My Daily Prayer

Lord, I am a sinner and not worthy of you

I try each day to escape the sin but fail

I know that by your Grace that I am saved

Your words tell me to believe in you with all my heart and soul

I call out to you daily for your help

It is impossible for me to do this on my own

I have realized I do not have the strength of body or mind

Nor do I have the will power to secede without your help

Everything must come from you, Oh Lord

You are my strength, my power, and my fortress

If it be your will then I humble ask for your help

Strengthen and guide me each and every day throughout the year

Bring me ever closer to you and place your word in my heart

Let me use your gift of writing to bring glory and honor to you

For yours is the honor, the glory, and the power

I humbly ask and pray this in the name of your precious son, my Lord Jesus Christ.

A Matter of Faith

When I was lost and far from my Lord, he was always there with me

I did not know that I was lost for I thought I knew all things that were to be

He never left my wayward side no matter how much I strayed

He stayed with me though I broke his heart when away from him I stayed

He did not say you are too lost or I will leave you to you iniquities

My life was planned and laid out by him before I came to be

He had a plan just for me, though the plan I could not see

He knew my heart before I did for he’d given it to me

The road I traveled was not easy but one filled with thorns and pits

He did not stop me from my mistakes but let me make that trip

He knew the plan he had for me and the trials that I would face

And finally when I hit rock bottom I met Jesus face to face

He showed me that I was dying and only my faith could set me free

Long I’ve waited for you my son and now your faith has set you free

He’d waited patiently knowing my heart would eventually come to see

That I would come to Jesus Christ through faith I would bend my knees

He had made a promise long ago that by my faith I would be set free

And he fulfill that promise with Jesus when he died upon that tree

And in my shame on bent knees I clung
