Abstract
Projects in aviation maintenance are extremely limited by time frame, due to high amount of operational requirements and the risk management aspect is relatively undeveloped area. Maintenance organizations are composed of multi departments with most of the participants are becoming shareholder of these projects. Under these circumstances, which are ‘time limited’ and ‘multi stakeholder’ project risk management is extremely difficult. Financial, operational costs and tarnishing reputation are inevitable due to inappropriate identified and managed risks.
Software, is part of a computer system that consist data from other sources can be utilized in order to minimize and effectively manage the risks of project. Free and open-source software platforms such as Linux are widely used today, powering web site servers, smart-phones and many other devices.
In this book, improvement of Project Risks management by introducing an online portal running on remote server is studied. This approach can also be used on other types of projects in different areas. Project risk assessment tool introduced in this thesis can easily be installed on a remote server and implemented. This tool can be used as a complementary assistance to existing software applications in Maintenance Repair Organizations. (MRO)
