I fell in love with the life of fantasy mixed with reality. I wanted to write the same twisted, unrealistic love story for this book since it’s my first novel. I am a fan of fiction, and I adore the wonders and possibilities it can lead you. It was always my dream to live in the world of my characters. I do for them what I would wish for me.

Mommy and Daddy, I love you. You two are the light that lead me through a dark alley and without your guidance, care, love and support, I could have been another bad seed. Thank you for keeping your teen safe. My main thanks goes out to my best friend. . . Sabrina Louis. In middle school {P.M} you always supported me and gave me confidence and hope, and for that I want to thank you. Even though we’re so far away now. . . I know for a fact, you can never replace a friend like me. I love you, Sabby and I hope you enjoy the book. This book is also dedicated to the characters who I must definitely thank. Without you guys there wouldn’t be a story to write about, and I hope you enjoy the fact that your story is being read by everyone and anyone. This wasn’t easy, but I knew with the help of my supporters and lovers I would accomplish my goal. This one is for you my brunettes!

The broken glass windows and dried up blood prove the violence that had happened three hours ago in the small two bedroom apartment planted in the roots of Jacksonville, Florida. There in a dark corner near the destruction rested seventeen-year old, Noemi, whose been crying from heartache and physical pain the whole night. Noemi was only fourteen when she left home to go off and live with a twenty-three old abusive boyfriend. Noemi teared her eyes out until she couldn’t cry no more and every single part of her body ached. Her beautiful face was now ruined with black and blue marks, her arms swollen with deep cuts, her hair tussled and all of her fingers from the left hand was broken. Every part of her was in pain. Her mind, her delicate soul, even her heart which pump frantically inside her chest. It’s been awhile since she felt a pain so memorable, so great, and now that she had to relive it again, she was torn and shattered into million tiny pieces. Morning came and she stayed there, face covered with the palm of her hands and legs stretched out long on the bloody stained white carpet. I need to get out of here. she whispered to herself with so much sadness and regret. Noemi let out a deep struggle breath as she tried to stand on her tired feet, her heart denting in her chest with every thump. She slowly stood to her feet, her legs wobbling as she tried to stand. Tiny shatter glass pieces from the coffee table sting the bottom of her feet, but she didn’t care, she allowed the glass to sink into the tarsals. Noemi will always regret the day she ported out of her parents’ roof. Even though they were just as bad, at least she went to school, drove a car and was able to leave the house when allowed. With Gabriel, she felt like a trap animal. She simply couldn’t do anything, whatever she did would get her in trouble. He acted more as a strict parent than someone she shared the bed with. No matter what she did, no matter how, she would always get beat up. The time seem to move in slow motion as Noemi took baby steps leaving one place getting to the other. Her fair-brown skin had scratch marks all over and she looked as if kindergarteners drew on her with colored markers. Noemi sobbed while peeling off her clothes, her hands shaking uncontrollably as the thought of her never escaping from her misery. Noemi reached for the brass knobs that turned on the water, she allowed the hot water to hit her open cuts as she cringed slightly. Her body melting and pain decreasing, she closed her eyes as the sensational feeling eased her mind off of things. Noemi stayed in the tub until the water ran cold, she then quickly got dress and laid her damage body on the bed. Get up! he growled, hitting her lightly. Noemi immediately rose from her sleep, scrubbing her eyes as she slowly gazed up at a stone face Gabriel. Put some clothes on, we taking you to a hospital. Hurry up! without a thought she quickly got dress, her body battered and head pounding. You better hurry the fuck up, Noemi before I change my mind! she rushed out the bedroom. Look at this? You see this? Huh, you see it? Gabriel shouted as he pointed a finger at the mess. You ain’t good for shit! You see this fucking mess, bitch! I’ve been gone for hours, and I still find this place the same way I fucking left it! he growled, his Mexican face turning dark red. I don’t know when the fuck are you going to learn! When the fuck are you going to have some fucking sense! Huh? When? And you wonder why I beat you! You wonder why I’m so damn tough on you! his voice getting louder by the second. With every word he screamed out of his mouth he came a step closer to Noemi. You sit your ass here all day not doing shit! The hell you good for, huh? Huh, Noemi? Tell me what your good for! she didn’t know what to say as her chest heaved up and down, sweat began to form on her forehead. Answer me! Noemi let out a gasp as her bottom lip began to tremble. Answer me! he demanded once more. I-I Noemi stammered as tears poured out of her eyes. Gabriel jaw clenched tightly as she watched him wrap his hand around her fragile neck, pinning her violently on the wall. Gabriel watched as her face turned blue, and a demented smile spread across his face. You can’t breathe, can’t you? he spoke through gritted teeth. His grip got tighter and his alcohol breath invaded her nostrils. Gab, please, Noemi managed to whisper. Reluctantly he loosen his grip, his eyes burning holes through her body. Gabriel stared at Noemi for a brief second, his face unreadable. Fear rushed through Noemi’s