About this ebook
James Cousar
At the age of fifteen, an uncle gave James a photo camera. He enjoyed photography and became curious about the chemistry of making pictures. He studied chemistry, photography, and theater while attending Ohio University. During his summer breaks from college, he was employed at Dow Chemical Company as a research chemist, and there he received a patent for his packing design. The next year, as the hippie movement began to spread across the country, he auditioned and was awarded the lead role in his first feature film, Sign of Aquarius. Later it was rereleased as Ghetto Freaks. James moved to Los Angeles and gained popularity and awards as a male model. He juggled modeling and acting for many years, appearing in numerous feature films, TV programs, and TV commercials. As a contributing writer to various magazine publications and as a radio program producer, he learnt the facets of storytelling. He studied film editing to acquaint his self with scene timing. This was useful for directing his short video and to better pace his journalisms. Storytelling is transferring a mental image from one being to another.

Part 1
ONCE UPON A TIME AT NIGHT
Part%201.tifIt’s 1968. Here in the moderate little town of Smallfield, tonight there’s no activity on this preserve, quiet residential street in mid-America. The stars sparkle in a cloudless sky as an unusually large full moon illuminates the houses, trees and a narrow sidewalk. A woman’s curvaceous shapely silhouette rounds the street corner. Her red colored high heels click on the concrete sidewalk with each step. Her tight fitting red dress with a side slit moves smoothly as she sashays along the sidewalk. Her long black hair with a matching red colored front streak bounces with each step. The mid-30’s woman stops to search through her handbag. This is Vamp; a stylishly dressed, attractive woman. Irritated as she fumbles through her handbag, she mumbles to her self, I’ve got to stop carrying around so much stuff. There it is!
She struggles, yanking on something inside. Will you come out!,
She says in frustration. She yanks an object from her handbag and drops it. Damn it!,
she curses. She stoops down to pick it up.
Standing up, she comes face to face with a snaring male, grotesquely disfigured ZOMBIE. He lunges at her. She dodges him and throws down her handbag. Vamp, defying the zombie says, This vampire ain’t afraid of no zombie, especially one as ugly as you. Now you’re gonna get it.
She exposes her vampire fangs and leaps for his neck. The ZOMBIE jumps aside and swings a blow, knocking Vamp to the ground.
She rolls over and sees that her dress is torn. What? I just bought this dress. Ohhh, You shouldn’t have done that!
she says engagingly.
The ZOMBIE looks down at her and growls.
Vamp teasingly says You wanna eat some brain? Then come get it.
Vamp waves for the zombie to come to her. The ZOMBIE takes a flying leap at her. She quickly rolls over as the ZOMBIE lands on his stomach. She quickly jumps up and onto his back. She pounds his head against the sidewalk.
Vamp Ouchhh!!
She pauses to look at her hand. You broke my nail
. she screams.
The ZOMBIE twists around and knocks Vamp over and quickly leaps on top of her. He pins her hands to the ground, licks his lips and opens his mouth for a wide bite.
Suddenly, he’s knocked over as a younger woman tackles him and rolls him off of Vamp.
The ZOMBIE hears something, jumps up and runs away.
A short haired, energetic, athletically built, mid-20’s woman helps Vamp to her feet. This is Vamp’s friend and cohort, vampire Lisa.
VAMP
Thanks Lisa, but I was about to finish him off.
LISA
(Sarcastically)
Yeah, I guess you had that zombie right where you wanted him.
The two women start walking down the sidewalk.
VAMP
Damn right! Look how he tore my new dress. Oh, and how are your blood donations from humans coming along?
LISA
They aren’t! All the blood donations at my facility have been confiscated by the military. It’s needed for wounded soldiers, so they say.
VAMP
We must all do our part to participate against Communist taking over South Vietnam.
LISA
But taking all my blood donations, we vampires need it. Tim was making so much money selling it at his vampire nightclub, to other vampires. I don’t wanna’ go back to stalking humans again.
VAMP
(Jokingly)
You’re starting to put on a few pounds, stalking keeps you trim.
They cross the street of a cul-de-sac and turn the corner. Their voices are heard as they walk away.
VAMP
(Angrily)
And look! That darn zombie made me break a nail.
All the single-family houses on the cul-de-sac are dark. Only one small house at the end of the block has its interior lights on that are illuminating through its windows.
Part 2
THEY CAME FOR BLOOD
Part%202.tifInside the conservatively furnished suburban style house, a man in his early 30’s, and casually dressed, is sitting on a couch in the living room preparing to watch TV. The theme from the 1968 television show, Star Trek
is playing.
A woman, in her late 20’s walks into the room and joins him on the small couch with a bowl of popcorn. They begin sharing the popcorn and enjoying the TV program. Suddenly their evening is interrupted by the loud sound of a window crashing.
WOMAN
(Started)
What was that?
The man leaps from the couch and runs across the room and down a short hallway, where he quickly opens a bedroom door.
There he finds a grotesquely dirty looking male ZOMBIE standing next to a broken window with its wide mouth opened. It is about to bite into their sleeping child’s head. The ZOMBIE looks up.
ZOMBIE
GRRRAW!!
In an instant the zombie’s head explodes with the sound of a loud shotgun blast. From the doorway the woman walks into the room carrying a large shotgun with both barrels smoking.
WOMAN
(Irritated)
I’m sick and tired of these damn zombies!
MAN
Me too, but who we gonna’ call?
At this moment across town, in the lounge area of a gothic style, decorated saloon, Tim, a man in his late 30’s, dressed in a wrinkled white shirt and jeans, jumps up from his seat behind the bar.
TIM
Zombie Busters!! That’s what we need to get rid of these zombies!
Across the room, the entrance door opens and Paul, a tall slender built, mixed Afro-American man in his late 40’s,
