About this ebook

The Bible reveals much about angels; however, as it is with other subject matters in the Bible, the subject of angels could be treated superficially with its deeper truths overlooked or missed. This book does not attempt to address all there is to angels but intends to uncover profound truths about angels, which otherwise have remained obscured.

Many may resist the thought of angels possessing physical bodies, let alone the possibility of them engaging in sexual activities. What really is the image of God, and do angels possess that? This book addresses these questions and other intriguing facts about angels.

The inevitable topic of man is also treated in limit, perhaps you would like to know how and where Adam and his wife, Eve, were created. I hope you appreciate and come to the realization of the possibilities of what this book offers in the light of scriptures.

    PREFACE

…Angels bow before Him, Heaven and Earth adore Him, what a Mighty God we serve, so goes the lyrics of a popular Christian worship song. In almost all the prefaces of the Catholic liturgy, the phrase …with angels and archangels, and the whole company of heaven…, recurs. In our everyday language, the topic of angels dominates some of the times such as in you are my angel or you are my guardian angel. The topic of angels and the celestial bodies, though obscure and least spoken about, is thus not completely removed from our human consciousness.

Spoken about or not, the celestial beings and other spiritual powers do exist. Their existence is not a mere conjecture or the figment of our imagination. The Judeo-Christian tradition, codified in both the Old and New Testament, is a great testimony of the creation and existence of these spiritual bodies. Angles played an enormous role in the annunciation and birth of Jesus Christ. At the birth of Jesus, we are told host of angels sung

glory to God in the highest… (Luke 2:14). Angels and other heavenly bodies play significant roles in the Bible and in the lives of earthly human beings.

This body of Biblical knowledge has remained very remote and obscure to the ordinary eye and mind of religious people for years. It is therefore a greater relief that Chariots of Fire has seen the light of the day. In a well-researched document, the author discusses the topic of angels and other heavenly bodies in a very simple and comprehensive manner. The worth of knowledge expressed in the book is amazingly wonderful.

The nature of angels and their role in both the celestial and terrestrial domains are discussed. The author has taken us to a new level of knowledge that most of us will never venture looking into. This is a greater privilege to us mortal humans. It tells us the glory that we stand to achieve after this our mortal existence.

I urge all readers to take this book seriously and recommend it to their friends to help them know more about angels and other heavenly powers. The following topics are well-covered in the book: the stars, the terrestrial, the celestial and the spiritual bodies, the glory of the celestials, legion, celestial weapons etc. For me, this is an opportunity to know more about these other beings who surround us day and night. I say kudos to the author for the worth of knowledge shared in this book and I urge all to read on without stopping.

    STARS

I t is important to know for this discourse that throughout scriptures angelic beings have been associated with the stars. A careful study of scriptures reveals why these beings have been associated and sometimes referred to as stars. They have not being called stars by the Almighty for no reason.

You may agree with me that most often in the scriptures, names of people playing prominent roles do reveal lots about them and equally often these live by their names. We may have to study and examine few scriptures in the Bible to establish the fact that the name ‘stars’ has often been used in reference to angelic beings.

The book of Judges Chapters 4 and 5 offer us one of such examples. In these chapters the nation Israel were under the leadership of Judges but were ruled by King Jabin of Canaan. The then Judge of Israel was a lady prophet Deborah. The spirit of God moved Deborah to call Israel led by Barak for battle against Sisera the commander of Jabin’s army. Israel was up against a better equipped army and they were outnumbered.

The mismatch was clear and weighed heavily against the
