Having been in the corporate world for over two decades, working in the fields of Administration, Finance, Commercial and, Learning & Development I discovered that I had a passion in the field of Associate Wellbeing within the Personnel & Organization function. I enjoyed helping people develop from the inside out. However, in 2010 I started to go through a phase in my life where I questioned my purpose... ‘Is this all there is? Why am I not progressing at a faster pace in my career? Why am I letting it impact my personal relationships? What am I supposed to do to be happy?’ Then in 2011 a friend encouraged me to embark on a journey of self-discovery workshops through a healing modality established by a Hay House author and teacher. At the time I even questioned what was the purpose of going for the workshops but a force stronger than I pushed me to sign up for a series of three programs. Soon after the courses, positive changes began to take place in my life.

    Acknowledgments

I would specifically like to thank the following people who continue to support and guide me:

    • My husband, Dereck, who encourages me daily to do what I need to do, avoid distractions, and to just focus on the bigger picture. When I feel sad or lost or frustrated at how long it is taking to achieve what I want to achieve, you always remind me that everything will work out in the end. You did this throughout my corporate tenure, and I thank the Creator that you patiently continue to do so in my new career as a writer, and any additional paths I choose to follow. I would also like to thank you for your patience and love, for I can, as a wife and partner, throw in some challenging questions and scenarios. It is your calm, logical, and supporting manner that is my profound anchor.

    • My parents, Andrew and Alzira---thank you for the teachings and for spurring me on to read and learn more about the world as I grew up and till today---for encouraging me to become confident and learning gratitude for all that we have. Thank you for the love, joy, patience, and tears, as with each experience I grew stronger and learned to become interdependent with your guidance and blessings. Thank you for teaching me to be curious and ask questions.

    • My brother, Alan, for embodying patience and faith in God. I am grateful to God and His universe for bringing you closer to us. We learn so much from your quiet strength, patience, and unfailing belief in God. You are truly deserving of the great success of your own dreams and vision.

    • My sister-in-law, Loretta, one of the strongest women I have the privilege of knowing--- overcoming many personal obstacles, launching her own business, and helping those who call on her for help. Your determination to succeed and focused approach to handling what life brings you is inspirational. Your sons are pillars of strength who bring joy and laughter where ever they go.

    • Hubert and Shirley, thank you for your acceptance, kindness, generosity and wisdom. Your calm approach to life is indeed remarkable. Your experiences of being a teacher, be it in a classroom or in life, is inspirational and continues to inspire my journey.

    • My phenomenal teachers, Sumant and Sumeet Kaul, I thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance. I am truly grateful and honored that God has blessed me with you both in my life. You are both insightful and discerning, kind and firm, and most importantly you are true teachers---guiding, coaching, and encouraging me to discover the beauty of my own path. Your belief in my own phoenix rising encourages me to soar and yet stay grounded. Your teachings on the Law of Karma continue to amaze me and feed my curiosity about the metaphysical realm. Your students are indeed blessed, and their successes are a testimony to your dedication to help change the world through God and with His Unconditional Love.

    • Vianna Stibal, the founder of Thetahealing®, the three courses that I attended jump-started my passion for discovering more about myself. Thank you for your teachings. It is through these courses that I met inspirational people such as yourself, the phenomenal teachers Sumant and Sumeet Kaul, and their soul family members in Dubai, Jordan, and India.

    • Raghida Odeh, I would like you to know that you are indeed a very special person, now one of my dearest friends and part of my soul family. Thank you for your continued love and support. I am truly grateful for your constant encouragement and belief in me to teach and write. Thank you for introducing me and my family to your beautiful family. Your generosity and work with the special needs adults at Kamal Gardens is inspirational!

    • Tina Colbert and the team at Balboa Press, thank you for your beautiful words of encouragement, support, and for all that you do on this amazing planet, Mother Earth.

    • All creations that passed through my life: my pets, my homes, the countries I travelled to, the people I met, the animals who crossed my path---on the streets, in the skies, in enclosures---and to all who continue to grace my life, I thank you for your beauty, courage, history, grace, inspiration, and dignity.

    • All of my nearest, and dearest ones, who are in my life as my extended family, including Jordan, who teaches me about life through a child's eyes, I thank you all for the joy, laughter, and support over the years. I look forward to the coming years filled with mutual admiration and love.

    • My dearest friends who continue to support me with their love and encouragement, I am honored to be called your friend, and all those who pass through my life, I thank you for the amazing experiences and lessons.

I wish you all the Creator's unconditional love, abundance, and blessings.

It is my honor and privilege to be blessed with your individual light that you shine throughout this world. God bless you and God bless us all.

And finally, to the most benevolent and generous teacher, the Creator of All That Is. I thank you for my life, my family, my teachers, my experiences, for being my protector, guide, and mentor, and for showing me the beauty of your world and of your universe, and for continuously blessing me on my journey to discovering who I am.

    Thank you.

    Introduction

In January 2011 I was at a point in my life where I had no questions left to ask and no answers to look forward to. I was encouraged to embark on a journey of self-discovery through a healing modality established by another Hay House author. Having been in the corporate world for most of my life---specifically as Well-being Associate in the human resources department I was not entirely convinced, as I viewed it from a corporate structure rather than a metaphysical one, but a force stronger than I pushed me to sign up for a series of three classes.

