She has been writing since she was in Elementary school.

    This book is dedicated to a most special friend who I met and discovered in my first year of Junior High while skating on the lake which our waterfront hand built home property aligned. We kids on the old dirt road, but mostly in my family, shoveled the ice and took careful measure of the depth of the ice and did not shovel out the spaces where the ice reflected shallow. Some neighborhood kids shoveled out the snow on the ice between their outdoors rink and our huge outdoors rink. My Mum was a true hostess, cooking up hot dogs and warm buns, making traditional cocoa, and baking cookies for our visitors. It was delightful because had they come to the front of our house, they may not have felt that interest in knowing us more.

    So one day Jane skated over to me, and introduced herself to me as her brother’s sister, and we became friends, long term, in fact, lifetime dear friends. She was shorter than me by about 5 inches, but she was a far better skater than I was. I was trying to learn how to skate backwards, and apparently she saw me struggling and falling a lot, so she came over to show
