    LIFE

Life is short. It is but a vapor, swift yet serious. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Are you living a lie, an only if life, or a life that is simply existing? Are you searching for fulfillment? You were born sinful and selfish. Once saved you become different. When Jesus Christ becomes Lord of your life you have hope, a loving heart, and a heavenly home. A surrendered heart and life realizes the abundant life Jesus provides. The life Jesus gives is richer and fuller – It is eternal, yet it begins immediately. He provides forgiveness, kindness, guidance, and unconditional love.

    DEPENDENCE

Depend on God to forgive your sin, to give you guidance, to settle the score, to reward your generosity, to keep you safe and to remember your service. People who do things apart from God never realize true joy. The only real joy in life comes from being in the will of God. When you are surrendered to God and depend on Him He provides all that is best for you. As His child your happiness is important to Him.

    COMPASSION

What does compassion it really mean? Webster’s Dictionary defines it as a sympathetic feeling or mercy. So what is sympathy? Webster’s Dictionary defines sympathy as a relationship between two persons or things wherein whatever affects one similarly affects the other. Then there is mercy and Webster’s Dictionary defines it as compassion shown to an offender or a blessing resulting from divine favor. Why is compassion important to living a Christian life? Christians need to put themselves in the place of someone who is less fortunate and see people and care for them. People get discouraged and often quit – Sunday school, church, youth group, or other church associated groups. As Christians we need to be moved with compassion for our fellow Christians. God’s mercies have been extended to us and we are to have the same compassion for others. Who do you need to have compassion for today? Who do you need to extend mercy to?

    GOD SPEAKS

The Lord tells us there are many who need to be saved, but there are few who are willing to share the Good News. There are multitudes of people who are lost and need the word of God revealed to them. When Christ says there are not enough laborers what does He mean? He is telling you there is a great need for more preachers, teachers, and witnesses. He tells you to pray. As a Christian you are to pray and then put yourself on the top of the list. Christ is the example you are to follow. God’s unfinished task in this world is the harvesting of souls. There is a mission field ready for the harvest. Go forth and others will follow.

    THE BIBLE

Read through Psalm 119 and look for all the things the Bible will do for the Christian. Then look for what Christians are supposed to do with the Bible. A few of the many things the Bible will do for you is to help you grow in faith, provide you a guide for living a pure life, be a deterrent to sin, help you follow in God’s path and avoid paths of destruction. Christians are to read God’s word and use the Bible as a guidebook, obey God and live by faith. As a Christian are you reading God’s word – daily?

The Word of God will stand forever. It is settled in heaven. The Word of God is the key to defeating the devil. If you will make much of the Bible – God will make much of you.

    FEARS

God knows what you fear. He knows what causes you stress. He knows what you need. God is aware of your spiritual, physical, emotional, and financial needs. Don’t panic. Don’t worry. Don’t fear. God knows all your needs before you bring them to Him. Bringing all these things to Him gives you peace in your heart and joy in your life. Make today a day of peace and joy.

    THE SAME SIDE

I’m on the Lord’s side – If you’re on His side, then we’re on the same side. When Christians realize they are on the same side it eliminates a lot of confusion and disagreement. When you find yourself at odds with a fellow Christian don’t let this become a stumbling block. Find a common ground with that person. Talk to them, not about them. Ask them to pray with you. Give your Christian Brother or Sister a prayer request. Ask them to help you pray about a specific thing. Then ask them to tell you someone they are praying for or what one thing you can pray with them about. It is hard to be at odds with someone who is in harmony with you in prayer. Today it may be that you need to ask someone for forgiveness or open a door for them to ask you for forgiveness.

There are many ways you are to use the Bible and many things you are to do with the Bible. What should you do with the Bible today? Let’s look at some of the ways you are to use the Bible and perhaps God will give you His direction for your life today.

    1. Read it – Deuteronomy 17:19

    2. Heed it – Psalm 119:9

    3. Seed it – Matthew 28:19-20

    4. Desire it – 1 Peter 2:2

    5. Preach it – 2 Timothy 4:2

    6. Rightly divide it – 2 Timothy 2:15

    7. Live by it – Matthew 4:4

    8. Use it – Ephesians 6:17

    9. Suffer for it – Acts 5:40-42

As you read from the scripture verses listed above allow God to speak to you through His word. Follow His direction.

    THE ROAD TO HEAVEN

The message of every Christian should be that the road to heaven is the straight and narrow and the road to hell is the broad way or the path of destruction. This is the warning given in the Bible. After the warning comes salvation. Once saved Christians are to grow in becoming more like Christ. This teaching of new Christians is the responsibility of every Christian. This teaching is called discipleship. None of us would want to go before the Lord empty handed. It should be the desire of every Christian to present others to the Lord. God works through you. You must invite God to dwell in you and work mightily through you. Alone you can do nothing, but God can do all things through you. Allow God to work through you today.

    BE CERTAIN

John 3:16 is the most well known verse in the Bible. Thus verse has 25 words in it. The middle word is Son. After the word Son it talks about you. It speaks of belief and everlasting life. What will happen to you after you die? Suppose you die today and God ask you why He should let you into heaven. What would your answer be? To be certain you must be saved. Are you certain?

A DAY OF PRAYER FOR LIFE

God my Father thank you for this day you have given me. Thank you for the freedom I enjoy. Thank you for life and the sanctity of life. God help me to hide in my heart all you have taught me and to use it to help someone who is struggling with life today. Thank you for showing me the beauty of life and blessing me with a wonderful family. Father be with my family right now, watch over them and protect them wherever they are. God give me strength and desire to fulfill the mission you have for me. God help me today to be all you want me to be. In the precious name of Your Son Jesus I pray.

    Amen

    THE BEGINNING

Genesis is the first book of the Bible and it means beginning or coming into existence. Moses wrote the first few books of the Bible. God gave the words, the laws and the instructions to Moses and he wrote them down. Therefore, this book focuses on the beginning, God’s creation, how sin came to be, how sin spread, and the great flood that destroyed the earth. The later parts of this book teach you about Abraham and his family. Through the reading of Genesis you see how God leads His people. Just like God lead Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph He still leads you today – you only need to follow His leadership to be