It was in the last day of the program when we were told to write down what we really wanted out of our lives that my life started to change. I naturally switched into the human resources mode and approached the task as a year-end appraisal, even doing a five-year plan outline. The remarkably intuitive teacher in the class took one look at the list and said that this is not what I will be doing. He said that one of my divine missions was to write. The class ended, I returned back to my usual routine, and I forgot about it. For the rest of the year, I continued with my duties in my personal and professional life. I enjoyed my work despite the frustrations and the various people I encountered on the job. There were tears, but there was laughter too. Towards the end, though, there seemed to be more tears than joy. I felt that I was no longer meant to be there and started thinking about resigning but was adamant not to do so. It is a big step. So I asked God to help me make the right decision at that time, and I carried on going to work. Now when you ask God for help, you should truly understand that your life is going to change. Things at the office started to get weirder and weirder, keeping in mind that I was not ready to leave at that stage. After three months, I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and heard a voice telling me that it was time. I was even given the date to submit my resignation!

This was not the first time I had heard this beautiful, clear, gentle---and sometimes tinged with fatherly firmness---voice.

What followed were years of spiritual healing and self-discovery. Was it all smooth sailing? Of course not! I mean, who likes to hear the truth about themselves and their unbalanced egos unless it is all sugar and spice and you are all right? There were a lot of learnings, self-realizations, and tears---oh, so many tears! I discovered that these tears were a form of releasing all the pent up emotions, suppression, regrets, and experiences that I had throughout my life. Keep in mind that I was new to this healing concept. Then came the fears---irrational and persistent fears. Suffice it to say that I was not comfortable and was ready to give up. Thank God for my family, teachers, and closest friends!

I started writing a book but discovered very quickly that it was not the book's time. I stopped and carried on with my spiritual journey. I discovered so much more about myself. I discovered how to talk to the Creator once again. I learned about the Laws of the Universe---specifically the Law of Karma and Karma Healing. I am still learning about this incredible law, as well as the Laws of Compassion, Magnetism, Attraction, and that of Gratitude. I learned about the wondrous world of Neuro Linguistic Programming and discovered a different avenue for obtaining resources, too.

It was finally in November 2013 that I got the calling to pick up the pen and start writing once again. I am glad I was guided to wait, as the initial attempt of my first book differed vastly in comparison to this version.

I trust that you enjoy reading this book as part of your journey towards finding your own purpose in life, your divine mission, and discovering your true identity in this remarkable universe.

    Chapter 1

WHAT IS IT ABOUT LOVE THAT APPEARS TO BE SO ELUSIVE TO US ALL? At any given point in our lives, we are constantly looking for this emotion in something, someone. Be it outside or inside us, we are constantly searching.

What is it about us that---when we actually experience it---we fall prey to doubt and jealousy? Why do we agonize about the smallest thing? What does the actual emotion feel like? Taste like? Look like? How many times have you settled for what you thought was best, and it wound up looking like you just messed up? What we are seeking here is not what we experience at the source of love itself, so what chance do we have on earth? Are we truly settling for what we can get or for what is best for us as we are guided inevitably by our hearts?

Science, including metaphysics, is unearthing new discoveries in terms of how our body system functions. It has been proven over the past decades that what we feel emotionally is manifested in our physiology, but in the new wave of enlightenment being experienced right now, it appears to be far more profound than we realized. There are those who prefer to abide by the rules of the laws, asking for more and more proof, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is just a matter of eventually having faith in yourself, faith that you come from a place that is All That Is, including life, joy, bliss, abundance, faith, wealth, health, eternity, infinite possibilities, and love.

Love is not a compromise; it is a promise of the rewards that are yet to come. It is a matter of opening our eyes, our hearts, and our minds to see what we currently have and what we truly want to manifest in our lives, be it a great career, business, family, or legacy.

So who are you, really? Where do you come from? Are we made from sugar and spice? Or from snips and snails and puppy dog tails? God---our Creator, the source, the universe---is ready to give us what we so desire. Yet it is the inherent limiting beliefs we harbor---that we have to work really, really hard for it or we have to struggle to appreciate what we have and what we get---that prevent us from obtaining and understanding the higher value, the highest self-realization, of why we do not get what we desire. This builds up the frustrations and angst that further block us from understanding how to proceed. Have you figured out what beliefs and defense mechanisms have blocked you from achieving your true desires?

It is not just a question of asking. It is much, much more than this. It is about knowing---knowing why we are here, what our purpose is, and what to ask for. Once we understand why we are here, we will have a better understanding of knowing what to ask for. Is it easier to preach than to do? Oh yes, for sure it is, because to do means facing the truth in ourselves, and that can be daunting. It is the inherent false beliefs that block us from taking that remarkable leap of faith.

We as human beings sometimes resort to our baser instincts in terms of survival, riches, or pure pleasure, never thinking of what's next. We think merely of how to get to where we think we want to get. After all, it is these instincts that have endured for thousands of years, so why change now? Have you ever wondered, why do we not ask ourselves 'why not?' Why not change the patterns and programs we have? Whose patterns and programs do they really belong to? Our parents? Grandparents? How much is from this life and from those of past lives? Or even from another dimension? Why not find a better solution to what we think is best? Why not ask someone to help us? Why not ask those who have mastered the art of mastering their emotions, bodies, and journeys? Why not seek knowledge instead?

Why do some people's brain chemicals make them sociopaths or psychopaths, while others appear to conform to the normalcy of life? Scientists have been studying this for decades. Is it just enough to say that the brain chemicals differ, so let's load them up with more chemicals to balance the person? How does a human being balance his or her internal chemistry otherwise? What about people like you and me? What do we do? Medical science is a gift and so is alternative therapy-they complement each other in the healing process. So what would be the right steps for you or me?

Psychology has for decades argued that it is a matter of nature versus nurture, while other fields prove it's in the DNA, that it's inherited from our ancestors or even from our past lives---or the past lives of our ancestors. So for how long are we going to lay blame at the doorsteps of our parents and our ancestors? When are we going to
