About this ebook
With a helpful ability provided by an inert part of her brain being activated during the operation, it gave her a head start in this endeavor.
Her main objective was to get the rule of celibacy revoked, giving those in the service of the church a release from their frustrations.

CHAPTER 1
Choices
D r Stevens stared down at the body lying on the bed, it was quite still, for it was in a coma, and was unlikely ever to wake up.
The body belonged to that of a young lady, a nun, in fact, whose mind had apparently gone awry.
The Mother Superior had informed him that she had been unruly for some time, questioning the old rituals and ways of the faith and stating that they were outdated and needed to be changed and updated for the modern world. This had played on her mind to such a degree, that her mind became deranged and she began throwing things about the Convent, before she finally collapsed and went into a coma.
Dr Stevens a tall, grey haired, sixty year old and well revered doctor, gave the young woman a brain scan and found that her brain was a mess and if she did recover, which was unlikely, she would be a no more than a vegetable.
The Mother Superior had informed the good doctor that the female, Sister Mary had no parents having been orphaned when she was a young child and had been schooled and brought up by the Convent.
The nun was about twenty or maybe a little more, short dark hair and of medium height, and a face that was most attractive, in fact it was an angelic looking face, and looked at peace as she lay there. After Dr Stevens had scanned her brain, he checked out the rest of her body to see if there were any other problems, but everything appeared in perfect order.
Such a lovely young female, much too young to take leave of this world, he thought, and wondered if there was a brain that could be transplanted into this young lady to give her a life.
The doctor, with a team of other doctors had already transplanted brains into two recipient bodies, with success, and wondered if there was a patient at his hospital whose body was deteriorating, but still had a lucid brain.
Leaving the nun, Dr Stevens returned to his duties, checking on his patients, and deciding while he was on his rounds, see if there were any suitable brains that could be transplanted.
Because of the success of the previous transplants, there had been an influx of old people into the hospital, hoping that they would get a second chance of life.
The first successful transplant had been an old man’s brain into a brain dead young man and the second an old woman’s brain into that of a young man who had been in a car accident and not recovered from the coma he was in.
Dr Stevens took his time as he checked his patients and made a note of those the thought might be suitable for such an operation.
There were many possibilities, those which had problems earlier in their lives he disregarded, not wanting a new recipient to receive the possibility of a recurrence of something that was lying dormant.
At the end of his round, Dr Stevens had four possibilities, two were male and two, female.
Although the second successful transplant was a female’s brain into a male body, Dr Stevens did not think it would be a good idea for a man’s brain to be transplanted into a female body.
That left two possibilities, the two females.
Both females were as different as chalk and cheese.
Bessie was a law abiding lady who had never married and had led a sedentary type of life, not rocking the boat at any time and living a quiet life with no highs or lows, and which looked like the obvious choice for a nun.
The other lady, Magdalene or Madge as she preferred to be called, had been a brothel madam and before that a lady who had sold her body for sex.
Dr John Stevens was a fair man, and decided to give both the ladies an opportunity to have their brain transplanted, and decided to ask each what they would do if they had the opportunity of a new life in the body of the nun.
Bessie said that she would live her second life as she had done with her first life, being a law abiding and sober life, enjoying a peaceful existence, not making any unwanted waves.
Madge had already decided that she would not be the one selected, as her previous occupation was obviously not the sort that the doctor would have for the brain transplant he had in mind, but nevertheless, answered his question.
‘I realise that you won’t select me as I was a brothel madam, but if I had the opportunity, I would try to reform the church and attempt bring it into the modern world’.
‘Would you really!’ said a surprised Dr Stevens.
‘I certainly would, Doc. Everything is so antiquated and out of date. No wonder the congregations are dropping off, and I have heard that numbers going into service are getting less and less.’
I might have been an old reprobate, but I reckon that I did as much good as them’ Madge stated.
‘How do you mean, Madge?’ Dr Stevens asked puzzled.
‘Well, Doc, I serviced many men, who were frustrated souls for some reason or other, and, although I cannot prove it, I believe that had I not serviced them, there would have been more women raped and abused and perhaps other crimes as well.
Helping people get rid of their frustrations was as much the reason they came to me, as just for sexual gratification, I reckon. I have serviced all types, public figures, police and even priests of various denominations, besides the everyday, Tom, Dick and Harry.’
‘I had not looked at it like that, Madge’ the good doctor said thoughtfully.
Dr Stevens walked away thinking about the replies from both old ladies. He had been quite shocked at Madge’s outburst, and decided to give her some consideration, before making his judgement.