body as her tears came continuously. Gabriel leaned to her face and kissed her roughly, his hands roaming on her body, feeling every curve as he palmed her round ass. I’ll tell you what your good for, he smiled through his kiss. The reason I keep you around is because you got some good Kitty! he laughed in her face then pecked her on the cheek. Let’s go. The emergency room was crowded with many people as they sat on chairs and waited in lines to see medical attention. Gabriel pointed to an empty seat and Noemi sat down while he went up to the front desk to sign the forms. Noemi looked around nervously as the curious eyes scanned her appearance down, feeling nothing but sympathy for the brunette teen. This should be my chance to run, she thought to herself as her limbs began to shake. Noemi frantically looked from side to side seeking a quick easy way out so Gabriel wouldn’t notice her leaving. Noemi quickly hopped on to her feet and quickly try running to the exit. An old white woman with a walking stick was heading her direction, obviously trying to find a seat. Excuse me sweetheart, the old lady smiled. Noemi let out a shy smile as she let her get through. She then glanced back at Gabriel who had his back turned against her. Please hurry up, she hurried the old woman in her mind. The granny finally took herself a seat, she glanced back up at Noemi and said, Such a pretty girl, you’re lovely even with your scars. Noemi was too busy brushing pass people to even acknowledge the old dame compliment. Noemi reached to the exit door and felt her heart rate speed up, she wanted to cry with joy. She was so close to her freedom she could almost taste her new non-Gabriel life. Just when she was about to take a step, a firm grip stopped her, almost dragging her back inside the building. You got five seconds to walk your ass back over there and take a seat, waiting for me like a good little black bitch. His eyes whispered the consequences if she didn’t apply. Noemi fought tears as she made her way back to her seat. She couldn’t breathe as her reality hit her like a ton of bricks. Gabriel took the forms and sat comfortably next to Noemi. This was a huge mistake. Trying to flee in public only infuriated him more and she could tell by the way he was signing his name on the paper, there was going to be hell to pay when they got home. What was I thinking? I’m so stupid. They waited hours until finally she was called. Noemi Browne, the doctor would like to see you now. A pretty blonde hair nurse said as she gazed around the room for the patient. Gabriel arose from his seat, snapping his fingers at Noemi as if she was a pet rather than human. Nothing but fear was pumping through her right now, Noemi was terrified about the news she was going to receive, and being known to be Gabriel’s chick a lot things could be possible. And she worried for the worst as she stared at the eyes of a handsome dark skinned male with Cognac-brown eyes. Her eyes lit up and unknowingly she blushed. Hello, Ms. Browne, I’m doctor Meyer. he said softly as he extended his hand so she can grab it, she didn’t want to because she feared what Gabriel would do to her, but then again she didn’t want to be rude. She graciously held his hand, which by the way was the softest hand she had ever touched. Temperature speaking, he was extremely hot, but that wasn’t enough of a reason to let go of his hand. Gabriel let out a sarcastic chortle as he stepped in between them, forcing them to let go of each other’s hand. You can wait out here, Mr.— Dr. Meyer paused once he realized he didn’t know the young man’s name. Gabriel cleared his throat, shifting his stance uncomfortably as the thought of him leaving Noemi alone with a stranger turned his stomach with worry. He didn’t want her blabbing about their relationship, he feared the consequences that would come if anyone knew what he was doing to a minor. Her age alone could get Gabriel into a lot of complication, knowing that she’s under age and he would get charged for it. Jimenez. Mr. Jimenez. he replied. I think it would be best if I stood beside her at all times. She’s very important to me and I want nothing but the best for my cousin. Gabriel stated as he tried to make his way inside the hospital room. That won’t be necessary Mr. Jimenez. I’ll assure you Ms. Browne will be just fine. I need some time alone with her, I want to ask her a few questions, nothing too major. Just a few checkups and blood test. Dr. Meyer answered politely he made his voice extra calming so Gabriel would ease off the skeptical behavior. Reluctantly, Gabriel backed off, he gave Noemi a look that only she could understand. Alright. Alright, do your thing Doc. he mumbled, his eyes never leaving Noemi’s face. Thank you, Mr. Jimenez, appreciate your understanding. the doctor closed the door leaving Gabriel outside the room by himself. When it was just him alone with Noemi she felt more relaxed as she blew out relief. Is he always this protective? the doctor giggled as he washed his hands in the sink, he then dried them with a towel, putting on gloves so he can start working on Noemi. No. His just worried that’s all. she lied with a fake smile. The doctor eyed Noemi for a long second making her feel more embarrass than she already was. You’re very fragile. he stated randomly as he examined her striking features. He was at bliss as he took her appearance in. Noemi was such a beautiful girl, she was perfect in every way and it pained him to see her so torn and frightened. Noemi didn’t answer him as she kept her eyes glued on the floor. Dr. Meyer lifted her chin up, his gaze was filled with query. How did this happen? Noemi shifted her head to the other side so she couldn’t see his eyes when she replied with another white lie. I fell.

