me about who sent you. I will give you a million dollars and grant you safe passage. You won’t have to worry about anything for the rest of your life. I take nothing personal when it comes to you. Victor gives the man time to think about what he just said, he can see by the way he keeps licking his lips that he’s thinking about the offer. The other gunman can feel it too, he tries to intervene, Shut the fuck up, you ain’t in no position to make deals with anybody. We are running this shit here. Victor continues to look at the gunman he made the proposition to, Two million in cash. Just tell me who sent you and you can have all that you ever wanted in life. Gabrielle runs to Gabriella’s room, removes the music from her ears,
