PRAISE OF CHRISTOPHER MOORE
We can’t avoid tragedy on our life’s journey, but we can make the most from them. Tragedy is universal. All of us face tragedy and disappointments in life for it is common to mankind. Wherever you are and whoever you are your tragedy is not your undoing,
says Christopher Moore in his book You Can Begin Again. The author, who is a trusted friend of mine, offers solid hope and comfort to those who are facing some of life’s greatest challenges.
It seems to me that most of the news I read, watch, and hear is terribly discouraging because it reports one tragedy after another. We are living in tough times, and everybody you meet is facing something and searching for answers. These messages from Rev. Christopher Moore’s book will bring you encouragement as he explores some of the great components of Nehemiah’s God-centered leadership that fueled him to complete the rebuilding project of the walls in Jerusalem.
With wisdom straight from God’s Word, these messages will hopefully guide you through your difficult times and encourage you to begin again. Just as God empowered Nehemiah, He can do the same for you.
The Israelites said, There is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.
That’s frustration. They were disheartened and frustrated over what seemed to be an impossible situation. They lost sight of their goal because there was so much junk in their lives that they didn’t know how to get to the real business of living. You Can Begin Again is a must-read for this day and times.
Rev. Christopher Moore helps you to rediscover (or perhaps discover for the first time) an optimistic outlook on life that can help you face each challenge that confront you. He helps you to trust in God’s Word again. Take control of your journey again with the insights and encouragement from his book.
—Dr. Samuel Jackson Gilbert, Sr.
Pastor Emeritus, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Houston, Texas
Pastor Christopher Moore opens our hearts and minds to Nehemiah’s God-centered leadership, which started with a prayer of repentance after he heard about the condition of the city and the wall of Jerusalem being broken down, gates burned, and the city laid in ruin. Nehemiah started with fasting and prayer before the God of heaven. In his prayer there is praise, for he beseeched God as the God of heaven, the great and terrible God that keeps covenant and mercy for them who loved Him. Nehemiah petitioned God to hear his prayer with an attentive ear and with eyes open. He prayed night and day for the children of Israel. While praying, confession was made for the children of Israel’s sins and his own.
Pastor Moore wants us to know that our beginning again must start with God. God empowered Nehemiah, and He will empower us. Also, this book teaches us that God-centered leadership starts with God and continues with Him, trusting and depending on Him to help us rise from the dust of tragedy or the ruins of the storms of life. With our trust in God we can begin again.
Thanks to Pastor Moore for his insight on how Nehemiah trusted God while fighting against obstacles and barriers, continuing to work, and ultimately being successful because he never stopped trusting in God. This book reveals, through Pastor Moore, how a continual trust in God can keep us going after we begin again. I highly recommend that everyone read this book because we never know when we may need to start over.
—Pastor George Cartwright
Pastor, Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, San Augustine, Texas
