The Innovative Church of the 21st Century
M aking the first steps in this new millennium, the Church of Jesus Christ is facing new challenges. It will need to negotiate and overcome these new challenges in order to advance the kingdom of God on earth. Our society, our technology and even our communications and informational systems have changed and are quite different from those of yesterday. Therefore, we cannot hope to conspicuously affect our present society with the methods and ways of yesterday’s society. It is imperative for the Church to innovate. I am therefore convinced that only an optimized, innovative, apostolic Church will be capable of making the difference in our present society and kingdomize
the earth. I define kingdomizing
as the action of the Church of Jesus Christ advancing and establishing the kingdom of God on earth.
This innovative Church is one that has revelation of its identity and understands that it is not called to sit-in in the four walls of a building, but is sent out to transform its generation for Christ. This Church is not one that comes religiously in a building twice a week to calm its Christian conscience, but rather chosen people who walk toward the fulfillment of their destiny. It is a chosen generation that does not have a form of godliness denying the power thereof, but an educated generation that fully understands the profound revelation of Jesus Christ and the mandate assigned by him. In this generation, God is raising apostles and prophets capable of optimizing the Church for its apostolic mandate. He is raising a new generation of Christians who are not hiding behind their Bible and their eternal life, but are clearly affecting their communities for Christ. It is a new generation which will not be intimidated by what the world will throw at them and say about them, but will be able to show forth the power and authority that Jesus Christ gave them to influence and change the world with the good news of the Gospel of the kingdom. It is a new generation for whom every place their feet shall thread upon will be theirs. This is the Church which will kingdomize
the earth in this 21st century.
Thus, the apostolic Church which is sent out by the Lord to affect its society will have certain particularities non-negotiable for the success of its destiny. Needless to say, spirituality, holiness, biblical depth and demonstration of the power of Jesus Christ are mandatory to affect the world with the Gospel of the kingdom. Nevertheless, there are certain other elements that I find neglected in the Body of Christ, which the apostolic Church cannot afford to overlook and take lightly. It will need to be innovative, mastering these elements and optimize their application to accentuate the efficacy and efficiency of the propagation of the Gospel in order to kingdomize our territory for Jesus Christ.

Technological Turn
I n this era, in order to remarkably affect our generation, we will need to maximize the use of our modern-day technology. The Church has had difficulty to follow the technological and communications innovations of its generation. We are in an era where the secular world is on the cutting edge of technology, but the Church is trailing tediously. While a company that respects itself and really wants
