MY LIFE’S MEMORIES
BIBLE STORY REFERENCE:
The short answer is NO! Please let me quickly reassure my readers that I believe that we should be free to believe what we choose. I believe strongly in religious freedom as so many terrible crimes in history have been committed against people when this was not allowed. I believe that religious belief has caused many more problems than it has solved.
There is a positive, and I am sorry to say, also a negative side to it as well. Believers naturally promote the positive side. That God is a God of great love, compassion, and forgiveness, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. The legacy of this is the most beautiful architecture, music, poetry, and not forgetting good works!
The negative side, never mentioned by believers, is the most appalling, and horrific crimes against humanity throughout history. I believe we should all try to learn from our history.
What I understand about religious belief is taken from my knowledge of the Bible, although I have not read from it since I was a child! I do seem to have an incredible memory. I have though considered the issues all my life of 73 years. I have a very logical mind.
The Bible is made up of many separate books and writers. I believe that the Bible message is to try to give a plausible explanation for the existence of good and evil, and the necessary salvation offered by God for sin.