How? What were you doing? he pushed.

Something I thought I could handle. she answered. The doctor was going to ask another one but Gabriel’s knocks told him that he needed to get to work. And what exactly was that? he whispered as he turned her head from one side to another, studying her bruises. His touch was so gentle and voice so kind and caring. Noemi didn’t know if this was how he was supposed to act or was this just who he really was. I don’t like talking about my stupidity. she chuckled lightly, her eyes stuck on the ceiling. Dr. Meyer cracked a small smile as he tilted her head to the side viewing her face from all angles. Making a mistake doesn’t make you stupid. You’re just curious. Too full of suspense and blind happiness, not stupid. he finally removed his hands from her face and walked back over to the sink. He took off his gloves and dispose them in the trash. I’m going to run a few testes on you. Give you a couple of shots, have you on a few medications. You seem to be lacking sleep and have little appetite. You’re not in good health conditions and I would suggest you get a lot of rest and eat as much as you need to. You need to eat. Noemi nodded her head in understanding as she fiddled with her thumbs. The bruises will heal. It’ll take some time but they’ll heal. I’ll give you some medication for them as well. he kept his eyes on her, gazing at her with worry as he watched her intertwine her fingers together, her nerve system high as her body quivered and eyes watered. What about my hand? she sniffed. Dr. Meyer walked back over to her and grabbed both of her hands gently. What’s wro— he stop mid-question as he notice her left hand was slightly bent and numb to any touch, swollen and red too. All of a sudden his voice changed and his calm puzzled face was now heated and vexed. You fell right? his voice thick with sarcasm. Noemi didn’t speak a word to him as the familiar tone caused goosebumps to appear on her forearm. Please just heal me. I just want to heal. she mumbled desperately. The doctor can sense an abusive relationship, it was floating all around her. You know you can leave right? You’re too young to be around him anyway. What were you thinking? Where are your parents? Don’t they care? his voice low, but the displeasure was herd. I just want you to heal me. Noemi pleaded, her eyes dropping rain. So you can come back the next week with another bruise? Another injured body part? Dr. Meyer yelled, but his voice volume low. Noemi opened her mouth to speak but another knock at the door caused her to press her lips tightly. His my older cousin, it’s not what you think. She quickly responded, trying to make light of the situation. Her fear for Gabriel was deep and she knew no matter what, who, how or when she’d be saved, he would always come for her, he would always hurt her. He always did and he always will. The last time Noemi got away she almost lost her vision. He had her tied down in his basement with a cloth wet with bleach tied around her face, covering her eyes. He had beaten her until she couldn’t stand no more. She was a salve. His slave, his property and she couldn’t take any more chances. Gabriel owned her. This was her fault though, she was the one who wanted to act grown and flee out of her parents’ house at fourteen, so now she had to face the fate of her actions. Dr. Meyer! Gabriel barked from the outside. Dr. Meyer rolled his eyes and went to open the door. Mr. Jimenez? Gabriel was obviously upset and his mind told him it shouldn’t take that long just to get a few bruises checked. Is there a problem? What’s the hold up? he asked through gritted teeth. Dr. Meyer returned his malice stare but didn’t eat teeth. He wasn’t sinking to that level. We’re almost finish. I just need to run a couple of testes.

    Like what? Gabriel questioned harshly.

