My name is Victoria-Ann Clarke. I love telling stories and writing them down. I would love this book to inspire young people and to show them that anything is possible if you put your heart and sole in to it. I have dyslexia and I do not let it hold me back and nothing should hold you back either.

    About the Author

    For …

My Mum and Dad who are always there for me.

    image1.jpgimage2.jpg

    Dear Reader,

The summer my Brother and I turned 16, our mum told us that we were to spend the summer with our Grandfather before we went our separate ways. We agreed to go mainly to keep the peace but also because we only saw Grandfather on special occasions due to the fact that he lives on an island of the coast of Wales. The island is called Avalon and Grandfather always said it was a very magical place. We always believed that it was just a story but that summer everything changed and we learned the truth. This is the record of what happened.

Mum has just put her head round my door for the umpteenth time this morning. She is all uptight about the trip to Grandfathers. It is the first time Seb and I will have been to Grandfather’s island of Avalon. Normally you see, Grandfather would stay with us but this year he wants us to stay with him and dad agreed; so now we are packing everything we need for the holiday. I have most of my things packed in my suitcase but my favourite things are in my backpack. These consist of my sketchbook and pencils, the book I am reading about the Court of Camelot, my iPod and of course my lucky blue and green glass dragon as well as this Journal. I also have my handbag with all my handbag things. I am actually excited about going to stay with Grandfather but Seb, my twin brother, seems to be put out by it. He wants to stay home, so he can compete in an online gaming competition. Mum is having none of it and is standing guard at his door making sure he is packing and he is not happy!

When Seb eventually finished his packing to mum’s standards, dad gets us all in to the car and we set off. The moment we are on the road Seb pulls out his iPad and starts to play one of his fantasy combat games were he can defeat his enemy any way he likes. I can imagine that he wishes he was there not here. Mum is ‘tutting’ but leaves him be, because he is not complaining any more. I wish we would get there soon so I can see Grandfather’s home where he loves to be more, than anything else in the world. Dad says that we have a way to go but we will be there by morning. It is starting to get dark, so I think I will put this away for now and get some sleep. Write again soon.
