THIS BOOK HAS BEEN ALMOST 5 years in the making and would have been impossible without the gift of salvation from Jesús and the constant prodding of the Lord God Almighty through the ministry and agency of the Holy Spirit.

Despite numerous setbacks we continued to persevere and now have the finished product today. It is the beginning of greater things to come.

I also want to thank Kenny and Jason Otah who persisted in encouraging and reminding me of the need to keep on moving and my brother, Austin Otah Esq who scrutinized every colon and comma.

I want to thank Drs Ayo and Alice Ajim, MD, the Senior Pastors of Grace International Church who were always there for me throughout the long journey, Dr O Apeoso MD, Resident Pastor of Grace International Church at New York and the entire congregation of Grace International, internationally, thank God for you all. Please let us remain faithful and keep on trusting God.

Finally I again want to thank God for the special gift of my wife and acknowledge the help of Ese Otah MD without whom this will have continued to be a dream.

I pray that this book will bring glory and praise to the one true King and his Son Jesús the Christ, and will build up your holy faith in his ability to finish every good work he has started in you.

    Foreword

    SUBJECT: RE: GENESIS GAP

IT IS BOTH INARGUABLE AND intriguing that there is a gap between Gen. 1:1 and Gen. 1:2 in the Holy Scriptures. It’s a topic that has baffled many a theologian from ages past. This window in creation is especially baffling and confusing for many. Even more interesting is that many are unaware of it!

Dr. Kenneth Otah, a man of faith and science (Board certified Cardiologist and Minister of the Gospel) uses his deep insight and wide experience both in science and scripture to delve into this all important subject. He will elucidate for us, findings that are both enlightening and exciting.

This book promises to inspire, refresh and entertain. I personally think it’s a must read for every believer. It surely will be worth all of your time and attention!

What Is The Genesis Gap Revisited?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:1–2)

THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE PASSAGE HAS been a bone of contention and the cause of numerous intrigues and speculations in Christian and secular circles. A multitude of experts have given opinions usually based on personal convictions, individual worldviews, and sometimes extra-biblical sources. These are taken usually out of context and eventually lead to faulty conclusions.

The Genesis Gap Revisited is written for such a time as this. The Bible says in Psalm 11:3, If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? What are the foundations? The foundations can be described as basic doctrines of the faith. A person’s perception is one’s reality. For example, a popular understanding or statement that God is good, all powerful, and in control may affect individual reactions to good or bad outcomes or events in our lives. Difficult situations may affect some people’s reasoning, and they may conclude that since God is good, bad events have nothing to do with a good God. Alternatively, we may question the fact of God’s goodness and conclude that God is probably not good. Events like premature deaths, sickness, disease, and accidents can threaten the faith of most people who believe in the concept of a good God. Some will conclude God has no control of events and is a distant, disinterested entity. This is common in some belief systems, such as Greek mythology and Islam. They find it difficult to believe in a God interested in their welfare. However, we understand that without the book of Genesis and the clear, concise fall of humankind—and its attendant tragedies and trials—there is no need for a savior or for redemption.

This book provides a bulwark for the foundation that is the book of Genesis. It shows why we should support sound doctrine and the reason to completely trust the Bible in these unprovable areas.

The fallen tree in the above picture will not be thoroughly cast down because it is supported by other trees in the neighborhood. However, if it loses its roots, no matter how much support it has, its demise is certain.

A focus of some in the secular and even religious world system is to discredit the book of Genesis. Even in religious circles, there are disagreements with almost every aspect of the first few chapters. The problem, of course, is that if Genesis is wrong, then the premise of the whole Bible is questionable.

Essentially, the best approach to destroy or insert doubt in a reality, like the fact of God’s goodness, is to question its very foundation. This process was used very effectively by Satan in the garden of Eden. Because he inserted doubt