Sign her prescriptions and run blood test. Gabriel scoffed as veins began to form on his temple. He was through with the waiting, he wanted to get Noemi away from all of these people. Who knew how long she would stay quiet. Look, you need to hurry this up alright? We got things to do. Dr. Meyer simply nodded his head and continued to work on Noemi with the watchful eye of Gabriel. He gave her seven shots, injecting each one in different locations, he had Noemi on three medication pills and explained to Gabriel that she needed more food in her system, she needed to rest. The car ride was silent as they drove on I-95 heading down to their apartment. Noemi fidgeted in her seat as the scowl on Gabriel’s face had her on edge. She didn’t know what was to come next from this heartless man and her mind told her the worst as her heart began to thump wildly inside her body. Fear causing her palms to sweat as she tried to hold back tears. What did you tell him? the silence was finally broken. Nothing, nothing, I swear to God, I said nothing. she replied truthfully. Don’t fucking lie to me bitch! You know lying only makes it worst! he warned her as he swerved in and out of traffic. I swear to God! I swear on my life, I said nothing. he didn’t say another word after that. Gab parked his car on the parking lot hopping out of his car along with Noemi not too far behind. Once we step inside this house, you’re going to fucking clean all that fucking mess off the floor and take your ass a fucking shower then eat something. You hear? You fucking understand? Noemi nodded her head as she trembled. Gabriel smacked her upside her head. I want an answer! he shouted. Y-yes, I hear you, I understand Gab. Noemi did what was asked of her. She cleaned the house, cooked and ate dinner, then called it a day even though it was only three in the afternoon. The same routine took place until one day Gabriel came home with a surprise. A surprise that would change her life forever.

Noemi stood in front of the bathroom mirror her head tilted back as she stuffed her nose with tissue paper, trying to stop the blood from running out of her nose. She just had a fight with Gabriel an hour ago and like many time before he reasoned with her through violence. This will be the last time I let him hit me. she told herself as she washed her face with alcohol and dabbed her burst lip with salt water. When she thought the bleeding had stop for sure, she exist out the bathroom. On her way to the bedroom she heard the front door open then closed quietly, as if the person didn’t want their presence to be known. She didn’t even budge because she already knew who the burglar was at this time of the night. She hurriedly walked inside the room, locking herself in as her heart played its own musical note in her chest. She thought maybe, just maybe, if she minded her own business, pretended as if she didn’t hear him come in, maybe he would leave her alone. She really hope he would. Noemi! Noemi! Noemi, come down here, come here baby, daddy got a surprise for you. Hurry up, Noemi! Gabriel screamed in excitement. Noemi rolled her eyes to the ceiling and made her way down to him. Hurry up, girl! his voice echoed through the apartment walls. I’m coming baby. she sang in fake enthusiasm. Her eyes rolling to the back of her head, trying to follow the voices she heard as they guide her to the front door. There, she saw Gabriel standing next to a white face dark brown hair woman. She wasn’t too much to look at but she wasn’t ugly either. Good, good, I’m glad you wanted to join us. Gabriel said, his tongue dancing around his lips as he glanced at both woman. Noemi, this is Kasey and Kasey, this is Noemi. he introduced the two. Noemi plastered a fake smile. She quickly notice how Kasey was sizing her down in disgust and jealousy. Noemi didn’t know if the nasty glares were because she didn’t like her or felt like she was better than her. Either way, she shouldn’t be judging too soon because she, herself will get the same treatment from Gabriel if she planned to stick around. Now, you two will have to play nice because the two of you will be seeing each other a lot and I need you both on your best behavior at all time. I don’t want none of that drama cat-fight shit, so keep your distance if you two don’t like each other. I want this house to be in one peace when I come through and I definitely want you both to be at my every need. No matter what it may be. We all are here to make money and run good business. So I won’t tolerate no bullshit from no body. Understand? he laid the rules down flat and clear. His crooked devilish grin displayed his obsession of owning two woman. Having two girls living in the same house was heaven on earth for Gabriel. He always wanted to live that lifestyle were you got one girl cooking, cleaning, and taking care of home while the other one is the freak, the boss lady, and the entertainer. And to add sugar on top, you can sleep with both girls whenever you wanted. Hearing Gabriel speak those words was like a slap to the face for Noemi. She wanted to hurl as she thought about the things she know he was going to ask her to do. Noemi looked at Gabriel in disbelief as he stared back with a stone hard face. She always knew nothing but selfish bad ways would come out of this man. Gabriel didn’t care about no one but himself. He was greedy, selfish, untrustworthy, abusive, cold-hearted, and violent. So much violence. And that was only some of his shameful ways, which was one of the million reason why Noemi desperately wanted to leave. What happened to your face? Kasey asked with sass in her voice. Gabriel shot Noemi a look that told her to lie, and it had to be a good lie. I got into a fight at school. But, I’m okay now, her voice uneven. She