Just Breathe: Take Life as If It’S Borrowed; God Never Promised You Tomorrow
()
About this ebook
Just Breathe is a composition of many diverse poems directed to withstand life stressors and face emotional taboos. This book is designed to paint a picture of endless emotions that we experience daily. Some may find this book exhilarating, and some may see it as liberating to correlate what one feels but is unable to speak out loud. We experience so much in our short lives that breathing sometimes becomes almost impossible. This book was written with the intention to explore those deep emotions and put clarity to what seems unbearable.
Due to unfortunate circumstanceswhether natural disasters or self-created chaoswe may feel as if our lungs have been taken hostage, leaving us fighting for air. Just Breathe shows the battles we all face in life and the beauty of our strength when we stand tall and selfishly fight for our will to breathe.
Esmeralda Murati
Esmeralda Murati was born in Albania but raised in the Bronx. She got her bachelor of arts degree from Lehman College and her masters degree in social work at Fordham University. Esmeralda works as a school social worker in an elementary school in the Bronx. She works with students struggling with various disabilities and/or a mental health illness. She has been writing since middle school, when she barely knew how to speak English. Esmeralda has embraced the idea of free writing as a therapeutic tool to overcome, express, and explain daily stressors. Just Breathe is Esmeralda’s writing debut. She has used her past experiences of the many struggles she faced as a foreigner, such as bullying and rejection, to create the stories in her book. Esmeralda has overcome much internal pain through her writing and hopes that others will relate and embrace poetry as an emotional, beautiful mess.

Your life is your own personal canvas; it’s your own work of art.
Paint it with your words, your love and compassion for others.
It may be a mess, but it’s your own beautiful mess.
Two brazen doves
As he opened his eyes, he saw the body that lies
On the arms so big and strong
He vowed to protect her from this day on
To never harm even a hair
To ensure her safety, he solemnly swears
He vowed to never let go
Love her as she deserves to be loved so
To take her to the ends of eternity
And live every day with her purposefully
As her body awoke
Stretching from her head to her toes
She smelled the most delicious fragrance
That aroma gave her an endless sensation
She did not need to see
Where he could possibly be
She knew he was near and to have no fear
For this man holds her every breath
His words alone get her to undress
No command is necessary
This beautiful man one day she’ll marry
And birth his children with his name
And count her blessing from the day he came
Into her world uninvited
And into her heart undecided
But she knew from very on
He would be her favorite song
Good morning, my love, how do you feel?
He asked while her neck began to reveal
"I feel happier than yesterday
Does it sound cliché as I say?"
She smiled big and bright
As his hands and her nightdress began to fight
"No, my love, it does not
For if you’re happy, I have done my job
As your lover I declare to see
The happiest you could possibly be
And if I am the reasoning behind your smile
Then you have made my life worthwhile"
"Then naturally, I must confess
Before you remove anymore of this nightdress
You are the reasoning behind it all"
She said as she began to crawl
Up the body she claimed
The man who made her feel unashamed
To show such passion and lust
To the only love she trusts
"You, my love, are a precious rose
Something to cherish and to behold
You are what dreams are made of
You are the definition of that great love
I may sound mushy and poetic as I say
Will you marry me someday?
Will you be my wife?
Will you fulfill my life?
Will you bear my children?
Will you join me in this life’s mission?
Will you trust on
