After a successful career as an accountant at the age of 54 Barbara found her true self and ventured onto her spiritual quest searching out the ultimate plate of Burnt Toast and Oranges of her spirit. Burnt Toast and Oranges, her favorite breakfast growing up as a kid (and still is…) was a simple joy that filled her with an internal glow that started off her day. The trick she had to learn was how to hold that internal feeling throughout the whole and beyond.

At the age of 54 she sought out how to transmute the physical bread and fruit to something more powerful and spiritual. After much time, study, and dedication she had accomplished this Burnt Toast and Orange State of mind! Now with any gift, the real crux and responsibility is to learn how to share your blessings to the multitudes. So on Valentines Day in 1990 the Salem Love Psychic began advising people from all over the world on how to find the happiness and love she had found within herself. Since then Barbara has learned to offer all she encounters the ‘all you can eat breakfast buffet of the Spirit’.

INTRODUCTION

B ARBARA SZAFRANSKI FOUND HERSELF somewhat lost in life at the age of 40. Life was becoming rather dull for this little Aries Lady. A housewife, a wife, a mother, and working in the business world were really not full-filling her inner calling. Which way to turn and what was calling her? After a visual appearance of her Mother shortly after her death, Barbara’s life was turned around. She wanted to learn more about all of this phenomena, was it real or in her head? She tried to find out some answers to the questions that were occurring in her mind and most of all in her soul. It was not a religion, but it was the Philosophy of Life and Death that became so clear to her. After being involved with Spirit for over 45 years, she can genuinely say she understands herself and Spirit pretty well. She believes that the soul goes on and on. Energy can never die, and it never ends, it just continues on its’ own adventure, forever. Do we ever find a complete understanding of what this life is all about? She believes that eventually we all can if we want to. In her later years, she felt compelled to write a book about her experiences and how to help others who are seeking. At the end of each chapter of this book, there is a special message for you, the reader. Barbara hopes these messages will help to guide you towards your own spiritual path.

CHAPTER 1

THE PROCESS OF THE HUMAN MIND

W OW! LOOK HOW HIGH I am.

Betty, come over here and look!

Betty is my younger sister, 18 months younger than myself, and she crawled over to the pipes to where I was sitting. Now, side by side, we sat up on the sewer pipes that were to be put into our street where we lived in Beverly, Massachusetts.

We both laughed and swung our feet back and forth. Talking about how brave we were to be doing this. We were about 7 or 8 years old. Looking down on our yard which was on a hill and feeling like big girls, we were enjoying how high off the ground we were. Very daring we both thought, but with no worry of danger. We were looking at the fruit trees that my father planted two years ago and were now just coming into bloom. The field in front of us was beautiful. We were talking about which ones were the prettiest the cherry, apple, or pear trees. Soon enough, Mother came frantically running out of the house and called to us to get down before we got hurt. I jumped down, but Betty; who I might add was a bit clumsy, could not jump and started to crawl across the pipes. This set the pipes into motion. She lost her balance, and the pipes rolled over both of her hands, and she was stuck and could not move. My Mother was running as fast as she could towards us. I jumped up and crawled to where Betty was and somehow lifted the pipe enough to get her hands out. Now, these were huge concrete sewer or water pipes, about 6 feet tall and impossible for anyone to lift them, let alone a small person like myself! How did I do this? My Mother grabbed Betty to see if there was any damage to her hands and arms. There were scrapes and bruises but thank God, no broken bones.

Barbara, how did you do that? I can’t believe you moved that pipe! You saved her!

Mother grabbed both of us, hugging us close to her bosom. She was so upset, and of course, I got a bit of a scolding because my job was to take care of my baby sister. This became my responsibility for the rest of my life.

There are similar stories all around the world, such as recorded accident reports of a 115 lb person who lifts the front end of a car off a child’s chest. The person states that they did not know how they did it and muscular strength was not the force. This has always been such a wonder to me. Is this what I did? For years we have always talked about this event among my family. How could such a small child like myself lift a concrete structure? Some may say Angels or Spirit or God or intervention from a higher source.

I have finally found an answer at the age of 80 to how this could have come about. Because of where I am now through all my studies in the Metaphysical field I do feel comfortable stating these facts. The Power of the Mind comes from deep within the individual, not from the intellect. Within each man and woman is a universal force that is able to cause change both subjectively and objectively. The intense beat of the drum which slowly evokes a person’s, emotional energy outwards and upwards has been practiced for years around the world. Many cultures have practiced group-energy by directing it at certain causes or individuals by taking a central point at which rays of light or thoughts from the mind are directed on objects such as voodoo dolls, photos, and healing objects. Unfortunately, at this time there are many holy rollers who make advertisements and movies and have used (and abused) many of these directed methods to control and possess the group energy for