gazed her eyes at Gabriel to see if he approved with the false story, and he simply just nodded his head secretively but his face stayed the same. He kept his cool, but deep down he was hoping like hell Kasey believe the story. I only asked one question. I didn’t need to know if you were okay or not. she responded rudely, shoving Noemi as she made her way inside the house. That’s exactly when Noemi realized that this chick was definitely going to be a problem. Noemi didn’t even react to her because she knew she had better things to stress about than to worry about a prostitute. Make sure your face is covered up with that make-up shit you carry around, you look fucking disgusting, Gabriel whispered through a tight jaw. He also pushed Noemi roughly out the way. Nothing but tears of regret soaked her face as she thought of how her life was going to end. She needed to get out of here, she needed a plan so she could flee from Gabriel’s clutches. She just had to come up with an idea, something that can save her from this hell known as her life. Five months went by and things only got vilest with Gabriel and Kasey in the house. She’s only been sharing the roof with Kasey for five months and she was already thinking about killing her. Noemi sat in the living room watching television as Kasey heels lugged around the house loudly. She needs to go sit the hell down with all that click-clacking in my damn ears! Noemi thought in annoyance. She watched as Kasey walked around as if she was the owner of the house, as if she was the only wife. Envy, jealousy, and hatred burned inside Noemi’s chest as she grew more irritated with Kasey. Kasey was Gab’s favorite girl in the house. She was the one he took on shopping sprees, dinner, wining and dining, parties and movies. She was the one he loved flaunting on his arm while Noemi stayed home cleaning, being around at their hand and feet, feeling like a maid, feeling forgotten. Have she tried to escape from the disrespect? Yes, she tried numerous time before but they all backfired, which only made her life even more miserable. So, she decided that she was going to let death be her escape. Noemi no longer cared about her life. She figured if it was meant for her to depart from him, then she would have been in New York right now. Where she always dreamed of living, raising two beautiful girls with a beautiful husband. But, those dreams had to be thrown away because that was never going to happen. She turned off the television and picked up one of her novels and began to read. I have no clean clothes. Kasey whispered to herself, but she spoke loud enough so Noemi could hear her. A wicked grin slowly crawled on her face as she glanced at Noemi, who was reading. Noemi, you need to do the fucking laundry! I have no clean clothes. These clothes been staring at me for the past three days, I’m surprise it didn’t bother you enough to clean them! You good for nothing. her heels tapping lightly on the tile floor. It didn’t matter where Kasey was, you would never catch her without heels on her pale feet. Noemi didn’t answer, didn’t even give her the respect to look her in the eyes. Why don’t you clean it yourself? It’s not that damn difficult, just put the clothes in the washer, and there you go, clean clothes. Noemi replied fearlessly. Nothing about Kasey intimidated her. She mostly saw her as a dumb brat who would always need someone picking up after her. Kasey was below Noemi in so many levels it wasn’t amusing anymore. Noemi beaten her in everything. The twenty-three year old had nothing on the now eighteen year old, Noemi. Noemi was better than her in what counted most. She was prettier than Kasey, wiser than Kasey, classier and more sophisticated. Noemi was wife material for sure, but because Kasey was the one bringing in more money home, Gabriel favored her more. Kasey did everything and anything to fatten Gab’s pockets. She was a rider and she was loyal to him, and she did it because she loved him. Noemi on the other hand wasn’t risking her life for Gabriel, she couldn’t even stand the sight of him, let alone risk her dignity for him. She couldn’t understand why Kasey was giving so much to a man who didn’t even respect her half of the time. Instead of you sitting your ass around doing nothing, why don’t you make use of yourself and fucking clean the house for once? Noemi mumbled. Kasey didn’t even warn Noemi with the punch she delivered in the back of her head. What? What did you say? Kasey screamed loudly, letting her fist touch Noemi’s neck again. She didn’t know how to defend herself either, so screaming gave her a rush, an unexplainable power. Noemi calmly stood, balding her fist, returning the blow. Don’t put your hands on me! Ever! You hear me? You fucking hear me! Both girls scrambled on the floor trying hard to defeat one another. You dirty whore! Noemi yelled while banging Kasey’s head on the carpet floor viscously. Both woman were biting, scratching, kicking, punching and pulling hair as they try to knock each other out. Hey! Hey! Gabriel’s voice boomed through the house, sending cold shivers down her spine but she wasn’t scared enough to stop her violence act on Kasey. Gabriel yanked Noemi off of Kasey, smacking both of them across the face. Kasey’s jaw drop in shock, for her this was the first time he’d put his hands on her. But for Noemi, it was more like a reminder of how cruel he was. Are you fucking insane! What the hell did I tell you two, huh? What did I say? I don’t want none of this bitch-fighting shit! he growled, his eyes and face turning red from anger. Gab! Oh, Gab, honey, I was only telling her that it was her turn to do the laundry, but this black bitch got a smart mouth. I couldn’t just stand there and let her talk to me however she