GOING FOR THE GOLD
by
P.A. Shepherd
Thomas Thaddeus Hasenspringer was very, very hungry. Think Spring!
he told himself as he hopped up and down in his house to keep warm. Thinking Spring will make things seem better!
Winter had hung on and on and on. His carrot supply had gone down, down, down; his cellar was empty, except a few cans of carrot juice.
Thomas Thaddeus Hasenspringer—or TT
as everyone called him—could hardly sleep for dreaming about the big, fat carrots that he had stolen from Farmer Thornwhacker’s garden last year or the juicy spring lettuce he had eaten right down to the ground in Mrs. Throstleworth’s garden.
