A little thank you to all the artists who have helped me to write this book with little things you inadvertently do and say whilst drawing Tina your life model. Being humbled when I am given a painting from the session. All the little things you say and do have helped me to give an insight to the wonderful world of life modelling.

A special thank you to Wendy, Alan, Tim and Claire who have supported me and encouraged me in my chosen profession. You will never know what it feels like for you all to believe in me; it really means a lot to me. You are all very special and cherished.

And how could I forget Isobel, Natalie, Olivia and Evelyn, who bring joy and laughter with your little ways; I am so privileged being your Nutty Nanna!

As the years progressed the artists painted nothing to offend anyone so all life models looked androgynous.

Later on, life models were prostitutes plucked from the streets. The profession had certainly fallen from grace. Even today some folk still say that, I for one was told by a close friend that I was a prostitute doing life modelling.

Today, life modelling again is held in high regard; there is a respect for a life model. We are all ordinary people working in a fascinating profession.

There are lots of pictures of me that hang in people’s homes, artists plan chests, (a unit of large shallow draws that can be used to keep large and small pictures from getting damaged), there are pictures of me hanging on my walls. All of the pictures have been given to me by generous artists. How was I given the pictures? I am a Professional Artist Model.

So you want to be a life model? Read on this will inspire you and give you tips on how to get the best poses for all the artists to capture from any angle. It will
