About this ebook

In the midst of trials, confusions and overwhelming issues of life, God gives urgent attention to a class of prayer: mercy prayer. We desire peace, prosperity and all-round establishment in our lives, homes, families, professions, institutions, ministries and nations. We receive all these on the platform of Gods mercies. Pray for the Mercies of God is a handbook on Gods mercies. Each chapter is succinctly written to give illumination on a dimension of Gods mercy and to spur up the passion in the reader to pray with the accompanied prayers that end the chapter. This book is divided into three sections. Section 1, What the mercies of God do, describes some benefits we can receive as a result of Gods mercies. Section 2, Grabbing hold of the mercies of God, describes the way Almighty God delights in showing endless mercies and how we can keep the rivers of His mercies continuously flowing in our lives. Sections 3, Be wise with the mercies of God, explains ways we can misuse the mercies of God, and how to be on guard against such things.

    Dedication

    To

    Mr Bamiji Ogungbaro

At that backyard where we saw you

You taught us Sunday school with your life

    Having eternity in view

You made the Word of God revive

None but Lord Christ can reward you

For mighty imprints you have made

    Keep keeping on, amid trials

Your seeds shall sure possess nations

Bringing knees bow to Jesus Christ

    In full assurance of faith

Through the thick and through the thin

Your stars are rising, local, global

Daddy Ogungbaro, know for sure that your labor of love will be rewarded in this age and in eternity. Thank you so much for being a great influence to all of us whom you taught, especially to me. God bless you.

Comments on Pray for the Mercies of God

Samuel’s book, Pray for The Mercies of God is a timely reminder of the character of our God. Ours is a God of mercy. And the earlier we start appropriating it, the better. I especially like the easy-reading style, as it helps to digest the concepts. There are prayers spread throughout the book. Pray these over yourself and your loved ones. It will pay great dividends.

    Oluwafemi Michael Taiwo, PhD

We need the mercy of God to bring about game-changing miracles that deliver from difficult situations. We rightly claim as Christians that through Jesus Christ we have been conferred with rights and privileges to bind, loose, declare, confess, agree, speak into existence those things that be not and prophesy, depending on the situation, in the name of Jesus. However, a Christian who knows better declared after he witnessed a break-through from an intractable health crisis: …..God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow. (Philippians 2:27, NIV).

Samuel, writing with the same perspective as Apostle Paul, has written this book to remind us that we shall need at some point in our lives,
