Dr. John Thomas Wylie

The Reverend Dr. John Thomas Wylie is one who has dedicated his life to the work of God’s Service, the service of others; and being a powerful witness for the Gospel of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dr. Wylie was called into the Gospel Ministry June 1979, whereby in that same year he entered The American Baptist College of the American Baptist Theological Seminary, Nashville, Tennessee. As a young Seminarian, he read every book available to him that would help him better his understanding of God as well as God’s plan of Salvation and the Christian Faith. He made a commitment as a promising student that he would inspire others as God inspires him. He understood early in his ministry that we live in times where people question not only who God is; but whether miracles are real, whether or not man can make a change, and who the enemy is or if the enemy truly exists. Dr. Wylie carried out his commitment to God, which has been one of excellence which led to his earning his Bachelors of Arts in Bible/Theology/Pastoral Studies. Faithful and obedient to the call of God, he continued to matriculate in his studies earning his Masters of Ministry from Emmanuel Bible College, Nashville, Tennessee & Emmanuel Bible College, Rossville, Georgia. Still, inspired to please the Lord and do that which is well – pleasing in the Lord’s sight, Dr. Wylie recently on March 2006, completed his Masters of Education degree with a concentration in Instructional Technology earned at The American Intercontinental University, Holloman Estates, Illinois. Dr. Wylie also previous to this, earned his Education Specialist Degree from Jones International University, Centennial, Colorado and his Doctorate of Theology from The Holy Trinity College and Seminary, St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Wylie has served in the capacity of pastor at two congregations in Middle Tennessee and Southern Tennessee, as well as served as an Evangelistic Preacher, Teacher, Chaplain, Christian Educator, and finally a published author, writer of many great inspirational Christian Publications such as his first publication: 112 “Only One God: Who Is He?” – published August 2002 via formally 1st books library (which is now AuthorHouse Book Publishers located in Bloomington, Indiana & Milton Keynes, United Kingdom) which caught the attention of The Atlanta Journal Constitution Newspaper. Dr. Wylie is happily married to Angel G. Wylie, a retired Dekalb Elementary School teacher who loves to work with the very young children and who always encourages her husband to move forward in the Name of Jesus Christ. They have Four children, 11 grand-children and one great-grandson all of whom they are very proud. Both Dr. Wylie and Angela Wylie serve as members of the Salem Baptist Church, located in Lilburn, Georgia, where the Reverend Dr. Richard B. Haynes is Senior pastor. Dr. Wylie has stated of his wife: “she knows the charm and beauty of sincerity, goodness, and purity through Jesus Christ. Yes, she is a Christian and realizes the true meaning of loveliness as the reflection as her life of holy living gives new meaning, hope, and purpose to that of her husband, her children, others may say of her, “Behold the handmaiden of the Lord.” A Servant of Jesus Christ!

    CHAPTER

    ONE

It is here that I would like to put a pen and pause to inject this most important factor which seems to disturb me about demons and their existence. A note of discerning and casting out demons should find a proper place here. It is often a ministry that has very much neglected in the modern church.

    Discerning and Casting Out Demons

The ministry of deliverance is one of the most needed ministries in the world today. Countless numbers of people are living tormented lives unable to be set free from demon powers (or possession) because neither they, nor anyone else has been able to discern their problems (or issues).

While we are here there comes the issue of whether Christians can be possessed or not with demons. Breifly, the answer is no. Why? According to God’s word we discovered that it is unscriptural for believers to be possessed with demon spirits. But the presence of demons is just as real as the presence of the Holy Spirit in the world. Millions today are tormented by their evil influence (Coburn, 1973)!

Thousands of people each year in the United States are driven to commit suicide, murder, rape, robbery and many other unholy deeds because of the possessing power of demons. Prisons and mental institutions are filled with people who committed crimes under the uncontrollable influence of evil spirits. Under examination many murderers have confessed that they didn’t know why they killed, they just felt an overwhelming urge to murder someone. What could this be but the power of demons (Coburn, 1973)?

    The Churches Neglected Ministry

Jesus and his disciples had ministries of deliverance. Everywhere they went they healed the sick and CAST OUT DEMONS! In Luke 4:18, we read these words about Jesus, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the Gospel, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to set at liberty (DELIVER) the CAPTIVES!"

"Christ came to deliver the power of Satan over humanity. His death on the cross stripped Satan of all his legal power over man, but man must be told about this wonderful GOOD NEWS. The Church in general has NEGLECTED this important ministry! We are failing to preach DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES" (Coburn, 1973).

I am not implying that all churches are dead and powerless, for there are those pastors and churches that offer true spiritual help and deliverance to the captives, but the need for discernment and spiritual power is so great across the land. Christianity should be a religion of miracles and wonderful deliverances. Christ has given us his glorious power and ability to continue his works of deliverance ... he that believeth on me, the works that I do, shall he do also ….." (John 14:12), (Coburn, 1973).

Because of tradition, and a lack of scriptural understanding concerning the believers authority over the devil, many ministers and lay Christians have never taken their place in the world as GOD’S DELIVERERS’. The need for modern day Apostolic Ministries is desperate. Thousands are crying for help, but the church has been frightened by the devil and blinded to her unlimited power through Jesus Christ"(Coburn, 1973).

    CHAPTER

    TWO

The Near Initial Success Of The Rebellion

A choice must be made, and it was made. 33% of the blessed messengers chose to take after Lucifer. This was an unspeakably awful thing. Be that as it may even so extraordinary a surrender was insufficient to guarantee the accomplishment of Satan’s disobedience. Lucifer was not all-wise in his premonition without bounds. At the point when the check was taken, the quantity of those that had tumbled to him (evil presences, or fallen blessed messengers), was shy of expectation. Lucifer had made an erroneous conclusion. Hand he absolutely known the result, it is conceivable he would have been prevented in his demonstration of foul play. Really, 66% of the saintly host stayed faithful to God, and mobilizing under the standard of the lead celestial host, Micheal they launched out Lucifer and the defiant blessed messengers from paradise (Lindsay,1972).

    Was God Taken By Surprise?

"We can’t envision that God was surprised by this. God saw the devilish soul of defiance creating in Satan’s
