Dedication
I wish to dedicate my second publication entitled The Sequel to Love
Lifts the Heart to Matthew A. Farina, MD, pediatric cardiologist.
I am so thankful that I had you to stand by me in my time of trial.
Preface
Love Lifts the Heart closes with the death of Robert’s father—all the children’s father, my husband Ron. It was also Christmas of 2009.
Realizing that this life is continuous, I began to compile the second edition. I had had my two hip-replacement surgeries on April 7, 2009, (the right side) and August 7, 2009, (the left side) respectively. This time of convalescence gave me the opportunity to put my book together.
The first comments in Love Lifts the Heart, I had put down forty years ago regarding Ron and the children. The research for the poems and the permission to print had been sought and received, and contact for the foreword had been made.
I remember, one night back then, telling my husband to go on to bed as I was going to write. I stayed up and wrote for four hours, when all was quiet. The four little boys were all asleep. I kept these notes in a brown composition book and they were all used—every word.
Timing was right. With the deaths of my father-in-law; my mother-in-law, and then my husband. The opportunity was presented for me to express myself fully, and I did.
Emotions continue to come out in talking with people who have read Love Lifts the Heart. So far, it has only two negative comments. Others talk to me with full understanding and comment on some issues in a supportive way. At any rate, nothing can change what has been done. I only need to move forward, courageously, in the care needed for Bobby
