    SECRET TALKING PICTURES

Carla and Pat just got done watching their favorite Sunday night TV shows when Rita arrived at Pat’s to pick Carla up so she could stay with her grandmother during the next three preschool days. Pat’s parents said, The girls had fun and colored in their coloring books while watching tv up to their bed time. They got up the next day and found their coloring books were right where they left them by the tv and colored some more. We look for more weekend visits from Carla. Rita said. That’s swell, this new job takes up my weekends when my mother is busy at church. Pat said, OK Carla I’ll see you next weekend. Everybody said good bye and minutes later Carla and her mother arrived at Carla’s grandmother‘s house. Rita said, Hi Mom with a hug and Carla hugged her grandmother. The three of them sat at the kitchen table and had a snack. Then it was time for Carla to go to bed so she would be ready for preschool tomorrow and Rita went home to prepare for long hours at her new job.

The next morning Carla’s coloring book called her right before it was time to wake up for school. Carla was happy that the other pictures she colored at Pat’s on weekends before were talking to her also. Carla opened up her coloring book to the last two pictures she colored of a little red headed girl playing dolls next to the page of a little boy with brown hair walking his a dog. The little red headed girl picture said to Carla, I heard Pat’s father say the bad car dealer man thinks the cars he sold to your mother, grandmother and teacher two weeks ago are cars ready to break down. Then the picture of the little boy walking his dog said, Yes, I heard Pat’s father say the bad car dealer man is not helping them fix their cars like he told them he would. Soon Carla’s grandmother was driving Carla to school when Carla said, Grandma, is this car or mommy’s or my teacher’s going to break down? If they do will the man who sold them to you fix them? Grandmother said, That man said he would fix my car if it does break down, but I don’t think that will happen. Carla said, Well I heard he’s a bad man who sold you, mommy and my teacher bad cars. Grandmother said, He was nice man."

During the day at preschool Carla found out that her teacher is having problems with her car also. After school Carla went back to Grandmas and helped her Grandmother makes cakes and cookies for the weekly fair at the church every Sunday. Then it was time for bed for Carla after a busy day at school and a busy day making cakes and cookies.

On Tuesday morning Grandmother was driving Carla to preschool but this time the car was showing signs of problems. Carla had fun in school learning numbers and letters and songs and games with the other children. After another busy day at preschool it was time to go home. While Carla was helping her Grandmother making more cakes and cookies, Carla said, Grandma, my teacher told us the bad car dealer man checked her car yesterday and today he told her he can’t help her anymore. Grandmother said, That’s terrible, and your mother told me on the phone today that she is having car problems too. Carla asked her Grandmother if her car will still work. Grandmother said, Yes, but the car is getting worse and worse as the days go by just like your teacher’s car. Your mother and I are taking our cars back to the car dealer again today so they can do some more test. As another busy day came to an end it was bed time for Carla, Go to bed so grandma could get a rest after a busy day said Grandma.

Carla and Grandmother were riding to preschool on a cloudy windy Wednesday for the last day of preschool for the week. In the morning everybody was happy but later the teacher learned she would have to spend a lot of money to fix her car. After the children sang some songs and played some games it was time to go home. When Grandmother came to pick Carla up at preschool she talked to the teacher about the bad car dealer man who told her there’s nothing he can do for her. Grandmother told the teacher that the bad car dealer man told her and Rita the same thing. Carla and Grandmother returned home and made some more cakes and cookies, wrapped them up and put them away for the weekend. Carla was happy Grandma was all ready for the weekend church fair. Now it was time for Carla to get ready to go home with her mother for the next two days. They would visit the zoo and learn about the animals for those two days. Carla and her mother prepared for their trip to the zoo, they got their clothes, shoes and plans ready for their journey all around the zoo.

Thursday morning came with a bright clear day, Carla and her mother saw a lot of animals that acted like they were enjoying the sunny day also. After a full morning Carla and her mother saw a nice place to have lunch and take a rest. The dining hall was comfortable and entertaining with music and pictures of animals. Carla and Rita had fun talking about the animals they saw and will see. After they were finished eating, Rita asked Carla how she knew that car troubles were near. Carla said, I have little friends in my coloring book that come to visit me. And they tell me if Pat has been mean to me like she was before. Carla’s mother said, Carla I don’t think she was mean to you and her parents are doing us a very big favor. And you friend could be just a dream your having. Carla said, Well then the book or the dream was right. Rita felt tired and wanted to see more of the zoo so she said to Carla, Ok, let’s go see some more animals." After Carla and her mother seen more of the zoo they became happier and also very tired and eager to go home. And they left the rest of the zoo visit for tomorrow.

When Carla got home she put her toys from the zoo away and helped her mother make dinner and then they watched their favorite tv shows. After that it was time to prepare their favorite clothes and shoes for tomorrow’s visit to the zoo. When they were done talking and laughing about the fun they had at the zoo it was time for bed.

Friday came quickly with another sunny day which made it easy for Carla and her mother to see the rest of the zoo and have as much fun and excitement as they had yesterday. But this had to be a short day so Carla could get to Pat’s in
