This book is dedicated to my sisters, Angel,

    and Ashley with much love.

R oxy and Paul lived a life to die for or so it seemed. Paul was a huge music manager for several of the hottest acts to grace the stage. He and Roxy traveled all over the world following his career and leaving hers behind. She loved it at first, but then everything was about Paul and his acts to the point where her dreams were vanishing. He was gone months at a time, leaving Roxy alone and lonely. She decided it was her time to make a move and do what she loved—cooking! She so badly wanted to be a world-renowned chef; oh how many times she watched Top Chef and said, That could be me. I mean, the girl could throw down.

Then in came Bret Jacobs, Paul’s newest act. He was a young twenty-something heartthrob. He was good-looking and talented and could sing the panties off any woman. Although he was young, he had mad game with the ladies. His on again off again relationship with his son’s mother was doomed from the beginning. As soon as Bret signed a recording deal, she was all about getting the paper. But boy did he love his son.

Bret met Roxy at an event hosted by Paul and was in total awe of this woman. He loved everything about her. She was stunning, smart, and funny, but there was something else—he just didn’t know what—he was definitely drawn by her essence. Of course, Roxy was impressed with Bret’s talents. She thought he was the best of all her husband’s groups. Through a whirlwind of events, Roxy and Bret found themselves mixed up and leaning on each other in more ways than one and closer than either could have ever imagined.

P aul was throwing a huge party for his latest act, the Turnt Up Boyz. Their CD had gone triple platinum. They were the hottest group that Paul managed and were very successful. Roxy was so excited for Paul. All the long nights and tours around the world had finally paid off. She was glad because now he could slow down and be home more, and she could start her career as a chef.

Roxy went to the event dressed to die for. It was an all-white event, and she had come correct. She was in an all-white one-shoulder dress that fit her curves like a glove. She accented her attire with gold jewelry and shoes. Roxy was almost forty, and she was stunning. She could run circles around any twenty-five-year-old. She was smart, funny, and fit, and more than anything, she loved Paul with all she had. She believed in him and supported his dreams
