About this ebook

For decades now, one of the ways that Ive been sharing Gods Word is including Bible verses in greeting cards, emails, Facebook, etc. It wasnt always easy or convenient to find just the right scripture for holidays, and so many other special occasions until now!

I wrote this book out of necessity. I wanted an easy to use, easy to access book full of appropriate verses for all occasions at my fingertips and available whenever I needed a perfect verse or two.

I truly hope you find this publication as fulfilling, convenient and as useful as I have, sharing His Word, one verse at a time.

Dedicated to Kelly, Anthony, Julie, Taryn, Cory and Kimberly

Thank you for all your love, care, laughter, and drama. Each one of you is special and unique. I am so blessed that you are my children. I will love you forever! Thank you Lord!

    Preface

This book is written to all those who love the Lord Jesus enough to Go ye into all the world and spread the Gospel.

The seed can be planted, someone’s spirit can be lifted and encouraged when you care enough to send the best–– a scripture or two from God’s Word, to be tucked in a card, note, email, or Facebook–– to someone God has put on your heart.

Because of our busy schedules, it is my intent and prayer that this book will make it easier for you to do this. Additional space is provided for you to record verses, scriptures, poems, etc. that are special to you if they do not appear in this book.

Any names in this book that refer to God are capitalized out of a most loving reverence for Him.

For the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 TKJV

    Acknowledgements

A special thanks to my friend San Dee. She gave me the idea of keeping favorite scriptures in a recipe box, so that I could easily locate them.

Also to my son Kelly for encouraging me and getting me started again, and for the many hours of help he has given me on the computer. Thanks to Taryn also and all my other children.

Thanks to Vacation Bible Schools, my Pastors, and all who helped to lead me to the saving knowledge of Christ my Lord and Savior, and taught me about the wonderful lifesaving words of the Bible.

If the Lord calls me home before I finish this book, or it is never published, I will still have learned so much through researching God’s Word. Thank you my dear Heavenly Father!

    Only one life to live,

    T’will soon be past.

    Only what’s done

    For Christ will last.

    APRIL FOOL’S DAY

    April 1st

    39201.png

April Fool’s Day is a day when traditionally people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other.

The proverbs teach us how to live.

The fool says in his heart, there is no God. Psalm 14:1 NIV

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. I Corinthians 1:18 TKJV

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7 TKJV

A discerning man keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth. Proverbs 17:24 NIV

Be careful, then, how you live, not as fools but as wise… Ephesians 5:15a NIV

A foolish person does not want to understand anything. He only enjoys telling others what he thinks. Proverbs 18:2 NCV

Even a foolish person seems to be wise if he keeps quiet. He appears to have understanding if he doesn’t speak. Proverbs 17:28 NCV

Foolish people are always getting into quarrels. But avoiding quarrels will bring you honor. Proverbs 20:3 NCV

A foolish person enjoys doing wrong. But a person with understanding enjoys doing what is wise. Proverbs 10:23 NCV

Stay away from a foolish person. You won’t learn anything from him. What makes a person wise is understanding what to do. But what makes a person foolish is dishonesty. Foolish people don’t care if they sin. But honest people work at being right with others.

    Proverbs 14:7-9 NCV

A foolish person will believe anything. But a wise person thinks about what he does. A wise person is careful and stays out of trouble. But a foolish person is quick to act and careless. Proverbs 14:15-16 NCV

A foolish person thinks he is doing right. But a wise person listens to advice. A foolish person quickly shows that he is upset. But a wise person ignores an insult.

    Proverbs 12:15-16. NCV

It shouldn’t snow in summer or rain at harvest. Neither should a foolish person ever be honored. Proverbs 26:1 NCV

A foolish person will be punished for his proud words. But a wise person’s words will protect him. Proverbs 14:3 NCV

The person who has understanding has wisdom. And even fools recognize it.

    Proverbs 14:33 NCV

    ARBOR DAY

    Last Friday in April

    39678.png

The first Arbor Day originated in Nebraska City, Nebraska, United States, by J. Sterling Morton. On April 10, 1872, an estimated one million trees were planted. Individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees. Wikipedia

And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9 TKJV

Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the forest rejoice before the Lord… Psalm 96:12-13 TKJV

Then the trees of the forest will sing. They will sing with joy before the LORD. 1 Chronicles 16:33a NCV

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.

    Proverbs 11:30 NIV

For God has planted them (us) like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory.

    Isaiah 61:3b TLB

But the person who trusts in the Lord will be blessed. The Lord will show him that he can be trusted. He will be strong, like a tree planted near water. That tree has large roots that find the water. It is not afraid when the days are hot. Its leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year when no rain comes. That tree always produces fruit.
