When Katie Brindle first set eyes on her grade II-listed country mansion deep in the heart of Somerset, it was love at first sight.

The born and bred Londoner, who previously lived in Holland Park and had the “go-go-go” energy of the capital running through her veins, was ready to slow down and enjoy country life.

“We drove up the drive and said: ‘This place is magical,’” she recalls, as we sit in her busy kitchen during our exclusive shoot and interview.

“Although it took me about five years to fully embrace the energy of the property, the beauty of the grounds, the quietness, the birdsong and being in nature.”
