About this ebook

Exhaustive Psychedelics is the first part of Gang Recreational Drug Use and Rehabilitation, the second part is Schmoodge. Schmoodge is used in a conversation over alcoholic beverages where the speaker is slurring, supposedly as in an effort to speak the word “smooth” but being drunk comes up with “schmoodge.”

The book follows a small gang of people from the early seventies who have developed a practice of psychedelic use through to the eighties. They eventually lean in the direction of a rehab after an incident that signaled the end of their tablet psychedelic use and ushered them to consider going to rehab. Drinking ensues. Drinking for the gang tapers off to coffee drinking.

The plot is interspersed with an explaining narrative, somewhat like a newspaper article.

Hugo, Tony, Seth, Marnie, Mae and Harry, a small gang with their cars were getting recreational drugs and using them and going to parties.

Hugo, having had a restraining order on him from a former girlfriend, who was back with the gang, changed his name. It was to as a younger man again. He had gotten government approval by filing official name change papers.

Hugo at times had lived out of his car. He had developed patience in that experience.

He, like many other drivers on drugs and outdoors people, watched and enjoyed storms nearby backing off as they drove about. The direction of the storm prediction helped. One day after another, one storm after another, storm threats headed somewhere else passing nearby. Also, he was like other drivers, they drove to allow enjoyment of the views and sometimes pulled off the road to view.

Over a next few months he became more involved with car work and driving. He regularly got together with friends, usually at his small, suburban house.

He had a contact selling old cars and he wanted to buy one, a new model woodie station wagon. He could afford it if he sold his old car, a convertible converted to custom status by its previous owner, who had given it a molded Plexiglas dome, which increased its value. It had roll up windows and front and rear windshields had windshield wipers. Selling it had been quick and easy.

He was soon the owner of the newer model woodie station wagon. Many Volkswagens and Porches seemed to sigh through their air cooled engines as he passed them in the woodie. He drove on in the country and towns. Smiling.

They were soon getting into the ever changing recreational drug use scene. Whether marijuana or LSD, their obtaining it and use was cautions taken to uninhibited, which was strengthened by use. Use induced inhibition effect was seldom noticed, usage took one to disconsider inhibition, which was followed by impaired judgement and further inhibition based disconsidering not to use again and again.

It was nineteen seventy-four and they found their hip segment of society quite like it was for most.

Some time of going to a rehab and therapy, which was about in the future, was going to be tested.

And so it was, with what the other young people were doing, they were using the psychedelic drugs. Most were in a gang of some sort. This was a gang getting into recreational drug use, constant marijuana tasting, and the various strains were offering specific tastes.

This was a gang with the times.

The result of getting a potion came up. It was supposed of a motivation toward some good times.

For the gang in the forefront, it would be good to compare their mental health with the mental health of any of the many school gangs. One school gang was using an introductory recreational drug, and it was indistinguishable from the gang using the similar introductory drug.

By being less involved and more involved with things connected to psychedelics, they’d get by and thrive well into the future.

Most of the gang gathered around at their city outskirts sites, the particular site made little difference. It was a happening. Might be mostly at a far distant place, but it was happening.

Some students from a college and vocational school nearby had become familiar with this gang’s habits. They composed a gang. Similarly, the school gang was regularly reading the newspaper, where hype of the scene had crept in and had its space.

This small gang had built up motivations and went on to an exciting escapade. It was of the hype build-up.

This time, they were also using an associable recreational drug, and marijuana, which was as an introductory drug being taken, which became on a regular basis. It was taken in a maneuver that was touted to be a safeguard making it impossible to overuse. Sleep would result and prevent an overuse or overdose.

And there was an effect of the display of the hype, which went into a therapeutic (everything’s okay mind set) from an information level. This hype was considered by most gangs to be nice, and taking some of them to good mentality for what they were doing. The hype, supplied by the knowledgeable persons who supplied the news, contributed to the gang’s knowledge. By no other means, it was the hype that had spurred the gang’s drugs usage, which was regarded as tablet usage.

Concern for age of voting had crept into the issue melding with the hype. Seth, hardly concerned for the voting and drinking age, which was to do with a legal age of use, had perked his ears up.

