PRINCESS BLOSSOM
Blossom.jpgM OST OF THE morning had been rather stifling, but by early afternoon the weather had cooled to be warm and comfortable. The brightness of the clear blue sky had the vast meadow looking bright and inviting.
. . . And so it was… that the handsome Prince Arkapple with his true love Princess Blossom happily romped among the long sweet-smelling grasses of the green meadow of their home in the province of Anteoc.
So occupied with their revelry of each other, they were ignorant of the heavy riding horses advancing towards them.
The lovers were still unaware of the snorting approaching horses. That was… until the tall thick-set warrior jumped from his horse between them.
Suddenly and with much force, Prince Arkapple was grabbed viciously from behind. His arms were being pulled forcibly behind his back.
With surprise and much anger at being handled s roughly, Prince Arkapple demanded, What be the meaning of this barbaric act?
The tall bronzed warrior deliberately ignoring Prince Arkapple’s words, held him in a tighter grip. The warrior shouted an order to the two Eunuchs beside him, Take Princess Blossom back to her father!
Pulling hurtful on Prince Arkapple’s arms he ordered, ‘You are to be exiled from Anteoc."
The tightness on Prince Arkapple’s arms caused him great pain but showing no emotion, he asked, Why is this so? And whose orders do you speak this treason?
Leering insulting at the Arkapple, the warrior jerked tighter on the Prince’s arms.
With a quiet anger, Prince Arkapple stated, My father, the king will have your head for this outrage.
Ordering the massive Eunuchs with the heavy chains to him, the warrior forced the angry and struggling Prince Arkapple to be still. While the thick chain was being clapped on Prince Arkapple’s arms the warrior scoffed, "It is on your own Father’s orders that I am personally to escort you to Carpathion where you will never again see Princess Blossom.
As the two Eunuchs took the struggling Princess Blossom forcibly to the waiting horsed, Princess Blossom screamed, Prince Arkapple! . . . Help me!
Prince Arkapple was desperately fighting to free his arms. The Prince knew he was helpless to save his Princess. The chains had been placed tight and firm. Bravely he called to his love, I vow to rescue you my heart’s desire.
His arms now shackled tight behind him, Prince Arkapple was forced to ride his great steed wearily and painfully through the long days and nights.
Arriving at the Old Hermit’s cave where the Prince was to be imprisoned, the warrior pulled Prince Arkapple from this horse. Pushing the struggling Prince to the cave entrance the warrior pushed him harder through the cave. Shoving the Prince into the dirty and damp dungeon-like room, the warrior placed thicker chains around the Prince’s ankles. He ordered sarcastically to the Eunuch, Place the damper and water for our Prince!
Food, even damper, was far from Prince Arkapple’s thoughts. He was thinking of his Princess Blossom. She would be in need him. With his chains clanging, Prince Arkapple slid to the dirt floor. His thoughts were sad. He had to escape… but how? Looking at the thick chains, defeated he closed his eyes.
Many days later a now hungry and hurting Prince Arkapple watched the warrior enter the cave. His forced days of bondage had left him also angered. Observing the arrogant warrior, Prince Arkapple’s anger for the warrior had not lessened.
The Bronze warrior stood arrogantly before Prince Arkapple as he stated disrespectfully, You are to be released.
