About the Author
To my forever person, Clive,
who gamely copes with and shares my life of animals. Thank you, Clive.
To all animal lovers who recognize and acknowledge animals as sentient creatures with emotions and intelligence. To all who are working hard to have laws across the world in place to support the physical and mental welfare of all animals, which have a very hard time sharing this planet with humans.
FOREWORD
B EEBLE’S STORY IS a tale of family, love, friendship, and adventure told from the heart by Beeble, who is, in fact, a horse. He is one of a set of twins and happily shares his past, present, and future with his beloved brother, Praze. His story highlights that strength, courage, and compassion are a part of life of every living creature on planet Earth, from horses to humans and everything in between.
Beeble and Praze are beautiful twenty-four-year-old bay Arab geldings who live with their forever humans, Jill and Clive Cawsey, and the rest of the Cawsey barnyard. Those who know the twins have come to understand the unique bond between them and find delight in the emotional energy that connects the brothers, as you will come to see in the pages of Beeble’s Story.
This book chronicles the journey of Beeble’s life with the Cawsey family and takes you on a path over much of the unique Australian landscape. The story is written through Beeble’s eyes and will make you laugh and cry at times but most of all will impart wonderful lessons about life and living it to the full.
Beeble has been a close friend of mine for many years, and we have shared splendid adventures together on the beaches, mountain trails, forests, and fields of the beautiful Australian countryside. Jill Cawsey is one of my forever humans too, and she has taught me so much about living with and loving horses, meeting challenges head-on, and living with health and happiness.
An inspiring read.

CHAPTER 1
Two Can, One Can’t—Childhood Days
H ELLO, MY NAME is Beeble—B-e-e-b-l-e. Strange name, but I’ll come to that later. I’m one of two. I’m not two of me. I’m number 2 of two of us. That is, I am a twin. I was born in October 1995 (can’t remember the day; I was too busy being born), twenty-three years ago, alongside or, to be correct, just after my twin brother.
Brother Praze came into this big wide world with gusto, determined to start his adventures from the word go. He couldn’t work out why everyone wasn’t making a big fuss just of him. They were waiting for something else to happen. Then I arrived, somewhat quieter, not nearly as brave-looking but nonetheless wanting my share of this wonderful new world.
Praze is definitely stronger than me and braver, maybe a little brighter or at least a little more eager. I may have been a bit on the timid
