Introduction
Welcome to My Psychic World
I’m Jayne. I’m a psychic and medium, and I’d like to tell you some stories. First, I’ll tell you a little about me.
I met my spirit guide when I was just five years old. A young girl came to me one night when I was almost asleep. She didn’t scare me; she was very pretty and petite, with a sparkling, star-shaped gemstone in the centre of her forehead. I called her Star. Star began to tell me things that other people didn’t know or talk about. I remember feeling happy that I had Star, who’d appear at the bottom of my bed most nights, because I felt different from other children. I felt a connection with people who had major problems in their lives, as if I could feel their pain. Soon, Star was to show me what that meant.
On one occasion, I was sleeping and having what I thought was a vivid dream. In this dream, a lady came to me, and I felt a really intense feeling around her. I knew she was a mother, and she was hurt. She had been killed in a car crash. When I woke up the next morning, the emotions of this woman were still with me: she was so sad, and so loving. As soon as I got to school that day I immediately felt I had to go over to a young girl I didn’t know. Star was telling me to speak to her. I sensed something was very wrong.
‘I’ve seen your mum,’ I said. Star gave me a mental picture then, of the woman from my dream.
‘My mum’s with the angels,’ the child sobbed, just crying and crying. I gently put my hand on her shoulder.
We all have spirit guides, beings in the spiritual realm who protect and guide us throughout our lives. Whether we choose to communicate with them or not, our guide will always be there, helping to make the decisions that empower us and allow us to compassionately help other people. Star is still my spirit guide today. As with friendships, we can have ups and downs with our spirit guides. In my childhood and teenage years, Star was very close at times, while at others I distanced myself from her; I didn’t always want to hear what she was telling me and I didn’t always want to be different. As my relationship with Star has grown over the years, I’ve come to accept that she is my constant spiritual companion, guiding and teaching me. When I link with a client, Star is the one who brings through their loved ones in spirit.
I know that Star ‘positions me’ to be in the right place at the right time so I can have the experiences that I am destined to have in this lifetime. Star is my inner voice, what we’d also call the voice of our intuition. The more we follow our intuition, the more naturally life flows.
In 2006, I was given an amazing opportunity. I wasn’t supposed to be at Selfridges that morning; I’d bought an item I needed to change but I didn’t feel up to trekking into central London that day. I have suffered from rheumatoid arthritis since my early teens, and some days I’m tired. However, I’d promised I’d meet my friend Claire at Selfridges, so off I went. And I sensed that Star wanted me to be there, too.
While chatting in Dolly’s tea room with Claire, I laid out some tarot cards for her. As I was giving her reading I looked up, and was drawn towards a tall, well-dressed man with grey hair walking across the sales floor. ‘That’s the man who will give me a concession here,’ I said aloud. This gentleman wasn’t wearing a staff name badge, and I did not know who he was – but Star was giving me that message.
The gentleman approached our table.
‘What are you doing?’ he queried in a soft Irish accent, indicating the layout of cards. I explained that I was giving a tarot reading, and that I’m a clairvoyant.
‘Can you do that anywhere?’ he asked.
We chatted generally for a little while as I explained how I work. He seemed interested, and I felt we connected well.
‘I want you in my store.’
‘Wow,’ I smiled. ‘I’m Jayne.’
‘Paul Kelly. Managing Director.’
I began Psychic Sisters in a two-room cubicle, and within a few years we’d moved on up to a permanent stand with a crystal shop in a prime location in the store. I have to say, Selfridges have been incredible. They’ve supported us every step of the way. I’m also blessed to have such an amazing team and a business that’s unique; to date, we are the only psychic concession in a department store in the world.
Since that