There was something else he had to think about. Would the Mother Superior agree to Sister Mary having a brain transplant, and thought that highly unlikely, and would have to think of a way around it.
Dr Stevens gave a great deal of thought into which of the two ladies he would offer the opportunity of having her brain transplanted into the body of the young nun, and decided that it would be Madge.
The reason he had chosen Madge was, because she knew what she would do with her second chance at life, and was sure that she would carry out her attempt to modernise the church.
The doctor informed Bessie that she was an unsuccessful candidate this time, and found that she took it well.
Dr Stevens then went to tell Madge the good news, hoping that she would think it was good news.
And informed Madge that he had chosen her, for the brain transplant, if that is, if that is what she wanted.
Madge could not believe her ears, and would have done a jig around the ward, if her legs had allowed her to do so. She had long known that her time was nearly up, even though her brain was still serving her well.
‘What made you choose me?’ she asked Dr Stevens.
‘Your reply to my question, informing me that you would like to reform the church, which I agree is badly needed, and decided that if anyone could do it, you could’ he replied.
Dr Stevens then informed Madge all he could about the nun, and that she would only be a vegetable if she did awaken. He also told her about the problem in asking the Mother Superior to agree with the transplant operation, even without informing her of Madge’s work history.
‘I cannot tell the Mother Superior that she died, otherwise she would want the body to be buried at the Convent’ the doctor said, as much to himself as to Madge.
The doctor walked away, deciding to give it more thought, but first things first, and he would call the doctors who had done the previous two operations to see if they would be available for this one.
He had decided he would save a life, or two really. It was his job, and it was something he wanted to do anyway.
He gave the same doctors a call, that had done the two other operations, and all were more than happy to provide their skills once again, for it meant even greater prestige for them and when they heard that the brain was to be transplanted from a brothel madam into the body of a young nun, they were even more enthusiastic, and intrigued at what the outcome might eventuate.
It was agreed that the operation would leak out to the media in time, and all promised not to let it known about it being a brothel madam’s brain or that the recipient was a nun.
The doctor decided to concentrate on the transplant operation, and should something go wrong, for there was no guarantee of success, his other problem would cease to be a problem, and if a success, he would decide what to do afterwards.
The following day, Dr Stevens visited Madge and asked if she was happy to have the operation or whether she had decided not to go through with it.
‘Oh, I am happy to go through with it, doc. I had already realised that my time was nearly up, so if the operation is not successful, I have not much to lose, and if successful I will have a new life ahead of me, and one in which I shall do my best to make my mark, and have some enjoyment while I am at it’ Madge said enthusiastically.
‘That’s the attitude I want to hear, Madge. You know that there have been two other successful transplants’
Madge nodded.
‘Well there is a person I want you to meet before the operation and also afterwards. Her name is Nina Zeibermann. She is one of the foremost psychologists in the world, and knew the other two recipients of brain transplants, and helped them through various stages of recovery and became close friends with them, so she will be of great help to you. I have already spoken to her and she will come to see you this afternoon’ Dr Stevens said.
‘I am looking forward to her visit. I am sure she will be a great help’ Madge replied.
The doctor left, leaving Madge to her thoughts.
Madge had lots to think about and went through how she was going to live her new life, and intended to have much more enjoyment than she had given the doctor to believe.
Nina arrived early that afternoon, just after lunch, in fact, though Madge had been too excited to eat much.
Nina was short and a fit looking lady in her early fifties. She was not thin, nor was she fat, with a good set of breasts and shapely legs and hips, and a smile that made her easy to like and to talk to.
Madge liked Nina from the instant that Dr Stevens introduced them, and knew that they would get along very well.
Dr Stevens went off leaving the two women to get acquainted.
‘As you are aware from Dr Stevens, I knew both previous brain recipients’ Nina said, and proceeded to inform Madge much about them and what to expect after the operation.
‘When Dr Stevens told me of your previous occupation, I was surprised that he chose you, as he is inclined to be a bit straight-laced, but when he gave his reasons, I understood’ Nina said smiling ‘and, before we continue, I want you to know that I have nothing against the occupation you had.’
Nina telling her that, cheered Madge up, and felt that she should tell Nina her story.
Nina said that she would be most eager to hear it, and would return the next morning as she had an appointment that afternoon.
Dr Stevens returned to see Madge after Nina had left, and asked how her meeting went and Madge informed him that it went very well and that she liked Nina, and informed him that Nina would visit her the following morning.