A day before breaking the LSD psychedelic pill and taking it, documentaries from the tv-media and paper-news snowballed similar incidences of taking it. And yet, the cautious attitude of those breaking the tablet apart and taking it stood.

Some of this car driving gang had been, also, at the school where the other school gang hung out.

Time passed and a drive to score occurred. Startling his friends in the car, which he did with some relatively safe driving antics, Hugo pulled over at the object of their drive, a suburban house by a stop sign at a corner. He collected the sum of fifteen dollars from his friends in the car, got out, walked and soon returned with a glum look on his face. And he reporting the seller had nothing to sell.

After this ineffectual trip to get the tablet, a retrip later succeeded. The time passed, it was the retrip. It was a later by two weeks experience. Time to score had come up again and was succeeding.

Seth, who was into this once drizzly, now breezy, early morning light got talkative when he was with the gang. He was with one brief time behind bars and wanted some of the potion. Tony, too, was part of the potion taking scene. Marnie, a gal, was along for the potion. Mae Darin, Marnie’s friend, was also along for some of an LSD potion. And having donated Marnie was waiting, looking out the car window.

The paramount LSD tablet, a magic potion to some, score and take was happening. Excitement was on their minds. They were there for the score. It would be an easy tablet break up, preparation mix with consumables and take. The short stop and score was happening.

Looking over the seat at his five passengers, Hugo smiled and got out. The others waited in the ninety degree heat car. Then sized-up tablet breaks would come into the action.

The tablet was bought, it was split up by Hugo as the three people, Hugo, Mae and Tony, having a leisurely pursuit, sharing the tablet, which was hype satisfying, was taken with their friends in the back seat, Seth, Marnie and Harry.

The past hype of dropping out of the picture of social life was on their minds as they took of the potion. It took them to an uncertainty-time in which being one of the bigger gang’s lucky ones to hit on the tablet, out of the greater fifteen or so friends gang, would not be discernible by onlookers to reality. They took it.

    Seth exclaimed, That’s not enough.

Hugo agreed, I’m scared! I drove you to get the tablet and now it’s not enough. You okay, Mae?

I want my money back. said Tony softly, joking.

And it’s being taken was serious. Hugo drove off with a serious push on the accelerator. Then, it was the early part of a long drive.

    We’re warming now. said Hugo.

    Tony replied, Heavy.

The drive ensued and came to an end. It was many hours later when they got back to the parking spot. Dobby was again just pulling away and noticeably stepping on the gas.

It’s been a good one! stated Harry.

I’m going back home. Seth said as he was leaving. It’s morning light. We got to go through the day.

    Rainey day!

I’m going home too. said Hugo. To my sleep and work dream life!

Tony left for a short while and came back to the parking lot with groceries for the morning. After handing Hugo, Harry and Mae some packaged pastries and juice drinks, they left the scene.

The remainder of the group were soon dining at a diner, sipping juice drinks and eating breakfast plates.

I’ve got to go home. commented Tony from the group center, I’ve been hanging around too much. My mother said so.

I’ve got to go to work. said Mae. I’m going home, back to bed.

Seth said, I’m stoked to be out of that car. What a relief. And left.

Tony added, I gotta go somewhere and mellow out. I’m going home. You all go ahead and get coffee. I’ll get a cup at work later.

Mae, leaving, said, I’m sure we’ll get together again soon. And we’ll be mellowed ont then.

About a week later, another LSD potion take for this little gang was happening. Mae was there and the gang was together. The gang had gone through gloom of breaking up a week before and went through joy of being together again. Heavy laden with glad thoughts from this new tablet break outlook, which had brought some of the gang together again, there was glee.

Dobby, the here today, gone tomorrow friend come to the parking spot scene for a while, was into a little bit more personal thing and left asking what they were doing.

Dobby said, You guys taking another tablet?

Dobby got out of his car and slammed the door. He walked to the car and Hugo, who was reminded of a night once.

I must be visiting some relatives. said Hugo from his car seat. My friends live in the neighborhood and they’ve a spare room. They let a guy stay. They let me come over

He pulled away as Dobby walked by and pointed towards a bus stop.

Hugo said, This is the next, tablet take. We pick-up and break-up preparation. We take and drive.

In the car, Tony and Seth sat comfortably waiting. The others were enjoying the nice ride. Getting the good car ride to score was needed.

