About this ebook

The name Abraham has been heard in many homes and faith. From the north to the south, going west, then travelling to the east, he has a place in many hearts and cultures.

To say this in fewer words, Abraham has a prominent place in the lives of many and in their faith.

For centuries, until now, the question has plagued the mind of many Bible theologians, students, and the like, even mine, Why did Abram, after receiving a portion of the blessing which his Lord had promised, left it for something else of lesser value?

The enquiring questions really should have been the following:

Did Abram really believe God?
Was his going just obedience?
How much did he trust God?

His life is a description of many today, who goes to the house of prayer and worship where God speaks to them and, upon leaving the door of the sanctuary, goes in a different direction.

I remember one very wise man saying, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:56).

Christopher S. Peterkin

Christopher S. Peterkin has been walking with and serving the Lord for over thirty-seven years. As most young lads in his time, Christopher grew up liking sports, such as pitching marbles, playing hopscotch, cricket, soccer, and among others. His most liked was cricket, followed by soccer. For several years, he played the steel pan, also known as the steel drum. It was while playing the steel pan that the Lord chose him, and from then on, he walked in that calling. Certainly, there were rough patches and difficult moments, but the Lord brought him through them all. Fast-forward: Christopher went through years of biblical training, and tutoring before accepting the pastoral aspect of ministry, all of which was in his home-land, Grenada. In that field, he served for eight years before migrating to the USA in 2003. While in the USA, the Lord assigned Christopher another gift—this is one for writing. Since then, he has written and published two books: Man’s Catastrophic Plunge into a Dead Zone and Obstacles to Deliverance. Beginning in 2008, the Lord has given this author an opportunity to speak into the lives of many young men who, unfortunately, are incarcerated. Through him, many lives were touched and influenced by the Lord; some of whom have established a closer and more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The hope of this book and its author is that the word of God becomes clearer to the understanding of every reader.

    DEDICATION

Several years ago, maybe ten, I was strongly moved by the Spirit of God to write a book on Abraham.

I started, and was well under-way into doing so. One day while I was doing some work on that manuscript; typing, something I will never forget happened. At that time I could not explain, however, after several years, I understand what took place, and can now explain.

Anyway, as I was typing, for a very brief moment I took my focus from off the computer screen to look at my hand written notes. When I looked back to the screen there was absolutely nothing; yes, absolutely nothing on the screen. My heart sank within me.

I became frightened and a bit traumatized.

I do remember becoming angry with GOD, asking what has happened, and why did He allow all that work to just disappear, be gone.

I also remember telling myself that it is somewhere within the system, and therefore can be retrieved.

That being so, as I told myself, I proceeded to enquire of a couple folks whom I knew is very good in that field; the digital work of computer. As a matter of fact, one of them possess an engineering degree.

At the end of my enquiry, I was disappointed and devastated. All zeal, excitement, and hope of my heart’s desire to write and publish that book were gone.

I did not even want to think of it anymore, no more. It was very painful on me.

As far as I was concerned, that was a done deal. However, about two years ago, thinking that the fire to write that book was all out, only to realize that it was rekindled.

To my dismay, the approach and much of the content is far different from the previous writing. I then concluded that, GOD did not want me to proceed with my
