Rinnie the Weasel
()
About this ebook
Rinnie the Weasel is very clever and kind of obnoxious. Hes about as much fun as a barrel of monkeys mixed with a puppy rolling in the mud; in other words, he likes getting into mischief. He lives in the McElvery Woodlands, and luckily, has some very patient friends, including Matilda the Fawn, Chadwick the Beaver, and Horatio the Frog.
All Rinnie wants to do is have fun and play with his friends, but hes developed a bit of a bad reputation. Some of his buddies get annoyed at his antics and dont always want to play because Rinnie can be messy and rude. Its a good thing his pals love him despite his various escapades, but what happens when he goes too far? Well, his friends want to wring his neck, thats what!
Rinnie the Weasel sweeps readers right into the magic of the story. Engaging in a variety of built-in activities supports the message of the book and helps kids connect in meaningful ways to the characters and events of Rinnies journey. Sure, this bothersome weasel might be a lot of trouble, but with the help of his friends, he learns some important lessons.

Chapter 1
Come meet Rinnie the Weasel. Rinnie is a very clever fellow. He has a long, slender body covered with fluffy light-brown fur running down his back, with tufts of short white fur flowing down his front and jutting out in various directions. Rinnie has round brown ears with black glinting eyes that capture every moving object in sight. Rinnie is a rascally fellow with devilish behavior. Knowing Rinnie is a mixed bag somewhere between a slobbery kiss from your dog and a snakebite. Although he is as much fun as a barrel of monkeys, he is also as mischievous as a naughty puppy rolling in a puddle of mud. *1
Rinnie lives with his brother Tobias and his sister Rosey. The three of them share a burrow under a giant log by Gomer’s oak tree. Each member of his family decorated his or her room with memorabilia personal to each of them. Favorite pictures are hung on the walls with boxes used for storing clothes. Feathers and old scraps of material were woven into soft blankets and coverlets.
Rosey, Rinnie, and Tobias eat most of their meals together, taking turns cooking gourmet meals from insects and rodents. After eating, they usually play games, chasing each other from tunnel to tunnel. Sometimes when Rinnie is in a bad mood, he hides Tobias’s favorite toy, Max the Mouse, and Rosey’s favorite toy, Penny the Pig. This makes Tobias and Rosey so furious that they take off chasing Rinnie, shouting, "Rinnie, when we catch you, we are going to bop you on the head
