    INTRODUCTION

W HEN ONE LISTENS to gospel services on radio, television or in church, you always hear the words: Repent, turn away from sin. However the question is, what is sin?

    What is sin?

Sin is those deeds, thoughts and words of humans that are not according to the laws, commands and wishes of God. Some of the many sins already became such a part of our lives that we do not even realize that it is sin anymore and that God does not approve of it. God Himself says that He hates sin in all forms. One single sin was the cause of separation between mankind and God. The sin of disobedience. God’s love for mankind is however so intense that He sent Jesus to rebuild the bridge between God and mankind. Jesus had to die in order that His blood could cover and wash away our sins. God’s laws and commandments were never made undone or erased but were manifested by Jesus and are valid for ever. Jesus Himself said He didn’t come to destroy God’s laws end demands, but to fulfill the Law. In other words, to once again bring God’s laws and commandments to life and active.

Every human on earth is a sinner and no one is without sins, but that does not mean there is no hope for salvation. To master something we must practice to be able to do it expertly. It is like someone playing a musical instrument. This person did not get up one morning with a wish to play an instrument and were able to play it. No, it took years of intensive practice to be able to play that musical instrument faultless. It is the same to be able to live a holy life. We have to practice day after day and year after year to accomplish living a holy life for God.

All proclaimed Christians have one goal and that is to spend eternity with God Almighty and Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Keep in mind that we are created and given life by God, therefore we are His property. It is the same as a woman who is making a
