G. I. Ant: Becoming a Giant for God
By Barb Hicks
()
About this ebook
G. I. Ant takes you into the life of G. I. Ant, Izri, Fezzic, and Monica Butterfly through the imagination. Of course they are not children, but they live in a world like children. Through the lifelike situations, G. I. Ant leaves nothing to the imagination as the situations relate to real life. A very practical application of the Word of God for each situation helps those living and growing as a young Christian. G. I. Ant separates the reality of truth from the imaginational characters that bring the Word of God to life.
G. I. Ant begins with the foundational truth of salvation and proceeds to truths to live the Christian life that help fulfill the plans and purposes of God. This real-life approach leaves nothing to the imagination as children grow in their relationship with God.
G. I. Ant desires to become a giant for God, and his life gives examples for children to grow to be giants for God by learning and applying biblical truths.

Izri Gets Saved
I have joy. I have peace. I have a new song in my heart,
G. I. Ant sang as he walked along the path. Hi, Monica Butterfly. It is a lovely day.
Every day is a lovely day to you, G. I. Ant,
she responded. You’re always so happy. And so am I, now that I’m a new creation in Christ.
Oh, yes. Since I asked Jesus to come live in my heart, everything is lovely. I have such peace and joy,
G. I. Ant said. That doesn’t mean that everything is always good in my life. I still pick on my little brother, and sometimes I even have to have a time-out. I just see things differently now, and I know that God is always with me, and He helps me when I do things and think things I shouldn’t. It’s as if I have a knowing inside of me that everything is going to turn out all right. I never felt that way before I had Jesus in my heart, and you understand what I mean because you have Jesus in your heart too, Monica.
Monica nodded. Enjoy your day,
he told her as he continued to walk.
Along the way, he noticed the beautiful flowers and the other handiwork of God’s creation. The blades of grass felt so cool as they brushed against his six tiny legs as he continued down the hill. All of a sudden, he tucked his legs up and began doing somersaults the rest of the way down the hill. Once he reached the bottom, he looked up and saw Monica hovering over him in the gentle breeze.
Down by the pond, G. I. Ant saw his dog friend Izri sitting on the grassy bank all alone. Izri had been digging holes by the edge of the pond. G. I. Ant turned and walked down the hill, and then sat down beside Izri. What’s up?
G. I. asked his friend.
It’s just a boring day,
his friend responded. There’s nothing to do and no one to play with or talk to.
I’ll sit here and talk with you, Izri,
G. I. Ant said. Did you see me doing somersaults down the hill? I learned to do that by accident. I was tunneling a hole in the ground, and when I accidently fell over, I rolled lots of times. I thought it was so much fun I quit tunneling the hole and just kept doing somersaults.
Well, actually, I was digging holes in the ground when I saw you barreling down the hill,
said Izri. I wasn’t sure if you were going to roll right over me, so I jumped in the hole to protect myself. I wish I could do somersaults, but my body isn’t built that way. But I can jump through hoops. I even won a competition doing that. I was the fastest dog there, and I beat the record that was set in a previous competition.
"That’s great, Izri. I don’t think I could jump through hoops, but I love, love, love to do somersaults. I went to church today and learned about the Great Commission."
Great co-what?
Izri asked.
"The Great Commission. That’s what Jesus told us we are to do. That’s when we tell other people about Jesus and help them learn
