Thanks to my dear Sisters and Friends

Katherine Stapleton, a sister in Christ, was a blessing to me in helping me title this book. I thank you, sister, for the love you share. May your life be filled with love daily. I also want to thank my faithful friend and sister in Christ, Donna Brown. She continues to be a blessing by editing the books for me. She has been blessed with a loving kind heart. I pray that she continues to allow God to use her for his glory.

    Loving Thanks

I am so thankful to my daughter, Cecelia Reeves-Chavez, who was my primary editor. She also designed the cover of this book. She has been and continues to be a beacon of love with a positive disposition. I want to give a special thanks to my nephew, Timothy Short, who provided the three landscape illustrations. He is very talented and is a student at Georgia State University.

    With Loving Gratitude

To my husband, Julian Reeves, a special man in so many ways, I thank God for you. Thank you for your support in everything I do.

    FOREWORD

We have a unique need unlike all the other creatures created by a loving God. We are created in God’s image, infused with a deep desire within our souls to love and to be loved. Those who have this great desire to be Christ-like and be clothed in the same manner with the virtue of love strive to be recognized as loving and caring.

Deborah Reeves, a faithful servant of God, has made love her center of interest and draws our attention to The Beauty of Love, a book of inspirational poems to help us take meaningful steps toward a better life. We have the power to change our life by changing ourselves.

By reading these songlike expressions of love, one should develop a better appreciation for Jesus and His love for us. The biggest challenge in life is to learn to love, to understand love, and have compassion towards all men. Across the ages, men in different endeavors have expressed their thoughts on love. Shakespeare eloquently beatified love with his quill by penning, By heaven, I do love, and it hath taught me to rhyme, and to be melancholy. Songwriters and poets have articulated their opinions with quaint expressions such as,marriage is more than the entanglement of two hearts; it is the entwining of two lives, forever. But Jesus has said it best in John 15:13, Greater love has no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. This is the foundation of her book of poetry. Reeves draws effectively from her Christian background, church involvement, and a keen awareness of sacrificial love.

Who should read this book? Everybody! Two young hearts experiencing new adventures of love, every moment they spend together, need godly guidance. The casual reader who wants a life of joy, his inner voice will be reminded of God’s law and how He gives life abundantly. Christians who want to be like Christ in all areas of their life and service will benefit from these poetic writings. Reeves has addressed topics such as
