About this ebook

We must meet God on the road, for he is waiting for us to come up with new and fresh ideas and strategies. God wants you to know that he is still in control or he has theocracy. God wants to remind us that we must mark our goals, plan our direction, and set out to meet him on the road of struggle. Who is on the Lords side? Do we trust God at his Word that he will never leave us or forsake us? And what role do we play in the ecumenical arena, meaning the economy of God? We cannot build safely on false foundations, for truth makes a new creature in whom old things pass away and all things will become new.

It has been recorded that not one word that God has written in the Bible has failed nor has nothing been added that cannot be explained. So what is the condition that requires God to meet you at your level? How can God help you out of the condition if you will not help yourself? You must be available to God, and then he will be available to you, for he will meet you where you need him. God will come to your level. If everyone around you is being blessed and you find yourself wanting and waiting for a blessing, did you ask God to come and meet you at your condition? Then how can God come down to your level if you will not meet him there?

To my wife, Sylvia Gavin, who helped me to keep focused and helped me keep the faith when times were difficult. To my mother, Vera Gavin, who gave me life and dreamed in her spirit that I would do better down the road. It is not with any regret that I pause to cry for her not being able to see me make it here completing a doctorate degree. To my father, Ira C. Gavin, who was so overjoyed about the process, had to stop going to school to help his mother and did not get this opportunity. To my four daughters, Syreeta, Kelynda, Kelecia, and Kenya, as you strive to make your way, know that I did it for you all. To Zamari Gavin,Veronica, and Ryan it is now your turn to go higher than your grandfather.

    BLACK ECONOMICS

    Looking Within

W hat is Black economics? Where did it come from? In addition, why is it here among us, what happened. Let me start with draw your attention to a critical matter concerning economics in the African American community. This matter is critical and crucial to the survival of the African American financial stability and socioeconomic development. In many of our communities, they have felled by the way side and it is up to the leaders and the clergy to change the direction of the conditions in the African American community. It is the responsibility of the community to police up their own communities by developing economic ways to lift the citizens to which they are leading to economic prosperity.

Therefore by directing the African American dollars toward their own financial development without any help form the established community that seeks to hold them back. The African Methodist church and the leaders of each established church must come together and deal with the social issues that is caused by the economic downturn in each community that they all serve. How can the church leaders preach the concept of feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and looking out for the least of these if they will not understand the needs of the people and create jobs for the jobless?

We have to skills and the knowledge to create our own financial