wanted to. I just couldn’t. She have no respect for me whatsoever! Kasey tried to explain. Gabriel turned his head to Noemi, she saw the fire dancing inside his eyes and she tried to get her part out before he could touch her. Gabriel, I—. but it was too late. His fat hands was already around her fragile neck. The hell were you thinking? he spoke through gritted teeth. She wasn’t fucking thinking! Kasey roared as she tried to comb her hair with her fingers. Noemi’s eyes bugged out of her head as she tried desperately to breathe air. That’s right, chock the life out of her! Kasey laughed. Gabriel finally loosen his grip when her face started to turn light blue. She drop to the floor, gasping all the air she needed as possible to get her strength back. You assholes will regret everything you ever did to me. Noemi sobbed, she bit the bottom of her lip as she shivered in fear. What? What did you say? Gabriel spoke in annoyance. See what I mean? She got a quick tongue! Kasey said while nodding her head up and down, pleased to see that her point was proven. He bent down so he could look her in the eye. He stared long and hard at Noemi and for the first time his heart actually felt sorry for what he did. Gabriel actually did love Noemi, it’s just that he thought by showing her tough love it would gain him respect. But instead he received fear from her along with hatred. He smiled at her as if she was nothing but a joke. Don’t let your tongue get your teeth knocked out. he calmly said as he laughed directly in her face, his saliva sprinkling all over her gorgeous face. Noemi had enough of everything, she was tired of being the punching bag as her brown eyes spoke threats that would never leave her mouth. You and your HIV disease spreading whore will dread the day I get my revenge. Noemi warned one last time under her breath. What! HIV spreading whore! Kasey howled, marching her way to Noemi, slapping the taste out of her mouth. Sit down and let me handle this, bitch! Gabriel shouted at Kasey as he grabbed her elbow roughly, pushing her away from

Noemi. Well, handle it then! Kasey shot back, pulling a cigarette stick out of her bra, intentionally keeping her composure. You better get your slick mouth up to your room, before I beat the life out of you. Gabriel advised before he walked out the living room.

Noemi heard the loud commotion coming from the other room where Gabriel and Kasey rested in. It sounded like the perfect couple was finally having some trouble. Kasey’s voice was loud enough to have sleepy neighbors screaming for her to shut up. Shut up! Don’t you dare tell me that, you asshole! she cried with a broken heart. Her madness blazing surpass the roof. Noemi had to laugh when she heard their bedroom door shut forcefully. She remembered the first time Gabriel and her had an argument. Her voice was as deafening as Kasey’s and the feeling of power was racing through her body. But, the only difference between her fights with Gabriel was that he wasn’t beating on Kasey’s like he had done to her. She heard a few more wails come from them, then Kasey sprung out the front door, heated and vexed. Noemi was wishing that Kasey finally decided she deserved better than the crap she dealt with Gabriel. Then again, deep down she wish she would stay forever. Only because when he was with Kasey, Noemi had some peace. Gabriel practically forgot if she even lived with him sometime. Right when Noemi was about to fall back asleep her bedroom door swung wide with extreme force, causing the door knob to make a hole on the wall. Get the hell up! I need a bottle of Hennessey, there’s twenty bucks on the kitchen table. Hurry your ass up! reluctantly she arose out of bed, getting herself ready to walk the miles. She ran through the store like a lightning bolt, getting his alcohol and thinking about keeping the rest of the money. He wouldn’t realize it was gone until it was too late. Noemi got her items and walked up to line number seven, it was short and she knew by no time she’ll be right out. Tiff, are you sure this is where you got it? a deep rugged tone asked. Noemi turned her head seeing who the man with such macho tongue was. A dark chocolate young handsome male with a low cut Caesar fade with deep waves; reddish-brown eyes wearing all black followed closely behind a prepossessing full blooded Puerto Rican who looked to be about nineteen, was pushing the store shopping cart as he smiled and playfully hit her on the butt. Yes, Ben, I’m sure it’s here. she blushed as she looked in every aisle for God knows what she was searching for. Noemi smiled seeing the love that the young couple shared. He couldn’t keep his hands off of her as he helped his girl get every item she needed. By the way he walked, talked and the way he showed respect to his woman, Noemi could tell he was a self-made man. His face expression was stern with everyone else except for his lady. He also was rocking a perfectly lined five o’clock shadow. He had a boss appeal and a business savvy. The man was beautiful, every woman’s dream, and she secretly wish she was his Tiff. Tiffany, I found it, his voice spoke so softly only with her. She couldn’t help but let her eyes follow them around. You did! Let me see! Tiffany screeched with joy. Her long dark brown hair was in soft wavy curls and her light green eyes flickered around the mall in mad speed. She had a petite frame, the only curve on her body was her breast. And she had a skin most woman would pay thousands to possess. She was beautiful, absolutely stunning, and by the way her man gazed down at her, you could tell his feelings was more than sexual. He loved her, she was his heart and soul. Noemi couldn’t help but wonder if she would ever have a man who would look at her the way he did Tiffany. A