and struggles that can be quite difficult, even overwhelming.
Sometimes trials can threaten to defeat us. How can we not only
cope, but conquer? The Lord is absolutely faithful and totally
trustworthy. He has given me poetry as a healing balm. He
comforts and encourages me as He teaches and leads me into a
closer relationship with Him.

Conversations With My Father

Happenings and circumstance can play games with my mind

Problems need solutions that are much too hard to find

But I have a privilege when my soul feels torn apart

Conversing with my Father about the burdens on my heart

No matter what I bring to Him, complaints or grief or pain

He always has the answer and His love remains the same

Lord, I just can’t do this. It’s impossible, I say.

That’s right, My child, it is, but through Me there is a way.

This load is much too heavy, I can’t carry it myself.

I know, My child, give it to Me. I’m always here to help.

Sometimes You seem so far away and I begin to fear.

That’s when you turn your eyes from Me for I am always near.

My life is filled with so much pain, I don’t know what to do.

I see your tears and hear your prayers and I will help you through.

The future looks unclear, I don’t know which way to go.

Just listen to My voice, dear child, your pathway I will show.

I am so unworthy, Lord, to make my petitions known.

Through My Son’s blood you’re cleansed and may approach My royal throne.

I’m sorry for my sinful past, so often I’ve confessed.

My Child, you’re clean, your sins removed as east is from the west.

I’m trying hard to know Your will and then I can obey.

Just share the love I gave to you with those you see each day.

Lord, I’m thankful for the day You knocked at my heart’s door.

I told you when you let Me in I’d stay forever more.

Deep In My Heart

You don’t always speak in the thunder

    or a mighty voice like the sea

Sometimes You speak in a whisper

    deep in the heart of me

I hurry through life so distracted

    sometimes I forget You are there

Patiently bidding me join You

    where sweet conversation we’ll share

Lord, please help me to listen

    take time to be still when I pray

For You alone have the answers

    and You will show me the way

As I humbly enter Your presence

    and wait upon bended knee

Help me to hear what You whisper

    deep in the heart of me

Forgive Me, Please

Lord, it’s me here on my knees

My need is great, oh, help me please

I’ve made a mess with my own hand

Instead of walking by Your plan

Alone I thought I’d make
