About this ebook

THE ENSLAVEMENT AND DIASPORA OF THE AFRICAN PEOPLE HAVE MANIFESTED LIGHT ON OUR PAINS, STRUGGLES, SUFFERINGS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS. WE WERE BROUGHT AS SLAVES, STRIPPED OF AND STRIPPED FROM EVERYTHING WE KNEW. THE RESILIENCE OF OUR PEOPLE HAS EMPOWERED US TO OVERCOME THE HARDSHIPS OF OUR PAST.

IN SPITE OF OUR CONTINOUS OPPRESSION, WE DIDNT BUCKLE UNDER BUT, ROSE WITH DIGNITY AND SELF-REALIZATION TO CHANGE. TO CHANGE NOT THE COLOR OF OUR SKIN BUT, THE WAY WE THINK, ACT AND THEREBY EMPOWER THE CONTENT OF OUR CHARACTER!

WE ARE BLACK, STRONG, PROUD, RESOURCEFUL AND INTELLIGENT!

OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS CAME AT THE EXPENSE OF SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN BEATEN, LYNCHED OR KILLED. DONT TAKE FREEDOM FOR GRANTED! I HEAR THE VOICES OF OUR ANCESTORS INSPIRING AND ENCOURAGING ME TO,SPEAK TO OUR PEOPLE FOR AFRICA CRIES!

CONSEQUENTLY, MY SPIRIT IS HUMBLED BY THE TASK GIVEN ME.

    THE BLACK MAN

The color of my skin, thoughts and actions is called black. Sometimes I am detested, rejected, humiliated because of being black. If I may ask, What is black? It is a derogatory, dehumanizing or degrading term of reference; not just used to describe but to emasculate the man in me. It represents everything and anything negative, bad, wicked, corrupt and so on.

But, that is not me! Oh, no! That is not me!

The blackness in me is loud and proud!

History is enriched by my ancestors

    Of lawyers, professors, doctors, inventors.

The list goes on like the River Nile

Overflowing the banks of civilization with knowledge, inspiration and sense of direction.

The chains no longer enslave but empower me to believe in myself and a power greater than myself. I am able to soar
