Introduction

At some point in your life there will be those times when life is overwhelming and chaotic to endure. However, there is a place you can go, it’s a personalized space, called: The Secret Place. In this place is where you conquer life’s battles and give them a run for the money in a single bound. Memoirs of the Secret Place will provide an insightful analogy of being captivated and fulfilled in the midst of challenges. Although situations might not change right away, you will discover that you are changed and empowered; so that the problems are no longer seen as problems but as opportunities.

With a bit of transparency, I share personal experiences and difficulties I’ve encountered in the past as well as more recent. I express imagery and dialect consistent with each topic, complete with poetry, prose and meditations. The reader will be able to identify with negative emotions and feelings described while becoming empowered to let them go.

A few years ago, well maybe more than a few now, I had a dream. At the time I didn’t realize what the dream implied or how prophetic it would be concerning my prayer life in the secret place. In the dream there was what appeared to be a parking garage with many levels. I seemed to be on the lower level and began upwardly searching for something or someone. At each level I encountered opposition which required a diligent search on my part for the truth behind the situation. You may be asking: The truth behind the situation? In my experience, there was always an undeniable reason affiliated with my trials or difficult circumstances. Most of the times this truth could only be found by entering The Secret Place; A private place or set apart time where we meet to seek and worship/adore God. While writing this introduction, I happen to watch the movie Amazing Grace; a must watch! It is a story about a Political Activist of The House of Commons, William Wilberforce, who has a great burden to abolish the slave trade and reformation of society. He has also been apprehended by God, and is seen by his servants, escaping through the kitchen to the back yard to meet and commune with Him. But there seems to be a problem between having a political career ahead of him and a relationship with God in secret.
