OVERTURE
O ur story begins after Oscar has miraculously survived a dangerous winter alone at Jenny Lake, unlike any other osprey had ever accomplished. As the migrating ospreys returned to the lake in the spring, they were astonished to find him alive and see him as a truly heroic figure. But he is hiding something from everyone. A conundrum weighs heavily on his heart. A conundrum is an intricate problem with a puzzling solution. Oscar is persistently perturbed about what to do with a difficult decision. Does he withhold, or does he confess the truth and sacrifice all the prestige he has gained and that he so enjoys? Whatever he decides about this dilemma, he could face serious consequences to himself and, as you will see, to his brother, Otto.