sudden sadness over came her and she wanted to cry, but she didn’t. She finally had enough as she turned her head around still waiting to purchase her items. On one of the other waiting lines a tall Caucasian guy kept his eyes fixed on her. Almost instantly embarrassment flowed inside her, the feeling of people noticing her bruises was suffocating. She wanted to drop everything and run because the man never shifted his eyes away. All of a sudden the line seem longer, and everything was moving in slow motion. She couldn’t tame herself anymore as she try to skip the ones before her. Hello, what do you think you’re doing? a customer said as she tried to stop Noemi from getting in front of her. Please move. Noemi whispered as she got to the front of the line. You’re kidding right? Move! Go back to your spot. there was a lot of cursing and complaints as she stood shakenly, with her materials in hand, staring nervously at the cashier. Excuse me ma’am, you’re not allowed to do that. I’m going to have to ask you to go to the end of the line. the teenage boy said kindly. Noemi didn’t care if they had to drag her out of the market, she would stay here until her item was checked and purchased. She just didn’t like the fact that a stranger—a very well looking stranger matter of fact was burning holes through her body with his unexplainable gaze. Ma’am, please just go to the end of the line or I will be force to call security. the boy said with a faint of annoyance in tone. Please, please, check me out first. I promise it won’t take long. See, look, only two items to check. Noemi begged as her brows dip pleadingly. The boy wanted to help the beautiful brown lady before him, he felt sympathy for her as he debated in his mind whether he should help her or not. Hey! Are you going to allow her to skip us? I’m next in line and I only got three more minutes to kill! another one shouted. That was all the teenage boy needed to hear as fear of losing his job caused him to reach out for the wireless phone and dial security. Wait! No, please, I have something very important to do back home. I can’t wait, please I just can’t. Noemi explained her hands shaking from humiliation and fear. Fine, ma’am, go to line number ten. he mumbled. Noemi speed herself to the empty aisle as she waited patiently for a cashier to arrive. She felt more diminish now that she wasn’t so close to the stranger. Noemi got everything checked and paid, she left the store feeling some sort of relief. She was about to hit the sidewalk with her boots but a gentle touch caused her to jump slightly. Excuse me, a deep tranquility voice spoke from behind. She turned her direction to the person and her mouth almost drop when his good-looks shone in front of her. Y-yes? she stuttered. His warm smile made her heart melt as he handed her a grocery bag. Seems like you forgotten one, he said. Thank you. she took the bag from him and without another word she began to walk away. Whoa, wait a minute, I would like to know your name, if that’s okay with you. he stated, holding on to her hand as he pulled her close. Noemi cleared her throat, I would love to stay here and chat but I’m afraid I don’t have enough time to waste. she explained sweetly. She really didn’t want him to let go of her hand. The warmth of his soft skin and the expensive odor of his Armani eau pour homme cologne had her in a trance. Please, just a name and I promise I’ll let you go. he lied. Knowing when her name dripped off of those full pink lips, he would hold her hostage. He wanted to get to know this beauty and he had a feeling she was feeling the same way, or at least he thought she was. Noemi. she responded, her eyes battered slowly as his electric blue eyes played funny tricks on her. She saw a whole another world in those soul touching eyes. His lips curved up a smile, "that’s a cute name for a beautiful girl like you, it almost doesn’t fit. Noemi face flushed dark red, she was taken aback on his kindness. Obviously he was being nice because Noemi felt ugly with the scars and bruises Gabriel had carved on her flawless skin. He notice her insecurity and his eyes went soft as he rubbed his hand lightly on her face. You’re beautiful, honestly. You should have seen the way people were staring at you."

Yeah, because of my scars. Noemi whispered sadly as a tear fell from her eye. She really didn’t know why she was allowing a stranger to see her this way, she was so vulnerable, so fragile and delicate. Heart so pure and innocent, she was a beauty inside and out and any man would be bless to have her on their arms. He held on to her a little bit tighter, his body left her no personal space. You are beautiful Noemi. The most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. These scars don’t matter, they really don’t make a difference because the beauty is still present. Trust me, I’m the one who notice the admiration in the eyes of those people when you walked in. You had them in awe. Had me in awe. Noemi smiled as more tears began to fall. You really think so? he let his lips touch her nose as he traced the outline of her bottom lip. Yes. he responded truthfully. The sun was about to set giving the world a twilight glow, Noemi stayed talking to Marvin. She was so into their conversation, she forgot if she had a liquor to deliver to Gabriel. Noemi didn’t want to leave his presence but she knew if she didn’t there would be hell to pay. I have to go now. she said sadly, almost wanting to cry. Marvin hesitated, his mood switching as the thought of her leaving made him weak in the knees. Please, I need to leave. she pleaded. He sense the fear she was trying to hide and he slowly released her hand. Where is your vehicle? he wondered in confusion. I don’t have one, she answered timidly.

