Every human life is sacred in every tongue,
Seven and a half billion times?
Could it take a lifetime? Or so much more?
And in that time, no one could die
At the hand of another?
No fair, filling the air with bullets, rockets, and bombs
Staining the walls of houses of worship
With the blood of those who simply came to worship.
Death in the name of God? The king? The temporary ruler?
Will it take God to tell us when to stop? Or,

AWAKENING: CONSCIOUS/CONSCIENCE

What time is it?

How long have I been Asleep?

Hardly matters now as I move… slowly…

Still struggling to gain CONSCIOUSness…

Looking about, now, at what was

NON-Existent to my UnCONSCIOUS Mind;

Although all of it was there, all the time!

My body still insistently whispers

Calling me back to sleep,

Hearing my own voice, trying to sell me:

JUST 5 MORE MINUTES!

Tempting. Tempting… Before I STOP -

Halted from doing many of the THINGS Many of us Do,

That I had Done, Unproud – UnAWARE – UnCONSCIOUS -

UN-CONSCIENCE!!!

- UNABLE To Re-MOVE

My BRAIN from the BOTTLE, but UNAWARE

WHO PLACED IT INSIDE THERE?

But, WHOA!

ONCE ABLE TO QUESTION – AT ONCE, AWAKE,

AWARE AGAIN - THAT I HAVE SOMETHING!

SOMETHING MORE…

MORE IMPORTANT TO DO -

LIKE FINISH THIS POEM!

And then GET BUSY! There’s WORK To Do!

Calling

I heard your Voice

Not Outside, INside!

But like a loudspeaker

Speaking through my mind

Like a fresh breath of air

To a man used to holding his breath

I’d forgotten the opposite-

Breaths, now

Filling me, and

Fulfilling me

Moving through the nooks and crannies of my lungs, my life

Where I have put my faith so far away

Only to discover that hope, that hope

Was always there

Among my mental fundamentals

Released from the bondage of doubt

Called to undergo a change of mind

And inner morphing to a new me, mine

New sensibility, responsibility, yes, destiny!