Hugo, with practiced experiences, was going to meet with a stranger as part of his score. Over the years, he would develop friendships with some of the sellers. He got there.

Okay! said Hugo slowing to a stop.

Hugo gathered twenty dollars from Tony and Seth, went in and got it. This next time it was a similar tablet. The break event, which would be a better take, was cheaper and there was the one tablet to break.

Before heading out on the long drive they went to the parking lot.

Harry, who had appeared there sat in his car and ate an apple, said, I have a bit of an intoxication feeling. So, later. I’m not going. And between us friends, you haven’t used intoxicants. Me neither, until now.

And he left pulling out around a corner.

Hugo and Mae wondered if Harry had been drinking. Tony thought so. And Seth didn’t care, maybe he’d also drink a little if it was with a bar-b-que. It was a good night.

Better than what we got last time. commented Hugo, looking the pill box over.

They waited In the late night and early morning hours at the parking lot in his car for a long time.

This a broken tablets we’re taking? asked Mae.

As the car pulled away from the score without hanging around, there was a short screech as the tires gripped the pavement.

Ya, if it’s in neutral. Hugo replied.

Then the unanimous decision of the rest of the gang was to go driving on down the highway rather than go on an unimproved road in the bush. Somewhere parking would occur. This was late midnight hours. There was very little traffic and the prospect there of tablets to pick up panned out. Hugo, having saved the dollars they had been giving him in his pocket, had enough.

I don’t know where the place is or if it’s open. said Hugo.

Hugo, still a medium-heavy built man in his early twenties, was with his a little feisty friends enjoying bravado, they all generously succumbed to his powerful presence. Tony with fortitude and Seth, Mae and Marnie with laziness. They were set to enjoy the ride and his company. He drove the car, a well used, recent model in which sat his friends, Seth, Tony, Marnie and Harry. For most of the gang, the car was home. It was their usual old car transportation. A car was a car. It didn’t matter whose car it was.

There was another time, this time the score was at a distant country setting.

Hugo was driving. Harry, a friend with his own old car, which he had left parked, had an off ramp sketched on a sketched map. He had drawn it on a piece of paper to show Hugo. Hugo was aware of the place.

Harry was solidly built like Hugo, but with his weight a little more torso oriented. Marnie Quill, also slightly heavy set, was a smart, powerful, young woman often turning up with her stoned friends, she often succumbed to their use of her car. She and her friends were in the car and thought, we are maybe five miles from the site, it’s maybe nine or ten o’clock at night.

Speaking up from the back seat, Seth, lank and dark haired, replied, Okay, let’s be well successful.

Hugo was quiet as he followed a car in front of him, his friend, who nobody else knew, was leading them to the place to get a tablet. As the car rolled on apprehension set in. They were about to get short changed.

Time went by and the gang was going to score some other potion, a different dosage, a small quantity.

The gang in the car was excited as they approached the small warehouse-lab in a suburban warehouse-lab house near where they lived. Hugo was driving a half hour ride and a brief wait in the car for them to go and pick up one of the usual intoxicant tablets. The time got pensive.

There are some cars parked there! Marnie exclaimed.

They waited back about half a block. A few people were coming and going. Hugo slowed as they glided, gazing at the well landscaped site. They came near, stopped and watched a smoke coming out of the front window. It stopped and they watched. The distinct modern building was for a long time showing substances being made. A smoke streaming out was soon barely visible. Some substance was of an order from some other gang, one person coming out the door was someone with their own gang picking up and driving off.

The chief maker, who had serious lab instruction there, looked up in a very used paperback manual the amount of a substance to add to make it smooth. He was adding to make it, which supered the concoction that would come out.

After a brief wait Hugo went to the door. He knocked and the lab assistant dressed in a smudged, white lab coat and blue jeans, came to the door. They talked.

The assistant said, Human beings are like guinea pigs and bats. We all need Vitamin C. Something like the guinea pig and bat, who lack ability to make Vitamin C, we humans want something. That thing is Vitamin C. And being human, we tend to need something, something else. The right spice, the right medicine if need be, the right herb, usually something for this or that ailment or enhancement of our beings. With human consciousness. To compare usage to their non usage, which is a rated successful experience, is possible. And with normal reported experiences, even in a medical journal, you’re far from what the other gangs are considering doing. But you’re normal.

