Gina M. Marinello
Gina M. Marinello, author and creator of Maggie M. Manatee, finds inspiration from observing Florida manatees in their natural habitat. These giant, yet peaceful, ancient creatures have no natural enemies yet are endangered. Gina Marinello is a native Floridian who enjoys the pristine cool waters of the state’s fresh water springs. As a child, she enjoyed “treasure hunting” with her sisters up and down the alleyways of Miami Shores, FL. They searched high and low for materials they could recycle to build extraordinary clubhouses and forts. “Inspiration comes from the most inexplicable places…when it comes, grab it and go with it…” says Gina Marinello.
