Foreword
In life, there are times when the moon provides a transcendent glow, which propels some to leave the shadows of the night; and enter into a realm of daily purpose. One’s soul is just a mere reflection of what lies behind us and within the essentials of life’s disposition and the hereafter. It is merely left to each of us how to seek the true nature of who and what we are, in order to fulfill our intended purpose. Cheryl Clayton Waters, has been blessed to be amongst the few who’ve been fortunate to experience the radiance of the moon, to create literary works for readers to engage in a wide spectrum of dialogue.
I am elated to comment on the time, energy and commitment of the author to create an original story that will resonate among individuals experiencing similar life situations. Cheryl brings a unique pulse to each of her book characters to represent ideal convictions of their personalities. One will find her prose easy to follow as you embark upon the journey of her subjects. She stays true to form and provides a number of teachable moments to help some resist a few notable guises. Cheryl maintains a natural relevance with her audience by addressing a variety of topics, which allows the reader to stay connected to the world, as she delivers answers to a few of life’s questions. Her talent, passion and style is unconventional, raw, and unequivocally real and reflects in every aspect of who she is as a person. She illustrates that one can overcome major setbacks and move on to accomplish true happiness, love and respect in a world of constant uncertainties. I look forward to future works of this prolific author, as she continues to make her imprint within and outside the literary world.

Hospital Escapades
I awoke to bright lights, a lot of chatter and an IV needle sticking in my arm. I started hyperventilating! I couldn’t catch my breath! Suddenly, three nurses rushed into the room! They all started working on me at the same time. One started putting an oxygen mask over my nose. Another one of the nurses was trying to get me to calm down. In this moment, I realized that I was in the hospital. I struggled to breath for a few minutes but it felt like an eternity. Once I started calming down my breathing became more normal. However, I was feeling very nauseous. The nurse that was helping me calm down asked me if I knew why I was there. I quickly said, no! Then, I asked, why am I here? The nurse said, Macy you were found passed out in an elevator. She said that someone called 911 and the ambulance brought me in. I learned that I had also sustained a concussion when I fell and hit my head. Hmm! Now I’m wondering why I passed out in the first place! I looked to the right and saw my belongings on the stand beside the bed. My phone was there too but the screen was cracked. Seeing the cracked phone screen was like a jolt to my soul that made me remember everything. At that point the tears flowed like a stream! All I could mumble was Clayton’s name over and over.
I can’t imagine my life without him! Sadly, I don’t know if he is dead or alive! I’m thinking, Surely God will not tease me with a gift like Clayton and then take him away! The nurse that was helping me calm down asked me who Clayton was. I replied, he’s just the best thing that ever happened to me. He’s my soulmate! I told her that we were planning to spend the rest of our lives together but he may be dead. You see, Clayton was supposed to be flying out of town but there was a plane crash that occurred during takeoff at the airport. I don’t know what his flight number was and I haven’t heard from him since he left. The nurse suggested that I check my phone for messages. Then she handed me my phone. It was not working because the battery had died. I gave her permission to check inside my handbag for my charger. She found it and was kind enough to plug it in so that my phone could start charging.
In the meantime, I was told that I needed to get out of bed and try walking the hallway. They want to gauge how stable I am on my feet before releasing me. I don’t feel too comfortable walking outside of my room though. I don’t know who I might encounter in these hallways. I try not to let
