Preface
Every professional who has risen through the ranks, or commenced his or her career and then risen to the top, has a story to tell – whether within the context of his or her personal experience, or in terms of understanding of others while in service. Some have pleasant and fulfilled careers, while others go through bitter and regrettable journeys in their quest for career fulfilment.

How did I survive the experience? Throughout my career, I upheld certain principles and deployed specific methods which enabled me to cope with the circumstances in which I found myself. This book will explain and describe these principles and methods. The advice is particularly valuable for those who do not intend to establish their own business, but, rather, to take up a career as an employee in either the private sector or public service. However, even entrepreneurs and those who own their