Hugo said, Okay! then finished up.

And he came back with a small package. Some preparation had been bought. Some of it dissolved in a small drink. Some of it was accidentally emptied onto the car back seat as the car sped off. The loss was easy to handle. The remaining part still took them up. They did clean the frog skin like upholstery. As the group returned to a park area, the car had gone onto a divided highway. They were getting a comfortable high. The car parked, the group relaxed in a tree shaded area.

As this time was happening, similarly comfortable and with the past events drive, Hugo driving, the time passed quickly. Tony, the tall, blue-eyed, brown-haired fellow relaxed in the back seat. And Hugo drove on.

Harry included a remark in the group’s occasional gibberish, It seems okay.

Another time came up and before long getting more potion somewhere else. Hugo had been turned down at a side road friend’s, but Tony’s connection pulled through. Hugo turned off the road and stopped for a moment.

Some of my buddies are baseless. cried Tony. They live in a clique and have friends nice enough to pick them up. Me and Harry! We hitchhiked. And some other gang is in another experience like that which picked us up. It’s good to be in the now.

Tony, who had once bought a used car from Harry’s selection, was proud that he had made up a little story about the event in agreeing with his friends’ idle chatter.

Harry said, Seth’s contact is coming through. And he’ll be along, also.

They got to the place. Seth got out and visited a house for a moment then got back in.

As Seth got in the car, he said, We got the like the before time tablet.

And they drove off. Driving away, Hugo was happy among his several friends, Marnie, Tony, Harry and Seth. Tony dozed after the gradual oncoming light of day, which had gotten them high-flying through the night. At the time, it was five of five in the afternoon, the sun was up and the group was departing company, clouds passed in front of the sun.

Seth said, I look at all we had. They had taken what was a piece of an oversized off white tablet. Our tablet was paisley potion.

Soon they were all at home, the house was a gathering place where they had developed as a party of drug use.

Seth came back to the party. Hugo was looking out for Harry, Marnie and Tony to appear.

Hugo said they could all go on a flight, potion escapade tomorrow.

    Tony asked, We going overnight?

Hugo answered, So, ya. We’re going for the flying experience, which takes us in a plane. By being in the jet plane for a couple of hours, we have the feeling that the jet plane is travelling. What we go through is a through the flight feeling, it’s through a syruppy air. Instead of an airplane, we’re flying, it’s us flying. In a jet.

Our time is going to be late in the afternoon. added Seth.

Tony and Seth walked from the airplane at the airport. Hugo and Mae were behind. The main highway allowed those travellers to, after a while, get away from the airport. The night was the gang’s hitchhiking and hiking experience. Then, Tony was in his dress clothes! They walked for a block.

Hugo commented, Someone! Someone has been hauling some trash bags on the street and left them.

    Keep walking. said Seth.

There was some in their way as they headed along the sidewalk.

Tony walked on and said, That’s telling us we can go stay somewhere,

As to our whereabouts? Seth asked. Which bag was telling us to go someplace?

Tony answered, The hills are unanimously the place to go. Over in the distant hills is the place to go. Far from the police department. It is okay. He said this looking at the full moon, listening to the serene night wind.

He went on, The hills will make this experience great, the hills are beckoning.

Hugo thought, typical. And Tony spread out handkerchiefs and laid down off the side of the road. Seth and Mae, also, carried ground cloths and laid down to the inside of a clump of trees off the side of the road. Soon they were about asleep when a car pulled off the road and parked nearby. It caused these some folks to wake and be very still. They were glad they were way off the side of the road because the parking car was rattling, its hubcaps were soon being removed and its doors were loosely hinged. The car’s passengers were subjects for Seth and the lot to orient on. The car was brief, people pausing to talk a few minutes. The car left after a few moments.

To be be sure, Hugo, Tony, Seth and Mae were stoked about that. Being there and awake they decided to let the night air take them back into a short sleep. There was that much of an impression about their experience there, everything was alright. Psychedelic sleepiness existed for them as their potion wore off. It was, for Hugo, like being at the get together the years before, where his crashing out on a sofa was okay. Sleep spawned delusion potential, which would be similarly memorable for future sleeps.

Mae was first awake. Tony followed, Seth and Hugo were up and things got them