So you walked all the way here?

Pretty much. Noemi whispered. Marvin shook his head in disgust and he grabbed her hand walking her to his car. What are you doing? she panicked as her mind started to think the worst. I’m not going to let you walk all the way back. I’ll drive you wherever you need to go, only if that’s okay with you. Noemi shifted her boots from one leg to another, debating if she should take the offer. She glanced at the twilight sky. It was indeed beautiful and the little glow would soon vanish, letting the darkness shine. Okay, I don’t mind, he grabbed her gently by the waist with a gracious smile on his face, as they continued to walk. Noemi watched him open the passenger door and she thanked him as she flopped her pretty self on the soft cushion. He then jogged to his seat, smoothly driving away from the big city mall. Their conversation continued as he drove slowly. The forty minute drive was too short for Noemi as she laughed and smiled like never before with him. She couldn’t believe how a magnificent stranger could bring out so much feelings out of her in one day. She didn’t feel like she was in a car with a stranger she had just met, but simply she felt like she was with her best friend or big brother. She had never felt this connection with anyone before. With Marvin she felt safe. As he parked his vehicle on Gabriel’s porch, Noemi’s heart dropped to her knees, the small crappy home was sickening to the stomach. Marvin noticed her change of mood almost instantly. Her mood went from calm and happy to grief and fear. Is everything alright? he questioned, his worried tone caused her to smile. Yeah, I’m okay. Thanks again for the ride, Marv. her voice breaking with sadness. He tried to calm whatever was troubling her, but she dodge his touch and quickly got out of the car. She had no key to the house so she knocked and waited for someone to answer. Marvin got out of his car, wanting to ensure she entered safely. What are you doing? You can’t do that! Get back in the car and drive away! Please! she urged him as she try to shoo him away with her hand. Her body was quivering with so much fear, her teeth began to chatter. Relax, I just want to show respect to your parents or guardian, I don’t want them to go all ballistic on you. his words surprised her, not because he was being polite or anything but because he knew she wasn’t old enough to be with a man his age. It’s better if you- her sentence was cut short when the door finally opened. A drunk Kasey stared down at Noemi and Marvin. Oh, well look what we got here. The tramp finally made it home, she slurped. Her eyes then scanned Marvin and lust sparkled in them. Ooh, tramp brought us a playmate! Hey, Gab get your ass out here! Come see this shit! she singed loudly. Marvin’s face twisted in abhorrence, he wanted to slap the disrespect out of her, but he kept his cool as he stared Kasey down with disgust. He wasn’t a violent guy or anything but the way she looked down at Noemi really annoyed him. Matter of fact, anyone who disrespect Noemi would get whatever he had in mind for them. It was weird actually, because he didn’t even know her that well and he was ready to protect her from any harm. Gabriel walked up to the door with a Cuban cigar hanging from his mouth, when he saw Marvin standing beside his woman he saw red. You’re late, is everything okay? he asked nicely, showing ersatz care. It was only a show he put on for the stranger. Noemi nodded her head as she made her way inside. She didn’t want to go in there, she wanted to ride with Marvin never looking back, but she knew it could never happen. Are you her father? Marvin asked out of curiosity, he too felt something offbeat. Gabriel signify with a head nod, he pulled the cigar out of his mouth and said, Something like that. Who the hell are you? Marvin chuckled lightly to himself as he sized Gab up. A friend of hers. I didn’t want her walking in the dark, that’s all. he replied coldly. Gabriel showed out a crooked grin as he placed his hand over his chest where his heart rested. Aw, how generous of you to go through all that trouble. You know. . . white fools like you make me itch. his words calm, letting the smoke travel in the air with each word he spoke. You’re always trying to be the good guy, the savior, he paused, shaking his head at Marvin’s stupidity. Get the hell away from my doorstep you white trash. Gabriel spat harshly as he slam the door shut. Marvin balled up his fist as his jaw clenched, he had to laugh it off, he just had to smile to himself and walk away before he ended up doing something really stupid. Before he got a chance to