Dr Stevens nodded his head and asked if she had any misgivings about having the operation now that she had time to think about it.
‘No, doc, though I feel a little nervous’ then she added ‘very nervous in fact’
‘That is to be expected, Madge. The operation is scheduled for the day after tomorrow at 9.00 am.’ Dr Stevens said and left her to her thoughts.
Nina arrived the next morning, and Madge began her story.
‘My parents were working class. My father worked for the railway. He would like to have been an engine driver but he had poor eyesight and was stuck on the station platform as a porter. My mother was a sickly type of woman and stayed at home. I often wondered how on earth she was able to have me. Anyhow, they were church goers and when I was born, gave me the name of Magdalene, after Mary Magdalene. I don’t think they realised that she was a fallen woman. But the name turned out to be the right one for the occupation that I finished up with.
I was not much good at school, and was interested in anything but schoolwork, and as I got older that turned to the opposite sex. I admit, I could not think about anything else, nor did I want too. I could not wait for my first sexual experience with a boy, but that did not come until after I left school and went to work.
Without a decent education, I could not get a good paying job, but managed to get work in a factory, and believe it or not, I worked in a factory making condoms.
Most of the females there, were uneducated like me, and there was a lot of jokes and larking about. Some were married and some were single and all used to pilfer the condoms for their own use.
There were a few males who worked there, mainly in the storeroom and despatch. There was a young lad about my age, who would give me a smile when he passed by, but he did not make contact.
One Saturday evening I was in the pub with some of the girls, when he came in with his friends, and seeing me came over and bought me a drink and started talking. He took me home that night and we made a date for the next night, and that was when I became an ex-virgin. We could not get enough of each other, and I began to take condoms for my own use. It was easier for me than for him.
Well, to cut the story short, I got caught and was dismissed on the spot. What made it worse was that he did not want to know me anymore, even though I was not reported to the police.
I tried for lots of jobs, but could not get one, so I thought to myself, I like having sex, so I will go on the game, and that is what I did.
I decided that I was not interested in having children, so I got my tubes cut, and that would remove any worries as regards getting pregnant.
I found that I began to make good money, probably because I put a lot into it because I like it, and word got around that I was a good fuck.
Although I was not well educated, I was not stupid, and saved money regularly realising that I would not be able to do this forever. When I had enough, I bought myself an apartment and furnished it. And continued to save until I had a nice little bank account.
I knew quite a few of the others on the game, and wondered about owning a brothel now that my looks were beginning to fade, so I looked around for a suitable place, and when I found one, put a deposit on it, and decorated it to my requirements.
At that time, winter was approaching and it was getting cold out on the street, and many of the walkers would pop into a pub for something to warm them up.
A couple of new walkers were there complaining about the cold and not looking forward to the cold winter weather, so I asked them if they would be interested in working in a brothel, and explained that I had a premises and knew some contacts with regular customers, and asked if they would like to give it a try.
They said that they would think about it and I gave them my address.
The next morning they came to see me and said that they would like to give it ago, so we sat down and worked everything out, then took them to see the place.
From there it just grew, and I stopped walking the streets and still had the occasional customer to keep me happy and began to make plenty of money. I did not cheat the girls and only took 30 percent of their takings towards the overheads.
I did not look back and made a success of the business, and yes, I did have the odd run in with the law, but that is par for the course, and finished when I felt that I had had enough, and sold the business to a friend in the same business, and had enough to last me until my time came. There that is my story, Nina’ Madge said.
‘Well, I hope you have not spent it all, and have some left for a new life’ Nina said.
‘That I do, and I still have an apartment. Not the one I first bought, although I still own it and rent it out, I have a more luxurious one as well’ Madge said smugly.
‘Then you are all set up for your new life’ Nina smiled.
‘Yes, providing the operation is a success’ Madge replied.
‘I will leave you now and will come to see you after your operation’ Nina said.
Later that day, Dr Stevens brought a form for Madge to sign, giving the doctors concerned the authority to operate on her brain.
‘I know that you have no dependants, Madge, but it must be signed in case anyone pops up at some future date, claiming that we should not have operated without consent, whether they are genuine or not.’
‘I understand, doc. No one wants to be caught out and sued’ Madge said, signing the form with her hand shaking, due to her old age.
‘Thank you, Madge’ Dr Stevens said, folding it up and putting it in the pocket of his white coat.
‘It will be a long operation, Madge. The first one took 20 hours and the second 18, so with luck, yours will be even less. We will have two
