About this ebook
The Lord is my shepherd
I will not do without
He provides my comfort
I will never doubt
The Lord is my guide
Showing me where to go
I can rest in his knowledge
Not in what I know
He restoreth my soul
With strength to survive
I will not starve
Im going to stay alive
The Lord teaches me
To do what is right
Im a reflector
Of his Holy Light
In times of danger
He is my all and all
I will not be afraid
I can stand very tall
My enemies can see
That he holds me in his hand
My Gods great
He always understands
Surely goodness and mercy
Will follow me through life
I dont want to entertain
Envy or strife
I shall dwell in his house
Forever more
Accept the Lord Jesus
Go on, open up the door
Psalm 23
Debra Russell
Debra Russell enjoyed rhyming poetry as a child. She was inspired to start writing poems on her 38th birthday when her family failed to acknowledge her birthday. It is funny yet it shares her feelings. If you’re familiar with her writings she wrote Bible Story Poems, Bible Story Poems II and Poems of Psalms 1-75: these poems were written in rhyming poem form based on the stories or poetry from the bible.

Poems of Psalms 1-75 - Debra Russell
Psalm 1
Blessed is the man
That ignores ungodly advice
He doesn’t waste time
With those who aren’t nice
He spends time
Serving the living God
By following his example
He tells him where to trod
He meditates on God’s word
He does it day and night
This man is faithful
He does what is right
Like a tree by the river
His roots are deep
He produces fruit
With leaves that don’t wither, they keep
The ungodly are not rooted
The wind carries them away
They will not be judged with the righteous
No matter what they say
The Lord knows his righteous
He sees what we do
The ungodly will perish
Don’t let this be you
Psalm 2
Why are the heathens raging?
People planning in vain
Kings against our Lord
What could they possibly gain?
The Lord is not pleased
He speaks out of wrath
These kings and rulers
Are going down the wrong path
They are rejecting Jesus
They refuse to obey
The Lord laughs in displeasure
These people are going to pay
There’s a king in Zion
Sitting upon my holy hill
Declaring my son’s decree
Let me tell you how I feel
He can ask for anything
Heathens belong to him
He can possess the earth
What is wrong with them?
He will rule with an iron rod
He will break them like a pot
Serve the Lord Jesus
Don’t be in their spot
Kiss the Son
Embrace Jesus with your heart
If he gets angry
You’ll be broken apart
It could happen in a moment
His wrath will ignite
Those that trust him are blessed
They’re treating God’s son right
Psalm 3
My enemies have increased
They are troubling me
They think I’m all alone
But they can’t possibly see
Lord you are my shield
You lift up my head
I know God is here
He heard all that I said
Lord, when I cried
You heard from your holy hill
You are so sensitive
You know how I feel
I have no problems
That I can foresee
When I’m asleep
You watch over me
I won’t be afraid
If ten thousand enemies were around
You will protect me
Hearing every sound
Arise my Lord
Please save me
You broke the enemy’s teeth
They are ungodly
Put faith in God
There’s nothing to discuss
Salvation belongs to the Lord
He has blessed us
Psalm 4
Please hear me
My God of righteousness
You enlarged me
When I was in distress
Have mercy, Lord
Listen to my prayer
Peace is present
When you’re there
How long will men
Turn my glory into shame?
They are vanity seekers
Exalting their own name
God knows his children
They have been set apart
He hears my cry
When I pour out my heart
Men stand in awe
Do not sin
Examine your heart
And how things have been
Go take a rest
Lie upon your bed
Be very still
Remember what I’ve said
Sacrifice righteousness
Put trust in the Lord
We can do this
In one accord
Some will say
Who can show any good?
Lord, let your countenance shine
Like I know it could
My heart experiences
Your great joy
It’s more than a wine or grain harvest
Could ever employ
When I lie down
I can sleep in peace
You provide safety and comfort
That will never cease
Psalm 5
While listening to my prayers
You know what you will find
My God, My king
Knows the heart and mind
Early in the morning
I send my prayers to you
I wait for an answer
You know what to do
You don’t accept the wicked
They can’t stay
They won’t stand before you
With all they have to say
Liars are not welcome
Bloody, deceitful men
You are not a supporter
Of their wicked sin
Because of mercy
Your house opens to me
I will give praise
On bended knee
Lead me Lord
In your righteousness
Because of my enemy
I want to have success
We can’t trust the liar
Or believe what they say
They have wicked hearts
That know no other way
They have a mouth
Like a tomb or empty grave
They flatter with their tongues
See how they behave
Destroy them God
Let them fall on their sword
They will be rebels
Receiving a just reward
There are the faithful
That put trust in you
They rejoice and sing
Giving honor is what they do
Lord, you will always
Bless what is right
Your shield encompasses
Reflecting holy light
Psalm 6
Lord, when you’re angry
Do not rebuke me
I am so weak
Please have mercy
Lord heal me
My bones are experiencing stress
I am suffering
I had to confess
My soul is stressed
It needs help too
I cry Lord
What else can I do?
Return my God
Deliver my soul
Please save me
Make me whole
When I die
I can’t remember thee
I want to give thanks
While I can see
I’m growing weary
Crying all night
Lord please help
Make things right
My bed has become
A place for me to swim
My eyes are full of grief
My enemy made them dim
I want my enemies
To depart from me
All of those evil men
Working iniquity
The Lord heard my cry
He heard my request
My God always
